  1. Yes, happened to us on the February Anthem sail. We had traditional and seated at a table for 8 but only 5 were dining. On about the 4th night a couple joined us at approximately 6PM and they were MTD. They joined us for the next evening and then stopped. Conclusion, depending on availability MTD time is not fixed at 6:45PM.
  2. Everything looks and taste good, as long as I'm not cooking and doing the dishes.😊
  3. Were you informed that your documents are ready. If so, it's the last page of the documents.
  4. The only drawback, it's over an hour from the airport.
  5. Yes. I'm an early riser and usually go to the WJ right after my hour's walk. Usually at about 7 there's only one person taking omelet orders. One can barely see the person and he/she is usually standing towards the end of the eggs station.
  6. Surprisingly as they usually are strict and look at the receipt(s). My son misplaced his receipt and thank goodness he was able to bring it up the charge on his bank account via his phone.
  7. Bayonne as it's only 25 minutes to my house for the garage. But the best part is that you get a magnificent view of the NYC skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
  8. It's like when you order a steak at a restaurant you tell them the way you like it cooked. Same with me handing lox or salt. I'm basically telling them the way I want it. Wish I could do the same to some of the MDR entrees.🀣
  9. But I think they constantly clean the pans. I know they do it for the pasta and omelets.
  10. Sorry, I thought that the meats where in back of the preparer and not in your view. Also, could you have gotten some meats in the buffet that you would have liked and ask the preparer to include in the stir-fry.
  11. When I'm in the mood for an omelet, I know what vegetables are available and I go to the lox (salmon) station and get myself a couple of pieces and ask the order taker to include in my omelet along with the selected vegetable. Also, when they make the pasta dish, they do not add salt and I gently get a saltshaker from one of the tables and hand it to the preparer. Pasta without a touch of salt is plain bland no matter how much sauce/gravy one adds to the dish.
  12. Clarification, I was simply trying to point out that all of the ingredients for stir fry, pasta and omelets stations on Anthem where in front of you to select and the meats were not hidden from view.
  13. Last sail Anthem this past February, the meats were side by side and you selected or pointed at them.
  14. Be careful of some of the fat on the beef. Ask them to trim it.
  15. Last year when I sailed on Oasis, there was no fresh to make omelet area. I was frustrated as I had just come off Allure and they had one. I found the pre-made ones standing there and a bit dry and lacking in some of the ingredients, e.g. ham, cheese, etc. To my surprise both on our August and October sail there's an individual, one can barely see the person, taking orders for made to order omelets. They give you a contraption (?) that vibrates when the order is ready.
  16. I find that the WJ set up in on the Anthem classes is the best (Quantum & Anthem). As an example, for breakfast, there a U-shaped area and in front has 2 made to order omelets/eggs station, plus a station where pancakes and waffles are being made that you can see. I wait until the waffles come off the waffle maker and help myself. Sometimes, I wish they had ice cream that I could put a scoop of vanilla on the hot waffles.πŸ€ͺFor lunch, the same area has 2 pasta made to order stations and a stir-fry station. I remember, one of our earliest cruise on Anthem, my wife and I visited the WJ after dinner curious as how they handled lobster night. We could not believe our eyes. The same area that I described above had a huge bowl filled with lobsters and next were grilled steaks. Also, an impressive dessert station with various ice cream flavors and toppings and other sweet goodies. Those were the days of Dynamic Dining experience in the MDR and the Tutti salad bar for lunch in the American Icon dining room. As the song goes "those were the days my friend, etc."
  17. After the 2nd week maybe, the menu became boring and stale.😊
  18. Many years ago, can't recall if it was the Vision or Grandeur and we had to skip a port (can' t recall the port) because of rough seas and could not tender. As we were waiting for further news it was announced that $50 OBC for each cabin and the bars would be open for free for 2 hours. Guess what put smiles on paxs faces.🀣
  19. Booking and paying are 2 distinct transactions. When you book SR it is charged to your CC immediately. I have a family sail in March and it's a party of 8 and comprise of 4 cabins in total. The 4 reservations are linked, and I went into my planner and was able to book not only dining reserves, but also entertainment and excursions.
  20. Funny, on my both my Oasis August 20 and October 13 sails, the MDR food was good to very good. WJ lunch selections and quality was meh. Went mostly to the MDR for lunch and brunch on sea days. There may be some hope in the future if Royal follows Celebrity lead. Celebrity effective in late November will reintroduce the Classic entrees section in each night's menu. Also, they are rejiggering the entree selections in the main part of the menu.
  21. Don't know if changes between the date booked and the actual sailing date is a reason. Recently, Bahamas/Nassau announced that effective January 1, 2024, their taxes on cruising would go up. Got a revised amounts from Royal and it's a mishmash. My Anthem February 9 is lower by $12+, while my Mach 31 is up by $20. My Symphony October 13 sail went up by $11. These sails are from Bayonne and have basically the same itinerary. A hint as to why the February 9 sail got a reduction is that the original Anthem March 31 T&F totaled $176.69, while my Symphony October 13 was $169.36.
  22. On my October 20th sail on Oasis from Bayonne only signed 3 times and always at the same places Coco Cay, Sorento and at Park Cafe on embarkation day. None at MDR, WJ, Theatre, Aqua, Ice and Adult shows.
