  1. I went to make a specialty dining reservation on the app, and it wanted to charge my credit card. I have OBC from many different sources, including Princess and the shareholder OBC (also from the TA and from the Princess credit card). Is there a way to make the specialty dining reservation without paying in advance, or by using the OBC to pay? Or will I have to wait until I am onboard to make a specialty dining reservation with OBC?
  2. Are sodas available from the packages while the ship is still in Galveston? Can you get canned soda from a package?
  3. What about a laptop (that doesn't use the app)? Presumably I would be able to log onto the ship's wifi on that too?
  4. Unfortunately, that's exactly when we don't want to eat. We are early people who like to eat between 5 and 6 pm. I think I'm just going to gamble on a sea day. Maybe the day after the holiday.
  5. Thank you for the confirmation, Michael! I guess I'll just have to make a reservation and hope we're not missing some great MDR meal that night. 😉 I love arancini, so I was wondering if I'd have to choose between that and a soup or other appetizer. Good to know that all 3 will be available! We'll treat it like chef's table and make sure that we are super hungry before we go!
  6. I've been looking at the Sabatini's menu for our upcoming cruise on Regal. I'm looking at this menu: https://freestyletravelers.com/s/Sabatinis-Trattoria-Menu.pdf The front page says that the $35 cover charge includes one selection from 'each course'. So what are the courses? To me, it looks like: Soup or Salad Arancini Antipasti Primi Piatti Secondi Piatti And presumably a dessert...? (not listed on the menu) Is that correct? That's a lot of courses! This seems much more reasonable than the $39 for Crown Grill single-appetizer/entree/dessert. Related question... when are the menus for the cruise posted on the medallion app? I'd like to know what the MDR is doing so that I can book Sabatini's on a night where the MDR does not excite us. We're on a holiday cruise so I'm guessing that the menus will be shifted around from the usual.
  7. Thank you! I appreciate the information.
  8. Question: can you use different devices on a 'one device' package? I know that I can only have 1 device at a time... but can I log off of one device and then log in on a different one?
  9. Question: What is Mahogany Bay? Is it a nearby beach or a private island? Are people actually able to take tours of Roatan?
  10. I got a very nice necklace at Etsy. Search for Princess Medallion.
  11. Ah, okay. I didn't realize that was the card to which you are referring. So an American credit card with the RFID tap icon works in Europe. good to know. Thank you!
  12. What is the tap card? Is this something you obtained in the UK?
  13. What are the different line colors?
  14. Excellent point! I can't believe I forgot about International Cafe!
  15. Not sure... we didn't even bother to check it out because we were sailing in a regular balcony. Since they got rid of the creperie (that we enjoyed pre-COVID) and we didn't qualify for the MDR lunch, we ended up at the buffet. Sigh... at least we were early on the ship, so we managed to get in and out before it got too crowded. However, I believe that they did extend an 'invitation' to concierge class people, so they knew where it was. And of course Aquaclass went to Blu and the suites went to the suite restaurant. At least on Princess we have the MDR, Alfredo's and the poolside pizza/burgers/grill as options besides the buffet. We are used to ignoring the people telling us to go to the buffet and just heading to the place we wish to go. 😉
  16. The pampering is excellent in Yacht Club, but the entertainment is still meh on MSC. Part of it is the cruise staff, and part of it is the international nature of the shows, and part of it is lack of events. Princess' entertainment excels. But if you are going to be busy enjoying the ports, the private deck/pool area, the lounge, the food, then Yacht Club is definitely better than a suite on Princess (which we've done a couple of times as well). For those of you who have never sailed MSC, the short of it is that Yacht Club is an entirely different world, and well worth experiencing. The non-Yacht Club MSC cruise is not.
  17. Thank you! We were disappointed to learn that on Celebrity it is now restricted to concierge class and above. Glad to hear that it is still there and open to everyone on Princess!
  18. We have not cruised Princess since pre-COVID, so I apologize if I am a little out of date. I am just wondering if Princess still offers lunch in the MDR on embarkation day? Or is this now restricted to certain groups of passengers?
  19. We love MSC, but we only sail Yacht Club with them. I would never want to be out in the 'main crowd'. Too many people, too much nickel-and-diming, not enough peace and relaxation. On Princess, we sail in a 'regular' cabin, and enjoy it very much. While it is not as 'pampering' as Yacht Club, Princess has much better entertainment options than MSC (or any other cruise line we've sailed, save Disney). There are no weird charges on the bill, and the bill is settled on a credit card without having to go to guest services to set things up or close things out. We hav sailed many times on Princess, and have 2 more cruises for next year already booked with them.
  20. We haven't sailed with Princess since pre-COVID, but back then, the regular cabins had the thin, cotton waffle-type robes. The suites had plush terry robes. but every cabin had a robe. It sounds like things haven't changed since then. So the rep might have been referring to the plush robes (rather than the thin ones).
