  1. It can be frustrating that each of the bars is a bit different and not offer the same wines, etc. We were on the Emerald in May and it was frustrating that there appeared to be a wine shortage and very few qualified for our beverage package (Princess Plus). However, many other cruisers have reported this on other ships as well.
  2. DH and I have learned to not depend on room service for food items. I often order wine that way which works out well. We have learned to "accept" the crazy small shower and the friendly shower curtain. However, we are not very tall or large people and it is truly a close encounters experience. OTOH, we may sometime try the room service pizza as I have read fairly positive things about it.
  3. Very nice! We will be in D728 in June.
  4. Thank you for informing us. It is a relief that not all of the cabins are noisy. Hopefully, your old cabin will be investigated..... or not.
  5. Jaime- I feel your pain for the room and bathroom. We were on the Emerald this past May for the British Isles. We had not been on this Princess ship before. The last Princess ship we were on was the Regal in the Fall of 2018. We really loved this ship and it had the most glorious buffet! We had "our" corner aft on the Emerald and when we walked into our cabin, we were shocked at how small it was. We truly do not remember them being "that small". Yikes! We made do with the outlets which are where the old TV was. We are used to the small showers and do not mind as long as we get to be in our cabin selection. Personally, we really love the closet. If you have extra hangars banging around, just put them on the floor. We were not too jazzed with the Emerald buffet either. However, they usually had fantastic warm bread pudding by the pastries for breakfast. Enjoy your trip and please know that not all Princess ships have identical cabins and they all definitely have different vibes!!! We were on the Grand in September and the vibe was WAY different in a good way. However, you are there for the itinerary which is lovely!
  6. Yes. And it now appears that the crew is returning to their original arrangements. We missed not being able to walk the entire promenade while on the Grand in Mid- September.
  7. Hopefully you can keep us informed of any discoveries or resolutions. This is a bummer for you. Our first Princess Cruise was on the Golden (sold) and we did hear our one neighbor because they had a crying baby. It was a nuisance and I felt sorry for the baby. We had 12 foot waves and we were at the very front of the ship in an inside cabin.
  8. @JamieLogical: Thanks for sharing your journey with us. We did the full transit in January 2018 and also stayed at the Crown Plaza. The length of the cruise appeared quite daunting as we also had only done 7 night cruises. We were on the Coral and went trough the old locks. This past September we were on the Grand and I tried posting on CC but NONE of the posts except one would post (on my Kindle), nor when I used a computer in the Computer lab. It was very puzzling. We had a fantastic commentator. author and it was his 212th time through the locks. Enjoy!
  9. In January 2018, we waited an incredibly long time to board. Maybe things have changed or improved.
  10. But it may have been for passengers, not crew. It became for crew during and post- covid.
  11. That was my first thought! Where are my aft balconies!?!?!?
  12. This has happened to us a couple of times too.
  13. It was blocked to prevent passengers from entering their smoking area.
  14. Pre covid, they ABSOLUTELY had a place of their own. It was at the front of the ship, outdoors (fairly close to the crew pool). I am sorry that you took my comment in a strange way... A bit snarky there???
  15. It is never too early for a Mimosa... especially if you are flying.
  16. Not true. The Princess transfer is FAR less expensive for Southampton to LHR!
  17. We have been to three glaciers on Princess and all were amazing; Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier (my favorite), and Sawyer Glacier which is at the end of the Tracy Arm Fjord.
  18. There are aft Vista Suites on the Regal and Caribbean Princess, and maybe other ships.
  19. In mid September, there was still crew smoking on the Promenade- it was blocked off thus prohibiting PAYING passengers to enjoy the full Promenade deck (Grand Princess).
  20. Thanks for sharing your journey with us! We did a full transit in January 2018 on the Coral. We did the Chef's Table on the Grand this last September and they did such a fantastic job!!! The crew gave us a photo of our group and a cookbook! the food and presentations were amazing. Enjoy!
  21. The ONLY negative is no loveseat. IMHO, so what!!! We do not mind at all and love these corner afts!!!
  22. AGREED!!! We are absolutely NOT fans of LHR. However, I think when we return in June, we will be a bit more acquainted with the place.
  23. The balcony is NOT necessarily bigger!!! Do your due diligence and look at the deck plans on the Princess website. We love the Regal and usually book an aft balcony with one of the larger balconies.
  24. Thank you for your report. We will be on the Sky in June and are really looking forward to it.
