  1. If none of the Alaska tours at the lodges do not interest us, what else is there to do.  Is there a bus into Talkeetna from the Mt. Micklney lodge ?  So maybe we could just go into town??  Any suggestions

  2. We were on the Sky last Dec/January and loved Take 5 - it is a very large lounge and has a very long bar.  With the regal, we did go to Crooners, but you need to pick the right time, on our transatlantic is was very empty but in the Caribbean it is busy  , we usually try to go around 6ish - or after dinner - around 8 ish

  3. We leave on our PC cruise  on Tuesday 11/16 so our testing for Covid must be done on Sunday or Monday.  Has anyone successfully used this service https://www.emed.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw7fuJBhBdEiwA2lLMYVmnXgv_JCo4eM3sWPrU4lkcjzdS0z4JDGWj-lwMi1FK2VsPkgbZSxoCt0QQAvD_BwE

It is an at home test monitored by Emed and you get results in 15 minutes  cost is 150 for  6 kits

It says FDA approved so per Princess FAQs they should accept it BUT I want to know if anyone has done it and had princess accept the results

    Thanks

  5. So based on these posts - looks like you get to choose arrival times about 2 months out.  Has anyone been able to link another couple to your reservation and then book a arrival time for the group ?  We are sailing in November with another couple and We are elite and they are not - Hope to get to group them with us for arrival time.

  6. Go into the cruise personalizer , go into manage my booking, click on check in -

for you there should be link on the page for Dietary Requests.  Click on that and there is a choice for water for CPAP.  It will generate an email and you will receive a confirmation in a few days of the request.  Once on board, just remind the cabin steward.  They always provide a whole gallon, which has lasted my husband for the whole cruise - we always have left over.  even on a 15 day cruise.

Have not been on the majestic yet - but with most ships, we did not need a extension cord.  But did need store the machine daily so not to be in the way of the cabin steward

    Good luck

  7.

I am keeping myself busy with planning our Alaska cruise tour for 2022.   We are going in May.  We will be staying at the Mt. McKinley Wilderness Lodge for 2 nights and about a day and 1/2 and then staying at Denali Lodge for about the same amount.  At the Denali lodge we have the Natural History Tour included.  What I am wondering for those who have stayed at the lodges , What did you do ?  What Tours did you take ?  We will be 3 couples, 1 from the US and two from the UK.  My husband and I have been to Alaska before but the couples from the UK have not.  So looking for something interesting, a easy hike maybe, but nothing with heights, one of the group cannot handle that.

We are schedule to take the train to the ship so that will be fun, and then we plan wale watching and seeing the dog(s) with the sleds but also will take recommendations for tours in the stops .

I know it is a long way away but with no cruises yet this year, I have to do something that will keep my hopes up about cruising

    Thanks

I'm glad that USA has made enough progress for USA to BEGIN vaccinated cruises. IMO, the CDC has correctly forced the industry to make a slow methodical approach.

Here's a number of complications besides the terms of the Framework. CCL has to decide quickly whether they will apply for test cruises for un-vaccinated pax. This will delay their preparations.

The ball is now in Arnold Donald's court. Put up or redeploy the ships!

The second problem is Florida. The government has banned enforcement of a vax mandate. Will likely go to court. Well, there's always CA and NY.

International cruises will likely have to be vaccinated ships. EU and many other countries will only allow vax persons to enter their countries without restrictions. Likely to remain in force for North America for a long time.

That's because we do not have herd immunity. For example, FL has been in a high plateau for two months. In terms of cases and positivity rates.

    https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/#latest-stats

Bottom Line: FL is averaging 60 deaths a death. More than Canada (pop 38m) currently winding down from the Third Wave.

    https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/epidemiological-summary-covid-19-cases.html?stat=num&measure=deaths_last14&map=pt#a2

Remember Cruise lines are NOT registered in the USA - Florida cannot mandate what they do ... so I think the lines can say all passengers and crew must be vaccinated.   If FL wants the travel $$ cruises brings , they will probably change their mind on vaxs

  9. With all the new CDC rules and guidance, I have yet to see if you can volunteer for the test cruises .  Has anyone heard or seen anything on this ?  I would volunteer for sure, I am fully vaccinated and would love to 'test' a cruise for free...

  10. Go into Personalizer and log in, click on manage booking for the cruise Click on boarding pass and travel summary

Click on print travel summary - that document will list everything you are getting as a package on the cruise .  it is all listed under special services

  11. I see that for Alaska in 2022, both the Sapphire and Majestic will be in rotation.  Have not been on either ship.  Opinions on either ship.  We like the Grand and the Royal, Regal and Sky.  Just wondering which ship might be better or should we pick the date with the Grand ?
