  1. We were AFT on Deck 7 in a balcony also. Our Cabin steward was Roh, and he too was terrific.
  2. Just home today from eight days on the Carnival Venezia. Really looking forward to reading your thoughts on your own Venezia journey.
  3. Thank you. We enjoyed following along. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
  4. Looking forward to following along, and your impression of Venezia. Have a fantastic trip.
  5. You should notify carnival’s guest access department to let them know you are bringing a scooter. You could also call them and explain that your scooter comes apart. I bring my own scooter that also comes apart in 5 pieces (overall width 19.5”) and fits through the doorway of a standard balcony cabin with no problem. I used it for our last 7 cruises. I don’t need an accessible cabin yet, but I know they are very scarce. Is there any possibility you could rent a smaller scooter? Hope you find a solution. From Carnival’s website……….We strongly encourage guests to inform us if they are traveling with wheelchairs/scooters at the time of booking, or as soon as the need is known, to ensure they have a stateroom that best accommodates their needs. Guests who bring scooters that are larger than 21" (53.34 cm) wide, or travel with multiple scooters in the same stateroom, must purchase a fully accessible stateroom with a wider doorway (32”, 81.3 cm), or rent a smaller scooter appropriately suited for their stateroom. Scooters that do not fit in the stateroom will not be allowed on board. Should a guest be unable to make alternate arrangements to rent a smaller scooter or travel without it, he/she will be denied boarding and no compensation will be provided.
  6. We’re looking forward to following along. We board Venezia in a few weeks. Have a nice cruise.
  7. Thanks for the info. I just changed our pick-up to 10. They say we dock at 8. We’ll have to go and get our luggage. If we have to wait for our driver, no worries. I just didn’t want the car service to have to wait for us.
  8. Enjoy your cruise. If you’re in Delco, we’re neighbors.
  9. Thank you. That sounds good. I think 10:00 should work better. Thanks for luggage tag info. I forgot about that.
  10. Help needed from those of you who have recently sailed on Carnival Venezia. We will sail on Venezia in October and will need to meet up with our private car service after disembarking. I’m guessing we’ll arrive back in NY around 8 AM. I want to advise the pick-up service of an approximate time we should be off the ship. Also, we will need to pick up our luggage in the terminal before exiting and that takes a little time. I know times can vary, but can those of you who have disembarked from Venezia in Manhattan tell me what time you were able to get off of the ship? Don’t know if it matters, but I think there will only be one other ship in port when we return. Thanks in advance everyone.
  11. We’re really looking forward to following along on your journey and anyone else’s LIVE accounts of their time on Venezia. We board her in October 2023. Thank you all for taking the time to do LIVE reviews.
  12. Thanks for your response njhorseman. It looks like the Crystal Serenity is the other ship at the Manhattan terminal when we return. Maybe that will make it a bit easier.
  13. Does that fiasco also include being picked up with the car service company that dropped us off. Asking because one of us will be using their mobility scooter. That would be treacherous crossing the street.
  14. Thanks for the review. We are looking forward to Venezia in October, but we felt just a tiny bit apprehensive with some of the reviews. In any case, I’m sure we’ll have a nice time as we know a cruise is what you make it. A couple questions: -Room Service-Looks like you need to call or use app for Room Service, is that right? -How popular are the Venetian Masks and were they used on a certain night? -Are folks becoming more familiar with how the elevators operate? -If you tried any of the specialty restaurants, specifically Teppanyaki, did you book beforehand, or after you boarded. I’m guessing we should book before? Thanks again.
  15. We will be leaving from New York (Manhattan) cruise terminal on a Carnival cruise in October. One in our group has requested wheelchair assistance through Carnival’s Special Needs Dept. to board the ship. Does he report to a certain area in the terminal, or how does it work? I’m guessing he just goes to the area in most terminals where folks who may require assistance are seated Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks for your review. We feel the same way; our cruise is what we make it. We are looking forward to our Venezia cruise this October. Thanks again.
  17. I suppose it depends on why we do cruise vacations, and what our expectations are when we cruise. For us, the entertainment on a ship isn’t a huge part of why we sail on a particular ship. We look at the ports, days at sea, not cooking for a week or more, relaxing, and just having a nice time. As far as comparing cruise lines for entertainment, food, etc., you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. I’m pretty sure there are issues occasionally on every ship and cruise line. When you run into problems, or things you may not have enjoyed on your journey, try and get past it and move on folks. Life is too short. P.S. after our 2nd cruise on the Carnival Pride, I said I probably wouldn’t cruise on Pride again because of some ridiculous reason, but a year later we gave it another try and in Sept. 2022 we completed our 7th cruise on the Pride.
  18. That’s something you should have brought to their attention; Maintenance would have been able to fix or replace the door.
  19. Thanks for taking us along. We love your outlook and agree with what you said…it is what it is, and you made the best of it. We too really like the Pride and have been on her many times from Baltimore. In fact, we have Venezia next and Legend after that and I’m giving serious thought to switch Legend in March to Pride for April. We look forward to your next Live review.
  20. After reading about your very extended journey home, we’re happy we have ports we can drive to from the Philadelphia area; NY/Bayonne, Baltimore, even Boston if need be. While it leaves us with repeat visits in many cases to locales we’ve been to many times before, we are happy not to have to deal with the airlines. So glad you enjoyed the cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed following along.
  21. Don’t know how I’m so late in following, but looking forward to catching up. We have cruised many times on Carnival Pride; our favorite. Enjoy your cruise.
