  1. If your ship is tendering, then you go to the pier at the old port area and join the line for the tender. If your ship is docked at the new port area then you go to the pier at the old port area and take the water taxi back to the ship. It is just the opposite of how you got ashore.
  2. Isn't the difference in presentatons/plating between ships unreal! This is the same Caneletto dish served on Nieuw Statendam in April! It was a great meal.
  3. I always presumed that they were there for that reason......to take off the ship. Have done it numerous times.
  4. The exchange rate does not come into the equation. Our cruises are priced in Euro and the FCD that we purchase are paid in euro. Only other currency relates to the OBC, which is US dollars as that is the on board currency. When you purchase FCD's onboard, they will be charged to your credit card in £ stg so £60 each. When you look at cruises they are priced in £ stg. Book a cruise between 2 and 21 days and the FCD becomes the total deposit and nothing more to pay until final payment date. The other big PLUS is that we can cancel the booked cruise (during the cancellation period) and there are no charges and the FCD is credited back to our account. This happens in EU so check if it works for STG currency too. 'You know it makes sense' 😉
  5. Perfect, and probably have your boarding card for the DUB FCO flight. So, it will be easy! Through immigration to the taxi line and off to Malahide. Purchase the 'Fast Track' for security and you will be good with 90 minutes before your flight at a maximum to be back in the airport. Even an hour would probably be safe as it is an intra eu flight (presuming you have boarding card and fast track security) and apart from the one security check there will be no other delays for you
  6. That is a great suggestion, however OP is arriving in Dublin and flying to Rome, so Pre Clearance is not relevant this time.
  7. Will your baggage be checked through to Rome from your original airport in US or will you need to collect you bags and re check them for the flight to Rome? Will you have your 'boarding card' for the flight from Dublin to Rome? If your bags are checked through to Rome and you will have your boarding cards, then it would be possible to visit some of Dublin. I would suggest you pre book 'Fast Track' security (there is a fee for this) at Dublin Airport. https://www.dublinairport.com/#fasttrack-tab-handle-12 This will reduce your time in the security line on your return to Dublin Airport. To see some of Ireland, without going into central Dublin, could I suggest a visit to Malahide Castle and the village of Malahide.... https://www.malahidecastleandgardens.ie/
  8. Did anyone take a trip to Zandvoort for the F1 practice and qualifying?
  9. With a cruise in May 2025 there will be no problem. Even if the ETIAS site is live, there will be at least 6 months when it will not be obligatory to have applied.
  10. Well, two reasons would be: 1. is automatic updates turned on or off? 2. is the OS of the device capable of handling the update? I am having trouble making a rhyme out of them 😉
  11. Good point! Though I would first check with front desk if they would be in a position to help if there was a problem after the upgrade.
  12. Which element isn't working? I would be inclined to wait until home again before updating.
  13. As mentioned above, there is a ticket kiosk at the port exit. There is also a kiosk at the terminal that is furthest from the exit and buses parked just beside the kiosk.
  14. Thanks for the Bread Pudding Photo....its been a long time 😍 You really need to do Nordkapp around the end of June to get the best 'midnight sun' experience.....walking the Promenade Deck at midnight with your sunglasses on! For Northern Lights you would need to be there September at the earliest.......so plan two cruises 😉
  15. You really should try a 'Nordkapp' cruise through the Arctic Circle and on to Hammerfest and Honningsvag.....truly amazing!
  16. Appears to be something wrong with the HAL website (surprise there!) and by extention, the booking engines of the other websites. I have successfully 'booked' May 24th, May 31st, June 7th and June 14th, using Chrome Incognito. Was able to process all the way through to entering passenger details.
  17. providing you stay airside then it is very unusual to require processing by immigration (where EES will be captured) at a European airport. If so, we would have to reconsider our flight due to the predicted long ques would make us miss our connecting flight (we have about 2 hours) If you are on one ticket then the airlines will have considered this possibility in offering the connecting flights.
  18. Please read the links in post #15 No one will need to get an EES. It is a process that will happen at the border crossing and your biometric data will be collected. Would we still need to apply for EES at the airport which might make us miss our connection? Again, you do not 'apply' as it is a process that will occur as you transit the airport, but it is unlikely if you are staying 'airside'.
  19. There is a 'concert' at the Acropolis on the evening of September 28th so between set up and break down the area will be closed. https://www.nuclearblast.com/blogs/news/septicflesh-announce-concert-live-under-the-acropolis-of-athens
  20. 2025/26 South America/Antarctica was released 13th November 2023. So probably around November/December 2024, but do not depend on HAL to be regular!
  21. The answer is simple......You as a US citizen travelling on a US passport do not need an ESTA to travel. However if anyone in your party not a US passport holder then they will need an ESTA and that may be why the 'popup' appeared. It may also just be bad IT or BA covering their a$$e$. Bureaucracy does not believe in simple. It's job protection!
  22. I can't find my Luggage Direct form from early 2020 but Roger @Crew News has a 2019 copy posted on his wonderful website. https://rogerjett-photography.com/here/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Luggage-Direct-FLL.pdf 11.30 am to midnight for departures from FLL
  23. Club Orange is No, but you will get double points if booked in a suite (not an upgrade/upsell) and we have always received extra points for having HIA.
  24. 😭😭BYOC (Bring Your Own Crackers!) I pack my own supply now. It has become a habit, a bad habit. p.s. the cheese selection looks rather poor, too. 🙄
  25. Yes they are on the deck plans but not on the graphic showing available staterooms when you are making an online booking.
