  1. Did you book with a travel agent? Then call them to do it. If you booked directly then it may be a bit more difficult. Although the Southampton office still exists, the numbers for HAL now transfer to a call centre 'out east' and the level of experience is low. When is your cruise and how popular are the excursions? You may have to cancel and rebook. I would not be expecting HAL to automatically do anything. Ofcourse, you could play safe and purchase HIA, rebook the excursions, then cancel the prepaid ones. I don't know if you can cancel wifi online, so you may have to call the call centre anyway.
  2. Good morning from Nieuw Statendam, currently at the northern tip of Bay of Biscay heading towards the English Channel and then Rotterdam. It is a very pleasant spring morning onboard.
  3. Navigator is a robust tool to use (not!) We returned from our HAL excursion to Santiago and there was a message on Navigator to review the excursion..... So I clicked the link and got ..... . Why do they post this garbage?
  4. Currently $19 + 18% service charge per person.
  5. Tonight's Lido special was "Spanish Port to Table" it was really good. The seafood paella was the best and most authentic that I have tasted in a long time. But I am not sure of the Spanish background of steak and kidney pie, except with the ex pat community along the coast of southern Andalusia.
  6. Important information for those boarding Nieuw Statendam soon.....specially for Baltic/ Norway cruises. (Wet weather!) Bring your own umbrellas! There are no umbrellas in closets in verandah rooms and today, even though it was raining when we disembarked to go on our tour, there was no sign of any HAL umbrellas carried by other cruisers. So with my powerful sense of presumption, I guess no umbrellas supplied. Again, bring you own!

  10. We took HAL tour to Santiago de Compestela. Journey to Santiago took just over an hour. It was torrential rain when we were there. Some photos refreshments, including wine were available in the Parador in the square.
  11. A belated buenas dias from La Corunna, in Gallicia, Spain. Wevare currently on a HAL tour to Santiago de Compestela.
  12. Morning! It is already Thursday hereπŸ™„ I am using a Samsung s6 lite for the first time. (DW. objected to laptop, adapters , keyboard etc taking up space at her makeup stationπŸ˜‰). Although the URL flashes onscreen for a second iI cannot see the URL for any reasonable time. on the app. Any suggestions? We are ashore for most of the day but will try again later.
  13. Thanks for the info. Will stay in a bar and check it out 😁πŸ₯ƒ
  14. Upgrade was offered at $213 for a 14 day cruise that we are currently onboard.
  15. I would be parked outside the spa complete with placards, giving a warning to all that pass by. Get my $300 value that way.
  16. Here is a new one for me on HAL. just glancing at tomorrows Daily, there is a notice regarding Spanish vat. No other information offered. Such as, how do we know when we are in Spanish waters? Twelve nautical miles is hard to judge with the naked eye. What happens with HIA and other packages? Not complaining about the tax, but the lack of clarity.
  17. I find that difficult to understand. Guest services process the onboard account and collect payment. Why can they not just refuse to process the charge and return it to the spa because it has not been signed by the guest?
  18. I started with two Lychee Martinis from Tamarind. I have a threatening addiction to them. I had the crab cakes to start Ellen had a Romaine salad without anchovies and without quail egg, so I reckoned no one would want to see a picture of a leaf of lettuce 🫣 for mains I had the seared scallops. They were good. A good sear and nicely cooked. Ellen had the lamb chops, cooked to her requested temperature (scorchio or beyond well done). We shared a portion of mash potatoes and side of baby beets and blue cheese. for desert we shared sorbet and a creme brulee followed by tea, coffee and chocolates. It was an enjoyable meal but in no way would I consider it worth the listed upcharge of $49 + 18% each
  19. Tonight was our Pinnacle Grill dinner which was part of HIA promo. Here is the menu pinnacle_grill_dinner_menu_winter_2024_en_navigator_1_.pdf
