I don't remember any car rental at the cruise port. You will probably need to go to the airport to collect a rental car. The airport is almost within the city itself so not a big deal. I don't think it would pay the rental companies to have an office at the cruise port.

Last week I 'wait listed' two excursions, one of which had an optional departure time. I wait listed both departure times. Next day I received an email that all 3 excursions were available to book. It took about an hour after the email before they appeared in my 'Shopping Basket'. No payment is required to waitlist. If it becomes available to book, then you have 72 hours to confirm and pay.

@washiotter By any chance can you remember disembarkation times in Copenhagen? What was the latest time offered? We have a very late flight home and I am trying to organise the day.

There are tour buses parked just outside the port gates offering tours to Olympia, but they tend to wait until the bus is full before departing. Any time we have been in Katakolo they have been very popular and no one was reported late back to the ship!

I don't quite understand what you are asking. What exactly are you looking to be open in late October? Costa Brava is scenery - which never closes! Is there a specific building you want to visit? Is it the city of Girona? What is the itinerary of the tour company?

I would stay in the VH as there is very little difference (apart from layout of bed) in a Vista vs VH. You do not get double mariner points and the room you already have is as midships as the vistas are. Only the view downwards is obstructed. Unless of course, you are offered a Aft view Vista.

If you are anywhere in Spain on 1st November then beware! It is Todos Santos (All Saints day) and a national holiday. Most things are closed (except restaurants, bars etc) and it is a real family day (visiting cemeteries and honouring their deceased family members).

I cannot find a release in 2022 mentioning UK/Europe. It was only on 1st February 2022 that the release was issued including Canada into the promotion, as previously it was USA only. I wouldn't even consider arriving the day of the cruise! The transfer time from FCO (Rome airport) to Civitavecchia (cruise port) is 60 - 90 minutes depending on traffic. Getting your bags etc in the airport will take up to 60 minutes. Where are you flying from? What passport do you have? Can you change your flights? I don't believe that any HAL transfer will be available at that time on embarkation day.
