The Getaway is not due in Belize for a bit yet. She does not arrive back in Miami from Her stint as a floating hotel in Rio until this Friday. Then She has a two night cruise and goes into Her winter schedule on the 4th of September.

I spend 22 days on The Pearl a number of years ago and would love to go back.
As you sail out tomorrow, go outside on Deck 7 on the city side of the ship. You will see the Seattle Space Needle built for the 1962 World's Fair. There is a restaurant that revolves all the way around at the top and an observation level above it.
Enjoy

The Jewel is still in Alaska. The first Mexican Rivera cruise is still over one month away.
-
The Escape has been sailing at 7 P.M. for a number of cruises now.

Any cruise line can change itineraries with or without notice. This one was done several weeks ago. Could have been done for a variety of reasons. Without my checking, my guess would based what Norwegian said at the time, there were too many cruises docked or at anchor on a particular day.

David McCoullough's
The Path Between The Seas
The Creation of the Panama Canal 187-1914
It was published in 1977.
Excellent book but very long and detailed. I have a large paperback copy that is 615 pages in length.

NO you have to renew. It has to be valid for 6 months.

Callimero is correct. Captain Hoyt left Norwegian shortly after he brought The Escape to Miami last November.

Was on The Getaway Thanksgiving 2014- lots of Thanksgiving decorations up. Traditional turkey dinner including green bean casserole. Lots of fun.

Remember that your date of August 29, is just prior to Labor Day Weekend. Lots of people tend to take extra time off then- so date is a little so it can be processed in a prompt manner.

I did a b2b on the Getaway last December and was required to do both muster drills and I had the same cabin.
You will be given a letter mid week outlining the procedure, place and time to meet to be escorted off and back on. If I remember correctly I had to take the cruise contract for the next cruise and my passport with me. The passenger count on the ship has to go done to zero before you are allowed back. Should not take very long to complete the process. You are given a sticker like a name tag that says "In Transit".

Just Tampa.
In ports of call it is usually 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
-
The menu's rotate on a daily basis on side of the menu and weekly on the other side.
New menu's are slowly coming out to each ship in the system.

Yes, one of the Main Dining Rooms is open, the one that is Deck 6 Aft, I think.

I booked this cruise as soon as it was available. For me, it was a good deal.
I have had a number of cruises on The Jewel in fact heading out again on Her in less than 7 weeks.
I have never been to Hawaii either and this was just too good a deal to not take advantage. I am planning to spend at least a couple of days in Honolulu at the end of the cruise.
Would I recommend this cruise: OF COURSE
Booking whenever, you wise. Prices might change a bit. My guess would be that some categories of cabins may sell out rather quickly. I can see balconies, suites especially the forward and aft ones going first.
The day I had this booked, I started the Roll Call for it. As of this morning we have 5 members on the Roll Call with 406 Days and 59 Weeks until this cruise.
Am I excited YES
Come join us.

She is sailing northward with 1100 passengers.
Arrives in Miami on Friday September 2nd. Does a 2 night cruise and then Her regular schedule on Sunday September 4th.

Did Thanksgiving on The Getaway is 2014. Wonderful time. You can make dining reservations aboard ship for any of the dining rooms. I had a very "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner complete with green bean casserole ( which I hate), I ate it anyway.
Thanksgiving is NOT just an American holiday. Canada celebrates its Thanksgiving, this year on Monday October 10th. They make a bigger production out of it than we do. The last time I was on a cruise for the Canadian Thanksgiving- a buffet was set up in one of the dining room extensions. the gentlemen all wore tuxedos and the ladies in beautiful long formal dresses.

Had to divert a long distance to do a passenger medical evacuation. Arrived in Rio 10 hours behind schedule.
-
The ship is the Norwegian Getaway. Beginning the long sail back to Miami sometime tomorrow. Hopefully the journey home is better than the journey down.
-
The Getaway was 10 hours late arriving in Rio because they had to divert course in order to do a medical evacuation of a passenger.
My guess this that the poster missed an off ship purchased excursion.

We will be travelling on Norwegian Getaway on Dec 11th 2016 for the second time. We are a group of 8 (2 adults 6 kids ranging from 17 to 10 months old). I am sick of paying nearly $800 for an excursion...has anyone gone with a private excursion company and felt safe, we are going to Belize, Honduras, Cozumel and Costa Maya. I really wouldn't mind just going to a beach especially with the baby but want to still book through a private excursion. Thanks
I have qualms about two ports of call on this itinerary:
(1) Belize: (a) How much damage was done with the latest hurricane and how much may be done with the one heading in their direction?
(b) What about Harvest Caye? Will it be open in Mid- November as currently scheduled? Any hurricane damage needing to be repaired or replaced?
(2) Costa Maya: Will we be able to dock as scheduled? Costa Maya has an unprotected dock. High winds and wave action can make it impossible to dock. I know several Captains' whose nickname for Coast Maya is Costa Missa.

Join a very active Roll Call for this cruise and ask for suggestions.
After reading comments over the last several days about people not being able to get their money back from private excursion operators because cruise being delayed into a port or a port of call is canceled for some ( possible with this cruise depending on the weather), not am not sure about booking anything not with Norwegian. If you book through Norwegian and something happens, like a port of call being canceled, you would automatically get your money credited to your account.
Personally, I would NOT book anything not Norwegian and I am on your cruise.

Where did the report come from?
Posting from people on board waiting to disembark and from several waiting to embark. Neither group knew the reason.

Right BOA points are NOT Norwegian points. Because you upgraded, that is considered a new booking. Sometimes not even Norwegian perks are transferable to new bookings.
I would think your best bet would be to see if BOA can help- maybe apply their OBC to your account.

Last year I did ALL of my Christmas shopping at Tongas Trading on the pier in Ketchikan.
Enjoy the ship, staff and your cruise.
