  1. In this case, though, it does day 6:00 pm. Some other sailings show 5:00 pm I am wondering if they have changed up their usual early departure???
  2. Go by the ports and itineraries, then factor in the ship. I do not know about all of the ports. I notice that the first one visits Princess private island beach. Most would give that up for different ports. But, that is personal preference. You know which ports interest you the most! Just do a little research on each one. Look at the Princess excursions listed for each Port. This will give you a feel for each port when you look at that. As far as the ships... I, for myself, like the Regal. The regal has Crooners at the Piazza, which adds to the Piazza. Sky, does not. The Regal has an open Retreat pool area with more seating. The Sky has enclosed the sides of the Retreat pool area with additional cabins. Both have the AFT wake-view pool and bar. All of these are good for a warm weather cruise. Both have the Standard Sabatini's and Crown Grill specialty specialty uncharge restaurants. Sky has Bistro Sur La Mer, the additional upcharge specialty restaurant. So, that is good if the additional dining is a big thing on your cruising checklist. Sky has more cabins with larger extended balconies, forward and aft on Dolphin deck. The standard balconies on these ships are small, and so this makes it easier to find a larger balcony on the Sky. : )
  3. I am thinking that the ships usually depart Princess cays late afternoon. Maybe 4:00. With the last ferry 30 minutes prior. But, I am seeing an itinerary that has a sea-day following Princess Cays, and the hours are listed from morning until 6:00 p.m. Has anybody ever had such a late departure from Princess Cays? If we did this, we would definitely be back on the ship in the afternoon. But I am just curious as to how it would work out. When would the bars and amenities be closed down. Would the Cabanas still close by mid-afternoon? With Dine My Way, I am assuming that this would not have much affect on dining. As it might with the old traditional early dining.
  4. Same thing here... no response from our PVP, regarding the issues with payments on their system lately.... I got on the CHAT, and it actually didn't take long for a rep to answer and to complete that payment for us.
  5. To answer the original question... Except for the Coral to Alaska, we have sailed newer ships, and have never experienced problems with plumbing. Only, on the Coral, the slight odor that many had noticed and posted about in a couple of areas, like near the Theater.
  6. Kleenex and so-called 'flushable' wipes are NOT necessarily flushable. Especially on a cruise ship. I am thinking that the box tissues provided on the shops are the easily degradable type of tissue. But the Kleenex, and Puffs, that most people buy are def. NOT flushable. It is entirely probable that passengers are bringing their favorite 'soft' products onboard and then flushing them, without realizing. Another thing that I have heard being found in the system is the sliced lemons that people have in their tea and drinks. I remember a thread like this where one person was understandably offended when told "You caused the problem..." (always easy to pass the blame). when their Princess Cabin Steward was flushing these things when they cleaned!!!!! Sorry. but if all cruise staff are not well trained, then OMG what most everyday people/passengers might flush. I think that this info should be make a part of the safety drill, and all adult passengers should be required to sign/check off that they have '"read the information and warnings and agree to...." Probably wouldn't help... but maybe?
  7. I am not sure, but I think you would find an extra stand-up or two onboard... There will certainly still be the ships band, and the rmusic. But I imagine that they would take some extra time at the Theater and Vista for a comic, instead of an extra singer or musical act. There is often an extra entertainer or two. Could be anything from when they had the Beatle-maniacs, or a noted opera singer, things like that. I don't think that all of the regular music. (ships band, ships orchestra, Crooners) would still be there. Many just lose a bit of their time?
  8. Trying to answer more of your questions. I believe that you can now pay the difference for the more expensive drinks. The drink package is good on Princess Cays, but they do not have fountain soda, so I believe they will charge for the canned soda. I can't compare nightlife to MSC, but I would venture guess that it is a bit more subdued than other lines like Carnival. There might be some kind of band or event in the Piazza. There is Club 6, which is not a really large venue. The shows, and a comedian onboard. Check out what is scheduled for the Vista Lounge.
  9. First, things can always change!!! I love the REGAL. I love the large Piazza, International Cafe there for food sweets and snacks, That is where the coffee bar is for your good coffee beverages with your package. Alfredos is also something you should plan for. I love the Sanctuary, but if you can not board early, spots canl all be filled. If you are looking for that kind of thing, pool, etc, sailing from FLL, then you can also head to the Retreat pool early and get a nice spot. (I have seen them eventually remove towels/etc left for too long to free up loungers) Others who were recently onboard can fill you in with more info about. the shows. I am thinking, guessing, that the two main shows are Bravo and Rock Opera. Princess shows can be very good. Do get to the Theater early... the shows can be popular and fill up the Theater on some Princess cruises. Have you sailed Princess before? I believe that they will have the earlier priority boarding for Platinum/Elite/and Suite guests. If you are not in the US or Canada, then you might not receive your Medallion before sailing. I am in the U.S. so I am not familiar with any of the process and differences. Sorry!!!
  10. Does anybody here have any idea what the new promotion(s) will be?
  11. Maybe somebody knows this. We would be looking at options for the day, including the Sanctuary if we get lucky with availability, or maybe a bungalow. I don't know what the cancellation deadline is if you can cancel onboard. Preboarding cancellation must be 5 days before sailing. Does anybody think there would be any problem cancelling on embarkation day, or the day at sea before Princess Cays. It does say that onboard cancellations will be given any refund as onboard credit. That would be okay. It is just that we wouldn't know if we could get in the Sanctuary, or weather, etc... until boarding.
  12. If you do get upgraded, but do not like the specific cabin, because it is adjoining, or above a venue, once you have that upgrade, you can then switch to another cabin that is in that upgrade category.
  13. If we book a cabin that is a mid-ship balcony obstructed... larger balcony looking over the mid-ship bump out on Royal Class. I wonder if they would try to upgrade to a deluxe balcony that is not mid-ship that is actually obstructed by a lifeboat. A deluxe mid-ship obstructed would be good, or a non-obstructed balcony. Unless that is all the way forward, maybe on the highest decks. In this case, I wonder if they could actually come up with a deluxe balcony or a non-obstructed balcony that would be a bad upgrade? I guess ANY deluxe, even non mid-ship, or ANY non obstructed balcony would be possible?
  14. I too wonder about Princess offered testing? Does anyone have good info, from Ft Lauderdale? How would one get a Proctored antigen test? Can you bring your own, and do this at port?
  15. Could you go to the nearest pharmacy and do the test kit, and get documentation from the Pharmacist? I wonder if Princess would accept that. If they needed the PCR we would use CVS, because that it online and you can show those results. But, that is more expensive.
  16. Princess is not allowing to bring your own test kit? Any experience on using their testing at Ft Lauderdale?
