Laurie we had this discussion several years ago. We each had big term policies when kids were little. We’ve converted both to paid up whole life policies (no more insurance payments). The whole life policies continue to earn dividends. With our pensions, & savings we don’t need big insurance policies. Both of our pensions have survivor benefit plans too.
Les has his gallbladder surgery tomorrow afternoon Melody
Thinking good thoughts for Les & his surgical team tomorrow.

Condolences to Sarah, Pauline & Graham for Sarah's dad passing. Hope springs eternal for reconciliation but sometimes it never happens...I'm sorry.

For us today is take the dog to his groomer/boarding kennel, come home & pack to stay near SeaTac in prep for our 5 hour flight to Maui tomorrow for 2 weeks. Cancelled last year since we had done the 35 day HAL cruise & we were vacationed out. Hoping for sun & nice weather!

@Heartgrove We thought our now 14+ year old Eskipoo was getting near the end in January, 2023. We obtained a list of vets who would euthanize him here at home. Fast forward a year, he's slower than he was & can't jump up on the couch but he's still alive & kicking - loves his daily .7 mile walk at the park, sometimes acts like he got new batteries put in. You just never know....

Unusual question, but is anyone else having trouble accessing their FB account? Mine isn't working and I can't seem to install a new password either. I'm hoping it's a glitch and I haven't been hacked.
Yes, I am. Got in earlier but not now.

I agree about the volume. They are really really good, but really loud. If they could dial back the sound a squidge, it'd be perfect.
I don't like the 'open' area they're in on the K - I prefer the 'room' they were in on the smaller ships.

I'll raise a glass to all the certified nurses in the world -- I became an Orthopedic Certified Nurse by taking (& passing) an ortho specific test!!!
And my 5 bean chili was a hit yesterday...

@smitty34877 Thanks for the explanation -- my daughter is from my 1st marriage & DH adopted her & we have a son together. I can tell there is lots of love in your household from your posts. ❣️

@smitty34877 Really NOMB - but what relation is Tana to you? I thought she was your daughter but your today's post mentions your DD & Tana.
@dfish The 6-bean chili (minus the navy beans 'cause I couldn't find any in the 3 stores I went to) is simmering in the crockpot.

Again, HUGE YAY @JazzyV -- so glad you're having less pain & moving better!!! Keep it up!

For our 35 day cruise it made sense but for shorter cruises, it probably wont. We likely won't do any ship excursions (been to all the ports), don't need wi-fi & we're happy with our cabin choice. We purchased Club Orange because we had a great experience with it.

@JazzyV YAY on the longer sleeping & bigger YAY on the lesser pain! I'm still fighting the dull aches in my back & left leg.

Just did a web search and found this:
The American Geriatric Society (AGS) has placed meclizine on the Beers list of medications to avoid in patient over 65 years old because of the strong anticholinergic properties resulting in increased risk of confusion, falls/fractures, and overall mortality.@ger_77 I assume no responsiblity if any of the above occur after I send them to you.... 🙂

Saw some pretty decent reviews of these but want 'real' people to comment, if you can. TIA.

Unfortunately all I found there was non-drowsy natural ginger Bonine, none that contained meclizine. They do, however, have a plethora of barf bags for sale!
I'm now regretting having given all of mine away to my friends and not keeping a few for myself. I know Costco in the US carries it, but they also won't ship to Canada. And unfortunately the nearest Walgreens or CVS is around 600 miles away. LOL
Send me your address at patspal162@yahoo dot com & I'll mail you some....I don't know how many are in a package/bottle -- how many do you want?

We were looking for a hotel in San Diego in December - everything was Sold Out - turns out there's a medical convention in town ...
You might do a Google search for conventions in town for your dates.
