Looking forward to this one, I really enjoyed my Virgin sailing earlier this year.

Great comparison of Royal/Celebrity. I agree with your overall opinions. I'm D+/Elite and as DH doesn't drink alcohol I use the Happy Hour drinks. It's from 5 to 7 and as we usually have dinner at 7 I have a couple of cocktails. listen to music and then get a couple of glasses of wine to bring with me to dinner, On my last Celebrity cruise there were also invited wine tastings, music and mixology event and welcome back parties with free flowing drinks. Also mimosas and bloody mary.s at the Captains Club breakfast.
As an Expat I also enjoy the "English Breakfast" in the Oceanview Cafe as well as the ice cream in the afternoon.
The vibe of the Celebrity ships seems to be more refined but is not stuffy at all
I have Symphony of the Seas booked for November and Reflection for December so am still sailing both lines at the moment, can't choose just one line.

Interesting discussion on RSV vaccine today. DH and I have the same primary physician and she strongly recommended that he get the vaccine but that I don't need to make it a priority. Flu shot and new Covid vaccine were to be my priorities this year. I am up to date with other vaccines. DH does have multiple medical problems, but as I take him to all of his doctor/ hospital visits I've scheduled to get the RSV vaccine in a couple of weeks. After all medical facilities are generally full of people with medical problems including infections!!

@Arzeena You will not experience long lines boarding Equinox!! Reset your mind from Royal to Celebrity. 😁
Unless there is also an Edge class ship in port and your ship has to use terminal 19!!

In about 2 hours, our ride to FLL will be picking us up to got to Adventure, just one week late.
And, for my first cruise ever, I will be wearing my Pinnacle badge.
Have a great time cruising. Make sure to keep the treated area out of the sun, skin will still be sensitive and the Caribbean sun can be strong. Being at sea is a great relaxer, you deserve it.

The thing is, that they WOULD be boarding from the US then visiting foreign ports then returning to the US...
It has to be a distant foreign port, Which is why repositioning cruises from Miami to Boston/NY go south and stop at Curacao, Aruba or Cartagena. theses ports are considered South American.

Just see her sailing by my condo, Fall is here in So Flo when ships arrive back from Alaska and Europe

Or , take the Catalina Express in Long Beach to Avalon . Stay at the Pavilion Hotel or splurge and stay at Mt Ida.
Double like on this! When I lived in LA this was my GETAWAY weekend trip.

My TA ( a former RCCL CVP) called and got clarification.
Sept 8th was supposed to be the first of a B-5-B. I wouldn't have minded the refund AND FCC for the 15th but....nope.
Are you still going to do the available cruises?

Just got home from "Bon Voyage" dinner with friends. Still sad that cruises were cancelled but overall feel that Royal did the best they could even though I would have appreciated a little earlier notification. Before checking in for my flight would have been ideal!
I did look at booking another cruise from Vancouver this weekend but it didn't work. This was probably going to be DH's last long cruise as medical issues are going to prevent extended travel in the future. However we do live near Port Everglades so I'm sure we will catch a few cruises from there in the upcoming months. We have been blessed to have the opportunity to cruise and visit so many countries and hopefully will be on a ship again soon, even a 3 day sounds good now!
NOT looking forward to unpacking tomorrow, it is never my favorite thing. but at least I don't have to do laundry this time.!!!

I have really enjoyed following your trip, especially the Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire ports. Brought back many childhood memories of annual trip from Manchester to Galway in the summer to visit parents family farms to 'help with bringing in the hay' I was in Dublin for a day last October, can't wait to go back!

I use this service in Hollywood. Rides cost $2 per rider (used to be free). I downloaded the app and use it fairly regularly to get to the Broadwalk for my walks.
Looks like it still free in Ft Lauderdale.

My feet and ankles always swell up on cruises. I’m going try wearing compression socks at night in bed with my feet elevated.DH was told to NOT wear compression in bed. Only during the day. He does have his feet elevated at night.

I went for my annual physical Tuesday and asked my Physician about vaccinations. She recommended that I wait for the "new" Covid booster even though I could get the existing one now. She also said that I really don't need to get RSV vaccine. She is aware that we are cruising in Alaska next month, but said I seem to have a good immune system. I have not had covid yet, at least as far as I know.
My DH tested positive for Covid last year and RSV earlier this year. no idea where he got exposed, but he has multiple medical comorbidities and she thinks he should get the vaccine for both before the trip .Hopefully next week
Flu shot will be done in the beginning of October.
Hope she is correct and I don't contract something on the trip/
