  1. Hi everyone,

Now at home relaxing after a busy day with DH. He decided that today was the day to buy a suit for his son's wedding which is in NY in September. He has been trying to get by with sport jacket and khakis but finally realized that "cocktail attire" required a suit!! It was not the easiest shopping experience as he is somewhat difficult to fit and really didn't want to do it but we ended up getting a nice suit and at what I think was a reasonable price. The pants were ordered as they didn't have the color in his size. Should be here next week and then the suit will be altered. Glad that the decision was made.

Thanks for all the photos of Hong Kong today, visited before the lease ran out but not by ship.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays healthy.

It's not better than nothing when you're likely to piss off your loyal big spender cruisers by establishing policy that caters to the one-off weekender crowd.

Many of the weekender crowd, as you refer to them, are NOT one off cruisers and many of those weekend crowds are frequent cruisers who live locally and cruise once or twice a month. If this was not a good source of revenue for royal I don't think they would be placing re amped freedom class ships on these routes.

Getting testing prior to cruise twice a month compared to twice a year is a big difference.

He may have some difficult times on the scooter. Can the scooter function on the sand? Your husband first has to the tram. Depending where you get off the ship, it's about a half mile to the tram. The tram doesn't go to the ship.

When I was at Coco Cay last month the tram did go to the ship both for pick up and drop off. I actually walked and DH rode his scooter until we reached the tram station on the Island. On the way back the tram dropped us off at the ship, the driver was very friendly and  informative and was telling us about life on the Island after the ships leave or I would have got off at the station and walked. We really didn't take the scooter in the sand as DH has difficulty walking and didn't want to swim at the beach. The pool has a walk in area which is much better for him as I can easily assist him.

As you are planning to go to the beach club, check with the staff on board re accessibility when you board.

Hi ,I'm going to Coco Cay & I am rent a scooter to use on the ship . When I get to Coco Cay I am also getting a pass for the coco beach club . Will I be able to get the scooter on the Tram or can I use the same path the tram takes to get to the beach club

My husband has his own mobility scooter and was able to  get it on the tram, there are several that have drop down ramps for scooters and wheechairs

  5. Good morning everyone from a cloudy SoFlo. At least it isn't raining today.

plans for today include cleaning, it really seems to get away from me with travelling and DH doctor appointments. As soon as he wakes up I'm ready to start.

@kazu good luck with new family member, she certainly looks like she needs some care and attention, you are wonderful for taking on the task.

Thoughts for everyone going through challenges at the moment, and to those on the celebration list ENJOY!

Free car wash! I had a devil of a time getting my key fob open to change the battery the last time I got the low battery warning. Enjoy your coffee and cake! When I was visiting BFF's family in Germany, afternoon coffee and cake was a big thing every day at my hosts' house.

I also couldn't open my fob last time and as I was going the dealer for service the next day I had them do it. This time the locksmith, who was a really nice lady, showed me how to do it. Hopefully I'll remember if I need to do it again.

  7. Finally home after a somewhat frustrating day. The garage in my condo is undergoing renovations and my car gets very dusty so I take it to a drive through car wash about twice a week just to get the dust removed. Today I went to three car washes and none were working, I didn't want get a hand wash done so I figured it can wait another day. As I was driving towards home my car started beeping and a low key battery/ no key warning was flashing. As I knew I was near a locksmith that I have used previously I headed in that direction but when I got there it was permanently closed. Google to the rescue and I got directions to another which of course was in the direction I had just driven from. Now I have a new battery and no warnings in my car.

Off to the grocery store, managed to get everything on my list as well as Tres Leches cake. They had single servings at the bakery on special which was great as I really don't need to eat more sweets this week!

Just made it to my car before the heavens opened again, thunder and lightening directly above me. Then the drawbridge was raised so I was in my car in the storm with rain and wind buffeting the car.

The good news is the rain was so heavy that all the dust was washed off my car and I got everything I needed at the store.

I think it's time for coffee and cake, I deserve it!!

I'm usually up until around midnight depending on what is going on around the ship then go to the cabin and sit out on the balcony with a glass of wine before bed. I have to be up in the morning in time to get some coffee and catch the sunrise so always up before 5 AM.

Similar except I usually bring a rum old fashioned back to the cabin for balcony sipping. I especially like to see the western sky as on my balcony at home I see east.

  9. There are so many ways to post, computer, phone (iPhone Android Google) and various tablets as well as posters with different levels of knowledge, familiarity and physical abilities that affect how people post. The only important thing is acceptance of each other's methods and willingness to listen respectfully to suggestions for improvements,

As was just shown we can all keep on learning shortcuts and ways to simplify posting.

    Peace,

    Mary

I found that if you just press the and hold the start of the section you want to quote, and highlight the area and select the quote that pops up, you can then move to the next post you want to quote a portion of, and repeat, it will quote both with a space between to type your comment.

I'm amazed that I actually knew this and have used it when using my tablet to post. It's pretty useful  at times.

  11. Good morning everyone,

I have finally caught up with last week's postings. I was sailing on the Allure again, last minute booking one of the benefits of living near the Port!

I know I will miss someone if I try to reply individually so I wish everyone happy celebrations and strength to those going through difficulties at this time.

This group is appreciated and it is great to keep up with everything going on in each other's lives.

That's not good. Aperol should be a staple in any bar. Must have for Aperol Spritz and Royal's Passion Spritz.

Agreed, bar manager said he ordered it but none was supplied in Florida. He's hoping for some for the next cruise. The good news is they no longer seem to rationing cherries in the Rum Old-fashioned!

  13. Ship is busy typical summer sailing not too many high status cruisers. It seems better staffed than our cruise in May. So far the only item missing because of supply chain issues is Aperol!!!! Bartender in Trellis bar substituted Campari with my permission not quite the same but drinkable. Mint is in plentiful supply for my dark rum mojito this time.

The mosquitoes here are huge. And for some reason they love me. Linda and I have talked about getting a screened in porch just for that reason. As nice as our patio is I don't think we will be using it this week. Temps are ridiculously  hot.

Are you doing anything special excursion wise in Roatan?

Not this time DH uses a mobilty scooter now so we just rode around a little in the port area bought some local rum and gifts for his daughter. It's just nice to be on a ship and not have to think about what to make for dinner!

I was just notified a few minutes ago that Buddy has passed away.  My twin and her DH were able to be with their daughter Amy at her home.  I'm sure the two kids are there too but I have no more details.  It's not easy becoming a widow, but especially at age 47.  May he rest in peace.  Pray for strength for the family.🙏😢

So sorry to hear this, condolences and prayers for the family.
