I'd like to go out and pound a few more drinks, but with the movement of the ship, that may end up to be a bad idea... And, I'm famous for making bad decisions... I've got a long travel day ahead of me tomorrow, and much of it will be spent in the Miami airport. I had planned on trying to head over to the beach for awhile, but with the crummy weather, that may not be an option, but we'll see...
Sid, the weather forecast is locking OK for tomorrow. We had some sun and blue skies late afternoon today. Check it out in the morning when you arrive,

Good morning everyone from a very soggy SoFlo. It was raining all night, however the winds were light. Looking at the local news this morning there is flooding especially in downtown Miami as usual. Skies out my window are very gray and it's still raining. I haven't been downstairs to check the roads or garage, will go in a little bit. Don't think I'm going to walk to get my cortadito and empanada this morning. Weather should start clearing up around noon, hopefully the forecast is correct.
Wishing everyone a great weekend,
Mary

Good morning everyone from a wet and gloomy SoFlo, it started raining here a few hours ago but the heavy rain is not forecast until this afternoon. Only June 3 and under a tropical storm warning. Flooding seems to be the main danger with this storm. I have moved the balcony furniture inside just in case. Hopefully by Sunday it will be past us and we keep power on, I've got movies to watch!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays safe.

I developed a bit of a cough yesterday. Didn’t think much of it. Some other people in my department are out sick this week. It was mentioned by my boss today that something non-covid is going around.
I had a sandwich for lunch and it tasted nasty. I just threw it away thinking it was bad. On my way home from work I started to get a bit of a headache. Then tonight dinner tasted just as bad as lunch did. That’s when I knew I needed to test. The headache is much worse now.
Sorry to hear this, hopefully you will recover quickly.

I am home and doing well, although I will be heading to bed very shortly. The surgeon said it was a nasty gallbladder. That is what he told my friends in the waiting room. I'll have to wait a couple of weeks for a translation from him. Pain levels are tolerable at this point. I expect it will be much less tomorrow.
Great news, have a great night's sleep hopefully pain will be slight

@summer slope, do TV Ears work well for your DH? I had not heard of them, and just did a little research. If these help, it would be a godsend for my DH! Thank you for any comments you can share.
They work great, we have a set in the bedroom and living room. Easy to set up and use.

perfect description of my life with DH and his hearing issues!!
He "forgot" to bring his hearing aids on the last cruise, but was very pleased that he remembered the batteries that he forgot the time before!
When I come back from running errands he is usually watching the TV with the volume turned up painfully loud (at least to me)
TV ears are the best invention ever.

Good morning everyone from a rainy SoFlo. We had big thunderstorms for an hour last evening but it looks like it might clear up later today.
My dog care days are over for now, so I'm going to clean up today, its amazing how much mess a dog can create with his beds and toys!
If the weather clears up I'm going to watch the parade nearby. otherwise a quiet day at home..
Thinking of those who gave so much so we can enjoy our lives now.

Good morning everyone,
Just a quick post as I have been busy since I returned from my cruise last Sunday with family issues and also needed to emergently dog sit for a cousin. Although I haven't posted I have been reading every day, the Daily always is "go to" for me. For some reason this week I didn't want to post, just wanted to get get through things by myself. On previous occasions I have found the support of this group very welcoming and hopefully those who have shared both good and bad in their lives have also felt this support from the group.
Even though I have never met you I feel like I know you and look forward to continue to share in your lives and Travels.

As always I enjoy your descriptions of your food and drink in Miami. Photos of street art were amazing, you have such a great eye for composition. Looking forward to rest of your report.

Many years ago(1995) I was on the Celebration when it caught fire in the engine control room. 2 days at sea with no power until Ecstasy came to rescue us. We had to transfer via lifeboat and were assigned same cabin number on both ships. No effort was made to transfer to like cabins. Luggage was delivered to cabins. We couldn't bring any bags onto lifeboat with us. This should be a much easier process to organize as passengers can walk from one ship to another and appear to still have power to hotel operations.

Nice to live close to the port, isn't it.
Especially now I'm retired and don't have to deal with work schedules!!

When I was on the Allure earlier this year they ran out of mint for my mojito. As I was walking past the pool bar on embarkation day I heard 'Mary welcome back we have mint this cruise" amazing that they can remember names and drinks 🍷

Good morning everyone,
I am currently on the Allure of the Seas sailing to Aruba. Was able to book a last minute sailing that left 2 days after my brother returned to England. Have been keeping up with the Daily but not posting. Enjoying the cruise despite the lack of anticipation that normally precedes boarding. Pleased to say so far I haven't realized that I've forgotten anything. Wish I could say the same for DH!!
Regards to everyone

Hi, per CD Corey total passenger count this cruise is 5019. My time was crazy last night probably due to the alarm ended up going to WJ as DH got too impatient to wait. Food was good there.

I was just about to post the show schedule, have booked everything for the week no problems getting times I wanted. Had 1pm boarding time, was a little busy but took 25 minutes to board. It seemed that some people kept putting their phones away and were not used to finding documents on them.
Went to solarium for lunch food was good 👍

Hi everyone
I'm also on the Allure cruise on the 14th. It should be relaxing with those days at sea and Aruba and Curaco are great ports that we don't frequently visit.

As many of you know, over the past number of years I've knit toques almost every evening for distribution to inner city schools. Well I had a bunch of baby yarn given to me, but it was too fine to make toques, so I've got a new focus. I joined a provincial group "Prairie Blankets For Angels Volunteers" and am knitting blankets for "babies born sleeping", stillborn babies. When you think of it, they have to be buried in something, why not make it something nice and soft. There are 3 sizes we can make, 5", 10", and 20" square. I've already got a number of the 5 and 10 inch sizes done, and look forward to teaching myself how to crochet tiny angel wings to put on them.
this is amazing that you are doing this, brought tears to my eyes reading it..
