  1. I’m not confusing anything. All access is the bridge, galley, and theatre and as DP I get them all for free. Check your facts. Thank you.

There is an All Access Tour that you pay for, that also takes you to the engine room, laundry and other areas below on deck 1. The one for D+ does not go to all these places. They are two different tours. If you went to all these other places with the D+ tours, you were lucky. We did do the extended tour years ago on The Explorer’s Members Cruise as an extra perk for D&D+. But, that’s not normal. The price of the All Access Tour used to be $150 pp. It must have dropped in price.

  2. We were in Havensight. Many of the little shops were open. The larger buildings had a lot of damage. The skyride is not operational. Looks like one of the giant poles is bent or blown partly over. I have pictures on my phone but I am not sure how to post them. Crown Point will be closed for awhile. A Carnival ship is docked there. The FEMA workers and reconstruction crews are being housed on it.

Thanks for that information......good to know!

  4. Good news. I knew they would be so happy to see the cruise ships back in port. They count on us for their livelihood. I'm sure it gave them something to look forward to in the future, as more and more ships will visit.

What dock did you go to? Havensight or Crown Bay? I know Royal was supposed to start using Crown Bay only. Just wondered if they are sticking to that or are using Havensight. We will be there on Dec. 13th. Just wondering where we will dock.

    Thanks for the report.....

  6. Nice photos Gwen! Feel free to post any other pix you may have. Love seeing them.

Thanks Daisy, but, I just wanted to show that you do pass the Pitons while sailing into St. Lucia. It's just that you do it early in the morning. Last Dec. we had a balcony, so didn't have to get up and dressed when we passed them. This time we had an inside cabin and I had to get dressed before I went up on deck to take the picture. I was already too late, but, you could see them in the distance.

I was following your thread while I was on the cruise. I posted most of my pics on the FB Grandeur group. I didn't get off the ship, except for Antigua. I had to use a walker for a back problem when leaving the ship, so just decided to stay on. Antigua was not walker friendly. We returned back to the ship within a half hour.

We are doing this same cruise on Dec. 9th, so will try to get off the ship then. We will be going to our original ports from this cruise....St. Thomas and St. Maarten. And hopefully we will be docking at the good ports when we get to our scheduled ports. We had some not so nice docking areas on this cruise. But, that just made me stay on the ship and get some needed rest. Still had a great cruise. I love the Grandeur. This cruise was our "lucky" 13th time on her. She's our second home or our time share....;p

You did a nice review....was nice seeing the same cruise from another perspective......

  7. You might check the Martinique ports of call board:

Photobucket pictures don't work anymore but at least it will give you an idea what that excursion is like.

I too, used to use photobucket to post pics. Mad that they now charge a lot of $’s to be able to post to third party sites. But, just found out that I can post my photos directly to CC using my iPad. I just use the photo icon at the bottom of my post. Works great!

  8. Millbrook Mom:

When we were on this cruise last November it did not go by the Pitons.

We were on last December and we did go past the Pitons. But was very early in the morning. Probably around 6 am. We were also on this cruise and we went by the Pitons again...I just missed getting a good picture by about a 30 min. Here’s my pics. First pic is from last Dec. and the second pic is from this cruise ( you can see them in the middle of the picture).aec11f12091a6f18e2dd237a84a7e2db.jpg612f834348b9ccbc710aa8e20fde51e3.jpg

  9. After final payment for our cruise Dec. 9th on the Grandeur, balcony gty went on sale. I called and got upgraded to a balcony gty from an ocean view cabin for $4 total, plus I got $50 extra OBC. Only bad thing is, I haven't received my cabin assignment yet and the cruise is 4 weeks away. The balcony cabins have been sold out since a couple hours after I booked it. I hope they assign it soon. I'm not looking forward to finding out when I get to the cruise port! I don't know why it is taking them so long, if the cabins have been sold out weeks ago. Matter of fact, all the cabins are sold out! They better have one for me or I'll be sleeping in the Centrum......;p

  10. I have a gty balcony cabin for our Dec. 9th cruise on the ship, Grandeur. They are sold out of all cabins. I booked the gty about 4 weeks ago, right after final payment. They just released my documents today. I thought maybe they assigned my cabin so went to print my luggage tags and they have the heading for the balcony # and deck # blank. Is this how they do it if you don't get a cabin assigned until you get to the port? I always read that the porter or agent would tell you what your cabin # is and they would make you a tag. Maybe this is new. Just curious.

  11. I have had it a few times.

It was tasty, the only downside is it took a lot longer to get to our table than if ordering a regular main off the menu.

I’ve always had it on the Grandeur and it always came out the same time as the others. Wasn’t late either. I ordered it butterflied and medium. Maybe it depends on how long it takes them to cook it. Butterflied probably takes less time.

  12. There are quite a few people on your current cruise who are aware of your 'review' and I have no doubt if they figure out who you are, they will make sure that the 'local population' show you just how much your ASSumptions about their levels of intelligence are going to impact the amount of pleasure (or, rather, pain!) you have for the rest of your cruise.

P.S. My family are on the same ship as you. Have fun second-guessing everyone you introduce yourself to for the remainder of the cruise! :halo:

I’m on the ship now....great cruise. I’ve been on her during some really rough weather ( causing one of the cracks on the jogging track) and I’m still alive and cruising her again and again.

It’s good that some people don’t like her....makes more room for those that do!

  13. Thanks Gwen, we had since run into DeltaBlue and talked a long time. What a wonderful lady! Hope to meet you too...we're at the schooner bar every night after second seating dinner, known as the B52s from NY, group of 7, because we drink so many of them...lol. Just ask the waiters...they'll know.

I'll be honest, I was surprised how much storage we have in our JS but will check out the corner afts for next time. Love the aft cabins anyway. My brother's JS has the pole at the foot of the bed. It's worth it just for the jokes...lots of laughs.

We booked Anthem, 12 night for March 2019 (our homeport) on board a few days ago, but certainly look forward to cruising on Grandeur again.

Nice meeting you through the roll call. I didn't post much but checked in everyday. Come say hello and have a B52 with us.

Just remember, only the corner aft JS cabins on deck 7 have the walk in closets.

  14. We just had the Chops filet tonight for $10. I think they only do it one time on a cruise. I always ask the first night when it will be, but they never tell me until the night of. They do not advertise it at all. I thought maybe since they were offering a 25% discounts the other nights, they wouldn’t do the $10 offering. It was melt in your mouth and delicious. I ordered it butterflied and medium...perfect!

  15. Deck 8 is better than Deck 7. On Deck 7, avoid the port corner - it's right over the sound system of the stage in the South Pacific lounge.

We had that cabin, 7150, 2 yrs ago, but had no problems with the sound at all and we even go to bed early. It’s over the Diamond Lounge now. I loved it because it was a corner aft, had a partial side view and an awesome walk-in-closet that was almost bigger than the bathroom! I don’t think they do so much in the South Pacific Lounge at night anymore. Maybe the Quest, but, we really didn’t notice or were bothered by any sound. Maybe I was just so happy to finally get an aft JS, that I didn’t care about any noises. Lol

  16. Are you sure you are on RCCL’s Grandeur of the Seas? I am currently on the Grandeur and I do not agree with most of your comments and observations. I am not going to waist my time countering your complaints, as most of them are ridiculous.

We are having a great time on this cruise and so far have not encountered any problems.

I was going to say the same thing....we are on the Grandeur now too. She has to be on a different ship. Or maybe a paid critic from Carnival or other cruise line.

I have never read a worse review of a ship. I’ll stick to reading the other live review.

  17. Our luggage did not fit under the bed, so we had space in the cabin for them.3bf78bd7bc61c40c40d602e2dc631812.jpg85c85da162bbafe41b8d465f36c0a63e.jpg

The doors kept closing because of the rockiness. There's a set of 3 drawers inside the closet, but they keep opening up when the ship sways.

If you ever get a chance to book a JS again, try for a corner aft on deck 7 only....they have walk-in-closets to die for. It was almost bigger than the bathroom. I booked it for our 50th anniversary 2 yrs ago. Also had a nice big balcony.

  18. Delta blue didn't show up to the M&M so I'm not sure who she is but I can figure it out. I'll try.

I’m on the ship now too and DeltaBlue was at the M&M, but had to leave early.

I didn’t recognize almost all of the screen names of those who won the gifts....I guess they didn’t post much or were just lurkers.

I just saw you were doing a live review this morning after checking out CC. Have to go back through the posts to catch up and see what I might have missed.

You are doing a great job....

  19. Nice! I wonder if the OBC was from a promo going on now, and not for the price difference.

I think it was probably from the promo. I paid $4 for a gty upgrade, after final payment, for our December cruise and they also gave me a $50 extra OBC from the promo for that sale. We went from an OV to a gty balcony. The sale only lasted a couple hours. Still waiting for our cabin assignment. It’s been at least 3 weeks now. Don’t know why they can’t give us our assignment as they have been sold out of balconies since the sale......
