  1. So sorry you didn't have a great experience. Thank you for taking the time to post your review.
  2. I agree wholeheartedly with you on this. We used to travel more but now it ends up being only a couple of times a year and the $50USD every 5 years for Nexus is worth every penny.
  3. Of our about 120+ days on Regent all but 19 of them have been on Voyager. I agree wth cAPS that if excursions are important you should go for a concierge level suite in order to book your excursions at 360 days rather than having to wait. We have booked concierge level if we are going somewhere we are unfamiliar with and want the piece of mind of the transfers and 1 night hotel stay. The farther the port is from the airport the more economical it is to use Regent transfers. We usually book on the deck 8 if available as I find it is the perfect location for walking up or down, as we almost never take the elevator. Also no public spaces above or below. If we are in concierge we book middle deck 8, if we are not we will usually book forward (though staying as close to the middle as we can) on deck 8. Mind you the last cruise Jan 2024 we booked forward of the back stairs and found it to be a great location. Voyager has 2 entrances to Compass Rose so we could go down the aft stairs and there were fewer people. We always deviate regardless of what level suite we are in because even if we are in concierge with the 1 nght hotel stay we want to control airlines and schedules as much as possible as well as adding extra days before or after the cruise. Have a great cruise.
  4. I suspect that like most surveys they are taking a random block of people and in this case, past passengers. Many surveys do not get sent to everyone but to a statistical cross section of the affected population.
  5. I also received and completed the survey. I agree with Pcardad, they have to cut somewhere to survive and by looking at the responses they will get some ideas. I found the survey pretty typical from a business wanting to know where their customer priorities are.
  6. We were there only 1 day so no further suggestions. It was too long ago to remember what other people enjoyed. Have a wonderful cruise. We loved our time in Africa.
  7. When we were at Richard's Bay a number of years ago we did the St. Lucia Wetlands tour and really enjoyed it. Mind you i am facinated with hippos and there were so many of them.
  8. Just for clarity it is Residence Inn on Hornsby St. Typing slip-ups happen all the time to me.
  9. Thanks Susan. As always, i enjoy your excellent pictures and commentary. Safe trip home.
  10. i toque is a knitted (usually) wool beanie. It lies flat against your head covering your ears and sometimes has a pom pom on top.
  11. I stand corrected. I suspect you won't be impressed by the Rouge portion but i hope that once again i am wrong.
  12. We did this trip last Jan/Feb. It was warm/hot in BA and Uruguay. I got a slight sunburn when we were in the Falklands when we did a walking tour. In Antartica it was around freezing or just below. The weather warmed up as we made our way to Santiago and was warm/hot in Santiago. We took a range of clothing from short sleeved tops and capris to heavy sweaters and a puffer jacket along with mittens and a toque to wear in Antartica. It was a trip of a life time. Have a great trip.
  13. I agree Rouge is not great but i doubt Regent would use them for anythign but the domestic portion of an itinerary as I believe they don't have business class.
  14. We flew with Air Canada to South America and back for our Jan/Feb 2023 cruise. We have flown with them for other Regent cruises as well.
  15. At 210 days before embarkation day you can deviate your flights. As Jim B said do your homework and look for the flights you are interested in but to save time make sure that those flights have the lowest business class fare available. Also as he mentioned there may be an upcharge for some flights, however you don't have to accept these, Regent will always offer flights with no upcharge. You may just not like them. Yes you can go early and stay later. I believe it is up to 30 days before and 30 days after. You can have your TA deal with Regent Air or have your TA release your booking to Regent Air in order to deal with them directly (at least that is how it worked in the past), I have recently seen people write that they have dealt directly with Regent Air without having your TA do anything. There is a $75 non-refundable fee to speak to Regent Air. That amount is deducted from the $175 pp deviation fee if you accept the flights agreed to with Regent. If you don't the fee is forfeited. Once you or your TA have been given your flight options you generally have a couple of days to agree to them or not. Once you agree you are charged the deviation fee. When you call them or have your TA call them, make sure you provide your seat selections and if applicable your frequent flier numbers so they can be added to your booking right from the start. My experience is that most airlines allow Regent to book your seats right from the time of booking. It can be more troublesome to change those seats after. Some airlines give you access to change your seats etc, some don't. Good luck. Hope you get the flights you want. We will be going through the process in January for our flights next summer.
  16. I look forward to reading all about your experiences from a newbie perspective as your time permits. Have a wonderful cruise.
  17. Thanks for taking the time to provide the tip. I am sure it will be helpful to other newbies. I hope you find a cruise line that better suits you. That is the great thing about having so many choices. Every cruise line is not for every person. Happy future cruising.
  18. Thank you for posting. It was very interesting.
  19. What gorgeous pictures. Thank you for posting here and in your photo gallery.
  20. Thanks Susan. I was hoping you would post as your pictures are always beautiful and the commentary informative. Have a wonderful cruise.
  21. I know that you can book in advance but don't have the imformation at my fingertips. You can try googling the Regent board as this has been discussed a few times with people providing contact information. With luck someone may have more concrete info for you. i just wanted to assure that it is possible.
  22. Thank you so much for taking the time to do such a detailed review of your experiences. We were also lucky enough to do the Regent included tour to Angkor Wat and will never forget it.
  23. LovesPurple, Vancouver is also our gateway city and as we almost always travel when the roads or weather can be bad we go to Vancouver and stay overnight before our flight. With Regent we always take their flights using deviation but when we have cruised with other lines and booked our own flights we still went to Vancouver the night before. Consider it just part of the overall cruise price. We use the extra time in Vancouver to visit our favorite foreign exchange place to pick up all the foreign currency we take for tips etc. Flying from the West coast i haven't found that i can get the flights we want for the air credit from Regent so wouldn't consider booking our own flights.
  24. Thank you for all the wonderful pictures and commentary. Have a safe trip home.
  25. I don't believe you can enter anything to get just refundable business class fares in ITAMatrix. However ITAMatrix does give you the business class fare code and so if you know the different classes by letter for any airline you are considering, it gives you what fares ITAMatrix is quoting you. For instance when you look at the details of the option you are interested in, it will say business (p) or business (j) etc. for example. You just have to know what the P or J equate to with the airline you are looking at. You can easily google fare class codes for any airline and get that info. I find that it works for me to just go to the individual airline after using ITAMatrix, search the option i want and then see what fare classes are available. It also gives me the opportunity to look at the seat availability so i am prepared to give the Regent person the seats i prefer and my frequent flier #.
