Damaged luggage during embarkation
Robo1098 replied to YoupDeBoer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Why spend $2,000 on bags that are going to be thrown around and stacked. Haven't you seen how these bags are treated? -

Sorry saw the post and responded before reading the rest. Didn't mean to pile on. LOL -
Suggest ships based on Solariums
Robo1098 replied to Thoenix's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Odyssey has a three tiered pool down the middle and hot tubs off to each side -
Additional advice. You won't have much time to watch TV on that ship. Have a great time!

I really think that they should be happy that she did not have a heart condition. Bronchitis can get serious. Would they have been happier if she had a heart condition but the ship doctor tells her it is just a cough? All these people talking lawsuit are looking for a free ride at someone's expense. Be glad you had insurance, her heart checked out fine and move on with life. You have a good story to tell of the adventure.

Actually the differences were what attracted us. LOL

My wife and I normally cruise on Royal but want to try Princess. We are looking at booking either Sun or Star for late November of 2025. I am wondering what thoughts are about Star being functional with the shows and activities like the ropes course since it is roughly a month and a half after it being introduced? I would like to think that they would learn their lesson after the bad reviews and backlash from Sun not being ready. I have also heard that they may make minor changes to Star from what they have learned on Sun. Thoughts?

On their own they would not get double points.

Icon of the seas Infinity balcony
Robo1098 replied to rccllovergirl's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I don't need to try it to not like it. My wife likes to go on the balcony read and enjoy the breeze sometimes in the afternoon while I may take a nap. I like to go on the balcony and enjoy the breeze while she is getting ready. Neither one of us wants the A/C shut off while the other is out there. To me they built way too many of these infinite balcony rooms on Icon. -
Just milkshakes at Johnny Rockets?
Robo1098 replied to Mama2CruiseBaby's topic in Royal Caribbean International
At Johnny Rockets on Adventure two months ago they scooped real ice cream out. No soft serve. I really can't remember others but they tasted good. -
I could agree with most of those statements except the Infinite balconies being perfect. I think they are far from perfect and much prefer a true balcony that my wife or I can enjoy without shutting off the A/C to the rest of the cabin.

Different Check-In Times?
Robo1098 replied to handbellplayer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It used to be that way. Recently when you try to check in it makes you fill out all the info. You can't skip ahead. -
It is abviously written to get clicks and subscribers. Look at all the attention it is getting here. If he had written an another article exclaiming how great his cruise was and all of the things to do it would be unread amongs all the others. It is just for the clicks and subscribers. Stop giving this site the attention.

I always compare my cruises with others but value are also part of the comparison. Why stay loyal and just pay way more for one cruise than what you previously went on two. Also the decline in the quality of the food. Personally I enjoy Royal and I have stock but I will not stay loyal to a corporation. I have and will continue to look for the best value on Royal and other cruise lines.

I can't offer a lot of help on this but every Royal ship I have been on the relief area has been at the aft usually starboard side.

What is the Best Itinerary on Carnival?
Robo1098 replied to bdeluca03's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Correct. I don't dissagree with you. I will say that I have seen many complaints from cruisers on Quantum class ships that they do not go to many of the areas that other ships go due to their size. -
What is the Best Itinerary on Carnival?
Robo1098 replied to bdeluca03's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
"Welcome to the first -- I think your first call or the first call since you've been covering us. So the new ships get a premium. There is no doubt that the new ships get a premium. The way we manage brand by brand, how much of that premium to get. It also depends on where we're putting that ship because we're not going to necessarily want to put the best ship on the best itinerary because that's not the good thing for the overall brand." I think what he is stating is very obvious. If he didn't come to this conclusion I would question his position in the corporation. It stands to reason that it you put an old ship with a boring itinerary nobody would go. A newer ship can carry a bad itinerary as more people are going for the ship itself. -

I think a lot of what ships go to Alaska have to do with design. Those Quantum class ships are made mor for cold wheather. -
Royal Transatlantic Questions
Robo1098 replied to MtnSeaGirl's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I stand corrected. Did they have new menu items or just a different combination? -
Royal Transatlantic Questions
Robo1098 replied to MtnSeaGirl's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Royal has a seven day menu and it repeats. Whatever is the food choices for those seven days will probably be what is available. Same for the fleet. -
Symphony of the Seas cabin noise on deck below pools
Robo1098 replied to RWMike's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It really varies by location. They clean the decks and move chairs very early in the morning so if you are under the deck chair area it can be noisy. -
You are only allowed if it prepackaged. If you mean "youcan", well it is against regulations but I guess you can.

Please don't post a topic like that when you don't know if there is an issue. Stabilizers can only do so much. You are still on the ocean. Sometimes the seas will be rough at times.
