  1. Now THIS is my kind of excursion! Beautiful. Guarantee you that @RachelG’s husband and I could lose the guide in a matter of minutes to wander on our own. 😁
  2. Yikes! $798 for teppanyaki and drive around the city in a bus? That is so overpriced it isn’t even funny, but most SS excursions are. Mysty, you could easily get a private car with English speaking guide, and the same dinner at a fine restaurant enjoying the intimacy of place and your mate, at half the price you’re willing to pay SS. Promise.
  3. The Muse ran out of Pinot Grigio last week while sailing in Australia and New Zealand.
  4. Do your ski pants protect you when snow skiing on cold days? If not, then no, they will not magically protect you in Antarctica.
  5. Yes, The Restaurant and La Terrazza.
  6. Why not? Plenty of time to plan a rendezvous. Oh wait. I see the problem now. Mooloo isn’t quite as easy to reach for a long weekend like London is from Albany.
  7. Yes, promotions are always ongoing, changing every few months, and almost always with a higher price. A price reduction is more rare because that would expose SS to their Fare Guarantee program for any pre-booked guests who uncovered the price reduction. Hard to say if it’s a good deal. Only you can determine whether it worth risking thousands of dollars in order to save $2,000. To some it is, but to most SS passengers it is not. In the of world SS, 8-months isn’t much time at all. Most likely there will be maybe three promotions and all from a higher price point.
  8. Any differences? Really? That’s your first question here? Look, there are dozens of really good people here in the SS forum who are willing to share a wealth of information, but few have any interest in spoon feeding here. So, to get the greatest amount of your questions answered, I’d encourage you to spend some of your own time familiarizing yourself about SS and the three ships you note. The SS website will show you all the detailed differences. Then return here with specific questions and you’ll get a plethora of advice, because the ships are quite different. Yes. If space is available upon embarkation, you can pay the fare difference. I saw it happen onboard before, but it cost the upgrading couple more money than what they spent on a Vista booking. Also, others have had luck making a “guaranty” reservation and getting upgraded to a balcony. This method is rare relative to the thousands of passengers who sail.
  9. Don’t try and beat JP. You can’t. Just pack like a Stumble going on a beach vacation does and you’ll have loads of room for your WC wardrobe.
  10. No. Lots of other nuisances on board the Muse since before Christmas, but nothing related to Biofoul.
  11. Fun, fun, city (Warnemünde) to just walk all around in.
  12. Nah, just a mad man, says my buddy who did it for 22-years.
  13. Especially on polar Expeditions when so much energy is exhausted. And yes, Scotch can be its own food group in Antarctica.
  14. I’ll be damned! 😆😆😆 Next thing you know they’ll be accepting reservations from Marylanders.
  15. Schedule spa for noon to 2:00p on excursion days. Eat dinner whenever you’re hungry. Follow your body clock as normal.
  16. Thank you for taking time to share your experience about the new ship and different type of itinerary that eliminates sailing to/from the continent.
  17. SS got the drone up in the air in Antarctica’s Gerlache Strait.
  18. Will you be able to bring along your cute Canadian Christmas tree and ornaments with you?
