  1. You’d be surprised how many actually are, me included most likely. Totally understand. To each eye his own, beholden to none other. It’s what makes a market.
  2. Not sure how long you’ve been following SS’s pricing practices, and not about to argue whether or not they are good as you note, but what you wrote is the way it’s been for over a decade that I’ve been following SS. Sure, the promotion name changes (P2P is the most recent favored style) from time-to-time, but the jest is the same; don’t refund any cash due to a lower price. See, the silver privilege fare guarantee program is nothing more than marketing gobbledygook. Plus, the onus is on the customer to request a refund, should they ever find an actual lower price. It’s a rare bird indeed. And heck, just a couple of year’s ago, pre-Covid, thousands of passengers were pre-paying 100% of their cruise fare years in advance for a 10% discount. Now, mind you, the cancellation terms weren’t as onerous as P2P is tidy, but you get my point nonetheless. Oh, and one final comment… I realize you are price sensitive. And, while you may think the SS market is moving target, it’s not. They have, and always will, continue to seek the inelastic price consumer.
  3. Don’t kid yourself, unlike what Wes notes above, every single OBC is ultimately sourced via the cruise company. If the cruise company didn’t pay such large commissions to travel consortiums, credit card companies, or travel agents, none of them would offer you an OBC. All 3rd party sources are just giving you a portion of their commission.
  4. Pasca, it’s clear you’re quite worried as I believe this is your third post on the subject in a matter of hours. So, I’d recommend you perform a search of the forum. Somebody posted a recent update (within the past 3-months) of when Whisper is scheduled for the Shadow update. If you can’t find it, then you can probably determine when it’s scheduled by looking at the Whisper’s sailing schedule. I’ve read other posts from those who have sailed Whisper and they don’t indicate what you’re implying. And, Ol’ ZQT is on the Whisper currently sailing across the South Pacific for several more weeks.
  5. I wouldn’t ever bet against you. My sentiments exactly.
  6. Good. That’s the way it should be. Especially since 5-nights in Lima with meals is in no way comparable to the tour you paid for.
  7. Love that show! Have eaten in at least a dozen of the restaurants over the years and none have ever disappointed. After watching late last night, made one of the dishes featured on the program for breakfast this morning to rave reviews.
  8. Yup. Lots of folks here have received it based on all of the commentary I’ve read.
  9. In the future, just say Voldemort and we’ll all know the social media forum that shall not be named you are referring to. 😁
  10. Word from those on board the Moon late tonight is SS still plans to disembark and embark in Lima. The next voyage is sold out, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn if some cancellations have come in since the declaration of a nationwide state of emergency.
  11. I know. I was just teasing. Sorry, but I haven't even read the email message yet, let alone review the survey. I just saw it in my inbox and the subject line. I think I remember somebody here whose pseudonym was along the lines of Happy Camper, or something like that, who used to post survey details when SS released them. Maybe they'll show up again and post their findings.
  12. Brilliant advice from JP! This is just another example of why you are the forum’s master packer.
  13. I’d encourage you to perform a perfunctory search of this forum as your question has been discussed ad nauseam. You’ll find everything from suites to service, food to clothing, and everything in between including excursions.
  14. Chrism23, Knowing your need for all manner of gear and now heavy books, along with a healthy disdain for the weight of formal clothes, sportcoats, or blazers, this is how I imagine you’ll show up on embarkation day. 😁 Or, maybe the style of Tribbiani.
  15. Been gorgeous here too. Beaver Creek went over 100” of snow yesterday. Early season ski conditions are very good this year and dramatically better than last year at this time.
  16. No, the survey is not only for those who stay in suites more expensive than Veranda class. I received the survey and as you know, I only slum it in V-class; Vistas and Verandas. p.s. People who sail in suites larger than Verandas are regular people too. 😉
  17. I think the infamous Captain Stubby from Maryland was over 2,750 days when we met him on the new Muse in ‘17. Then in ‘20, pre-Covid, he was over 3,500 when we saw him again on the Cloud in South Georgia. I’ll be floored if we ever hit 250.
  18. That is beyond brutal! AA is getting ready to change equipment on the SCL-DFW routing, so that is why J doesn't show available. Clearly, SS has taken the MIA routing, which is beyond horrible for DEN flyers as the overnight from Chile doesn't arrive early enough in the morning to catch the 7:35a flight back to DEN. Personally, I wouldn't put up with sitting in Miami for over 12-hours until the night flight @ 8:13p departs for DEN. I know you say there are no other options, but why not push your travel agent to get you on the UA flight via Houston. J is wide open after your Antarctica voyage and total travel time is just over 14-hours. Even Delta is a viable alternative via ATL with a 14-1/2 hour travel time.
  19. What a pain in the a**. Although, JAL in F to Narita is bliss. Vintage Salon on my last trip, pre-Covid.
  20. Simple; economics. People who are not price sensitive will book those higher end suites. SS knows this and as such, does not need to sell them at a greatly reduced P2P price at this time.
