  1. Interesting. To be sure I understand, you’re saying you’ve always been able to do what you describe in foreign currency on SS?
  2. Thanks for sharing your perspective. As anyone in the beef industry will tell you, the hamburger on SS is really, really, bad. Like legendary bad. I know a gentleman rancher who orders it on each and every cruise, just to see if it has improved. Never does. Right @RachelG? I’m sorry, but what a joke. I understand running out of an ingredient or some esoteric libation, but what you described are the basics. There just is no excuse for that, especially when in Boston for three days. If this were my first time on SS, I guarantee you it be would have been my last, because it has absolutely nothing to do with the hurricane and everything to do with a failure to deliver a luxury experience for which SS promised.
  3. From my perspective, you paid for a cruise that included tours. Shouldn’t matter when you booked. Therefore, I’d explore a small refund or OBC of $75 to $100 per passenger since SS was unable to deliver what they promised. I think that’s always the case, regardless of where one is in the world.
  4. I wonder how it go goes on frozen waffles? Sorry @etual324, I just couldn’t resist. 😉
  5. If you believe the brand promise, and what others have posted here over the years, no, it is not a must. Oh, and get your eyes checked. You are not going on anything remotely like a yacht.
  6. Nah, not because it’s unbelievable, but rather, because their schedule is already full filming an 8-season series of American politics and its implausibility.
  7. The Museum of Memory and Human Rights is fascinating if you’d like to understand the human rights violations committed during the military dictatorship led by Augusto Pinochet aided by America’s involvement.
  8. Wow! Who does that on their included tours; Regent? I’ve never heard of such a thing. Before tours were included on SS, if we missed a port and a paid tour we had reserved, of course SS never charged us. But, we never received whatever port fee there was buried in our fare. Never even thought to ask about it either. So, how much do you normally get back for missed included tours and port fees on these other 6* lines and who are they?
  9. O… M… G… does that name ever bring back memories. 😁
  10. Hopefully other folks will respond, but as I remember, they liked it for the reason you listed as a concern (super quiet), size, midship location, guests on only one side and in a oft unoccupied suite (Owner’s 2-bedroom), as well as convenience to stairs, elevators, and mere steps to La Terrazza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  11. For many people here, it’s their favorite suite on the whole ship.
  12. This was just one of my concerns when they launched D2D fares in the Classic fleet. I just didn't believe the tours would be commensurate with the fare increase. Your report, along with many others, continue to reinforce my belief.
  13. Only the best ones. Have to believe this is only the beginning. Fernando knows exactly who he wants to help him deliver on Manfredi's new dream.
  14. I did that once to a incompetent band teacher, albeit it was a baton instead of a ruler. The results were the same though. Might have been the best decision of my high school years. 😁
  15. You’ll be in International Waters that evening according to Silversea’s website. The Portuguese VAT would be on the third night of your voyage.
  16. Again, sorry about the crummy end to your voyage and that SS put you up in a lousy hotel. It just plain sucks.
  17. You missed my point completely. I neither said anything about how the post was written, nor about the OP’s disappointment. IMHO, more than six hours in any dumpy hotel is not cool, whether at the airport, in town, in the country, or on a beach. 😉
