  1. Are you starting the WC in Miami, making San Diego the beginning of your second segment? We are starting in San Diego and have been able to book only San Diego to Papeete. If this is your second segment, then I think Crystal should allow you to book your specialty restaurants.
  2. You are correct, Bayonejoe, it appears that the specialty restaurants can be booked only 90 days prior to each segment.
  3. I just thought I’d note that reservations for excursions and dining can now be made up to 90 days before departure. We were able to make reservations for the entire 2024 WC, and our bookings for later in 2024 are indicating 90 days. So definitely some improvement in that area.
  4. I’m happy to report that Georgiana is now back on board the Splendor, and I believe she said until February.

    Covid Policy

I’m currently on a cruise (not Crystal) where hand sanitizer has always been visible everywhere, plus hand washing stations. Yesterday we were all asked to frequently wash our hands and report any gastrointestinal illness. Of course, the hand sanitizer is useless against norovirus, but too many people will think using hand sanitizer is enough.
  6. Found it! Thank you, Julia, for pointing that out to me.
  7. Can anyone who was on the Serenity, or who is now currently sailing, comment on the included wines? Winos need to know😅. Thanks.
  8. I’m guessing it’s because Air Tags use batteries, and batteries are not allowed with Luggage Forward.
  9. That’s what I was assuming. I remember in the weeks after 9/11 we weren’t allowed to lock our luggage regardless of where we were going to or coming from. We all just took our chances. That’s what I’ll be doing now; and, hopefully, I’ll have a glowing report on Luggage Forward. Thanks for your replies.
  10. I’m not too concerned about the cost of loss or delay of the bags, but I am concerned about someone being tempted to riffle through the contents during the shipping process. An unlocked bag might be hard to ignore, so I’m wondering if any of you have run into this problem. I realize if I’m so concerned I shouldn’t ship the luggage, but I do want to try it out.
  11. We will be using Luggage Forward for the first time to ship two bags to another country for an upcoming cruise. The luggage tags have just arrived and the instructions say to leave the luggage unlocked for customs inspection. For those of you who have used this service, what was your experience regarding having unlocked bags? Any problems with missing items? Of course, there will be no medication or valuables in the bags, but it still makes me nervous. I’m hoping some of you can ease my concerns. Thank you.

    Covid Policy

Sadly, Covid is still around. Does anyone know what Crystal’s policy is in regard to Covid? I couldn’t find any reference to it on their website. Will they treat passengers who test positive and allow them to remain in their staterooms? Or will positive passengers be forced off at the next port, as they were in 2021? I was recently on a cruise on Regent when both my husband and myself tested positive. We were allowed to stay in our stateroom, were prescribed Paxlovid, had daily visits from the nurse, and, in general, were treated very well. It would be good to know how Crystal plans on handling such cases.
  13. I agree. All you had to do was shake your head or say”no thank you” to them. They were very courteous and didn’t invade my space. And wasn’t it usually only on formal nights that they would ask if you wanted your photo taken? I know they did go out for some of the shore excursions.
  14. From the pictures sent to me, there are some small drawers on the glass-door side of the vanity. All the drawers and shelving on the other side are gone. And I think there is reduced closet space because a small bar and refrigerator were installed at the hallway end of the closet. Also, the sliding closet doors now appear to be pull-open doors. Looks to me like the room was designed by someone who has never cruised. Unfortunately, I don’t have permission to post the pictures.
  15. I don’t wear gowns or any kind of glitz anymore. I wear nice black pants with various dressy tops. That’s not going to change. And I don’t wear heels anymore, just dressy, comfy black flats. I hope I won’t be banned because I don’t dress to the nines.
  16. I wish they had done that when we were on several years ago having a drink in the Cove after 6PM when a group of people were dressed up in their “finest” outback wear.
  17. Not only will they not be allowed in the dining room, they will be banned from all public spaces. My husband had a custom made navy blazer made for the 2022 WC, which, of course, we didn’t get to go on, so he thought what if he wore his blazer with navy dress pants. Not a look he would normally go for, but would they be so picky as to distinguish between a “suit” and matching pants and jacket color?
  18. For 2024, we’re booked for the full WC and then later in the year on the Symphony for five B2B cruises in a row, London to London. At our age, we have to make hay while the sun shines.
  19. I hear you. We love cinnamon rolls and sticky buns. We were on the Mariner in October; and to our surprise, the breakfast buffet had sticky buns. Not every morning, but we did check every morning. We have also often lamented as to why we can’t get a simple BLT for lunch. How hard can that be? Maybe I can remember to mention that on the survey for my upcoming Splendor cruise.
  20. Z, please tell me what drink that is. We will be on the Splendor starting in late August, and it looks like one I will have to try. DH and I are very much enjoying your posts and your great sense of humor🙏.
  21. Alas, our cruise begins in Iceland, so no hope of getting Euros there.
  22. Thank you. We’ll make sure we have a good idea of what we’ll need in smaller bills and take care of it early in the cruise.
  23. Thanks, RachelG and wishiweretravelling.
