  1. We really enjoyed it. It wasn’t near as crowded as other viewing areas and the 🍾 was a nice touch.
  2. Good to know we can change all those out. I would prefer red wine, cheese and fruit as well.
  3. Thanks for your responses. We ended up going with Celebrity but will certainly keep NCL in mind for the next one. I do have two cruise next certificates I need to use or lose.
  4. We stayed until it was over. Had a blast!
  5. Thank you! I’m aware of what their website says. We just got more for it last time. However, we paid more for the “upgrade” as well. I quite enjoyed the embarkation lunch and sometimes the canapés. We will try to get an early birding time. How late does the Concierge lunch go? Surely they will make sure we get on in time for it. I hadn’t really thought about there not being as many opportunities for it. However, last time was a Bermuda cruise so even less opportunities. This is only our second time with Celebrity and both happens to be Concierge Class. We had a special waiting area last time and could board after suites. It’s all good though. I really enjoyed the helipad. I hope we get that again!
  6. We booked a 5 day cruise on the Reflection. Just a little girls trip. We opted for a Concierge class cabins since it was only a few dollars more than a veranda. Last time I was CC, we had a special area to wait for boarding and were invited to the helipad for sail away. I don’t see that listed as a perk anymore. Did they do away with those perks for Concierge class? I’ll be disappointed if they have but it’s not a big deal because the extra cost was minimal. Do they have the silent disco, white party or evening chic on 5 day cruises? I haven’t been on a cruise this short since our first cruise.
  7. We are planning on booking this excursion with Celebrity. Has anyone done this? Was it worth the long drive? How far is it to get to the ruins? I’ve heard 2 hours each way.
  8. Thank you! I don't think it's worth that much per day to upgrade. I will just carry my yeti around.
  9. I have only sailed with NCL once and it was pre-covid. My TA says they have went way down hill, canceling rooms for no reason and poor customer service. Is this something you have experienced? We're planning on booking a short girls cruise with either them or Celebrity this December. I love Celebrity, but to get their beverage package it would be quite a bit more. How do they compare currently? How much does it cost to upgrade the included beverage package to premium? I'm interested in water bottles and specialty coffee. What red wines are available in each package? I have two cruise next certificates, but I believe I can only use one of them. The other is about to expire if I don't book something over the next couple of months. Is selling them still a thing?
  10. When will Celebrity release cruises for summer 2024? We’re think Greece and Italy.
  11. I could take off work to go but it’s frowned upon, especially by my colleagues. If I did take time off work to avoid the hot summer months I could only go for a week and we want to spend some time on land at least before, if not after as well. We typically don’t get out of school till the second week of June, so early June is out. Our anniversary is in September so I was thinking August would be ideal. Even if I could get off in September, one of our friends can’t. The other friend hates the heat. Thanks for your input.
  12. When is the best time to cruise the Mediterranean? I’m a teacher so late June-early August is best for me, but is that an ideal time? If not, when is best? Are any cruise lines considered better for this area or is it just personal preference? I favor Celebrity and NCL, but am open. What ports are a must? My friends are focused on Greece, which I’m sure I would love. I’m also interested in Italy, but have never been anywhere in the area so I’m clueless as for must do ports and the best itineraries. Any help would be appreciated. When should we plan to book for summer-ish 2024?
  13. We’re considering booking more excursions, even though we normally book private. It seems silly to book specialty dining when so many are saying Luminae will give us about anything we want. I guess we’ll see if that’s the case for us. We have booked the steakhouse and Le Petit Chef looks interesting, so possibly that as well. I’m sure my husband will want to do the sushi place. 🤢 Is there an Italian restaurant on the Apex? I can see me using some in the spa or shopping. It’s a shame we can’t use it to book a future cruise!
  14. I will be checking the app ahead of time to see what’s on the menu for the next day. It’s good know know I can order special requests. Since I’m paying for the retreat, I will want to spend time on that deck. I don’t mind the sun or getting there early. We have used some onboard credit for an excursion and a specialty restaurant as well. Not sure what we will do with all the rest. I really don’t see us utilizing our butler much. Maybe for breakfast and specialty coffee and clearing out our mini fridge and filling it with water bottles. We don’t drink soda. I am very excited to experience the retreat. Hopefully it’s worth the crazy spring break prices!
  15. Sounds like you had a wonderful waiter! I’d be thrilled with a spicy pasta or steak! I eat seafood, it’s just not my favorite, and we eat chicken several nights a week at home.
  16. Our 30th anniversary will be on September 3, 2024. When will we be able to start looking at either Alaskan or Mediterranean cruises for August/September 2024? Any other lines we should consider besides Celebrity, NCL and RC? We weren’t a fan of Princess and are a little young for Holland. Well, at least I think we are.
  17. We loved the martini bar on the Summit and went several times. We’ve stayed in everything from an inside cabin (only once and never again!) to a junior suite. I’ve always been very happy as long as I had a balcony. We love so many of the activities on a ship, especially the evening shows and live music, working on our tan by the pool, relaxing on my balcony or sun deck with a good book, comedians, cocktails, the silent disco, good food, and great service! I hope I don’t feel I could never go back to a standard balcony cabin, but am looking forward to an upgraded experience.
  18. I didn’t realize I could order anything off the Timeless menu in Luminae. That would cover me any nights I don’t care for something on their menu. Besides, my biggest worry was their side dishes didn’t sound appealing and without them I wouldn’t get full. I like sauces on food, just many include mushrooms which I won’t eat. A filet, Caesar salad and potatoes is something I enjoy. Someone else said they pulled the 4 ounce filet from the children’s menu.
