  1. CC needs to answer one question that will then lead to many others. Are they satisfied with the numbers of people still using it? If the answer is yes then they don't need to do anything different than to sit back and continue to watch the spiral down. If the answer is no (which it should be) then they then need to ask themselves what changes do they need to make in order to generate more interest in having a thriving and growing online community. They can get all the information they need from those that are left here currently. Things such as the ability to message other members is just one small example of something people have wanted and complained about for years. There are many many more in terms of forum functionality, policies, etc. that can make a huge difference. They need to start listening to their users. They currently don't.
  2. In! Absolutely agree that CC has done it to themselves. I still enjoy and try and keep active on roll calls...but for CC to not allow mention of all the other social media platforms out there who have taken a good chunk of their participants away...simply makes it worse.
  3. Sounds like you had a really pleasurable cruise cruise @graphicguy Happy for you! We haven't done the Getawy yet but will be in January out of NYC. I very much appreciate you taking us along for your adventure. Getting mad at Corporate can be very easy at times. Missing the vibe of an NCL cruise is very hard! 😉
  4. Seeing as you are such a Royal "Fan Boy" thanks for proving my point...your attitude fits them perfectly! AMF!
  5. Same type of demographics but with totally different attitudes. (including crew) Apparently you just didn't notice IMO
  6. The individual people may change from cruise to cruise but the attitude of those on specific cruise lines can be very consistent which can either be good or bad. If you haven't witnessed that then good for you!
  7. Oh that is very cool!...I'm always down for a Fleetwood Mac or Beatles Tribute. Although the second picture looks a little more like it could be Jethro Tull...Add them and Led Zeppelin and Wavy Gravy would be right:
  8. This is the post you responded to: "I once heard someone put it very succinctly (which I happen to agree with) saying Royal Ships are better during the day while NCL ships are better at night. Longer version being that during the day on Royal Ships places like the solarium, or diving shows, flowriders, etc might be better than what is offered by NCL. And at night the specialty restaurants, broadway quality shows, various bars, etc. were better on NCL ships. YMMV" Nowhere does it say there is "more" to do at night on NCL than Royal. I still stand by that as it encompasses many things besides shows...all of which are of a higher quality than what Royal offers at night. People cruising NCL just make for a better vibe than Royal IMHO. They know how to have fun in many dfferent ways. Nightlife on NCL is much more geared at adults than families with children and that too makes it preferable to me.
  9. You do not need to compare ships in order to do an overall comparison of Cruise Lines...but if you do which NCL ships are you comparing to all of the features you have listed about Oasis Class ships? What apples to apples? Again all you did was praise all of the amenities on (Oasis Class Ships) that you said couldn't be compared with anything else. I actually agree with that but at the same time the two times I sailed on Oasis Class Ships (Oasis and Allure) that was enough to convince me that Royal would never be my favored cruise line and found NCL to be much better for my needs/wants.
  10. I once heard someone put it very succinctly (which I happen to agree with) saying Royal Ships are better during the day while NCL ships are better at night. Longer version being that during the day on Royal Ships places like the solarium, or diving shows, flowriders, etc might be better than what is offered by NCL. And at night the specialty restaurants, broadway quality shows, various bars, etc. were better on NCL ships. YMMV
  11. So happy to hear someone else experience this. Our only two cruises with Royal were on the Oasis and Allure back when they were new. (Well before covid) While we thought the ships themselves were spectacular all of the people and crew on them seemed to be very aloof and not at all friendly. After experiencing it twice we felt that it wasn't coincidence and decided to not go back and just keep on enjoying the much better vibe on NCL ships.
  12. I Agree! Escape is my favorite ship....adding go karts would be a shame. (Noisy or Not) they take up way too much real estate on the ships (including eliminating some of the best spaces such as Spice H2O) While we don't get a vote my guess is far more people would not want them added than do!
  13. This probably isn't much help for making your decision...but the Breakaway is a better ship....but the Itinerary for Epic is far better.
  14. Very Happy to hear this. The Supper Club on our Escape sailing was one of our favorite venues. At the time the dinners were probably "OK" at best...so maybe not serving them now is potentially a good thing.😉 It is a perfect venue to add some different forms of entertainment however. Here's an idea for NCL to consider...maybe change the name of the venue to the "After Supper" club and maybe instead of dinners they could simply walk around and serve complimentary coffee to go along with bar service...and leave it at that.
  15. Something else to think about/consider... wasn't there a Baltic cuise (or maybe more than 1) that was cancelled on the Getaway? If so could this possibly be a result of rescheduling?
  16. We find Yankee Trails to be very convenient. Once your luggage is loaded onto the bus in Rensselaer you won't see it or handle it again until it is delivered to your cabin. (other than keeping your carryons with you) You are dropped off right at the Cruise Terminal. If you should happen to call or look through their site the name of it is "Cruise Express"
  17. You are in for a treat visiting Bermuda...It's wonderful! I see you are in the Albany area are you aware of taking Yankee Trails Bus to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal? We are in Rochester and Drive to Albany area to catch it. I just looked at the Yankee Trails site and they don't have any planned busses going to NYC for this cruise. I am assuming that they might be in the dark a little themselves regarding this and will add some once they become aware
  18. Thank You! After way too long of a time period trying to avoid Covid we are really itching to get started cruising again. The 10 day timeframe and price of the cruise is very attractive.....and after all we have been through all I can say is "We Ain't Scared of No Hurricanes" 🤣
  19. Thanks! Yes today playing with different browsers clearing cahes etc. I do see a reference to it. We have done Breakaway to Bermuda several times in September and each time the weather was perfect. Don't know how long our luck can hold but we might chance it.
  20. So as I was perusing several sites looking at cruises I noticed that there was a cruise listed on *some* of them but not all. It is on the Getaway for a 10 day cruise on Sept. 12th out of NYC.One of the sites it isn't on is NCL...but knowing many of the problems they have with IT especially on weekends I chalked it up that it might be a problem from that. Another site I saw it on lists the itinerary but it reads in the opposite direction than it shows on the map (Image attached) Anyways was wondering if any of you Dick Tracy types out there can help verify if this is a legitimate cruise or not. 😉
  21. I so agree with this! I believe that the first time I left the gangway and entered the ship the look on my face was mouth wide open and my chin was probably an inch or two from the floor. When I enter now I do more people watching for the first time cruisers and the expressions on their faces. The experience is priceless!
