  1. You got me checking now with my finger oxymeter Jane 🙂 58/96 at the moment . The other year they juggled my meds around bisoprolol now 1.2 and the ramiipril 5mg. Best I have felt for ages with that dosage. We sound like the walking wounded out of the Monty Python sketch .. "It's just a flesh wound " Onwards and upwards 🙃
  2. Sorry to hear about your mum Michelle but have others have said she is in the right place to get sorted ,still a concern for you and the family though. Hopefully as you have said your mums being on heart meds for years and possibly need tweaking one way or other. Sure they will get to the problem and your mum back to her normal self. You take as well .🙂
  3. Yes last week they had a telescopic crane in slinging up short scaffold and other crates as the captain Neil Turnbull in formed the ship that they would be moving things about for one of the pools that needed some work. So it could be ongoing work that you have seen .
  4. Check the expiry date Graham I had to hand mine in a few months ago . I'm now good to go until March 2025 🙂
  5. With HF I have one of these but the good news is never had to use it from leaving the hozzie . I'm sure the doc will sort out what she needs after her tests ..One step at a time 🙂
  6. That's what my specialist said but unfortunately that's what it is ,part of your heart has ceased to work. As you rightly say it can be managed in most cases with diet, medication and fluid intake . It cannot be cured so we have to take good care of what still works . Would be better if they stuck the word "partial" in the name . @lincslady cross your bridges as you come to them , you may not have H F 🙂
  7. Most likely due to last Friday they were jet washing windows and thought this week we will do other side of ship .
  8. If you know what cabin area of the ship you want ,then check whats available. The Azura one we did was totally sold out a few weeks before final payment day . Best thing would be take a screen shot of your TA quote what you intend to book and see whats on offer when onboard . If it's not a good seller cruise ,you run the risk of losing out to further reductions at a later date . Good luck with your choice .
  9. I once thought I saw a cruise ship full of dentists ,,, turns out it was a tooth ferry 😉 Morning on this icy misty 4.c morning that the rain is melting the snow away . @lincslady hope you get sorted and whatever they diagnose ,your treatment they give you puts you on the right track again -take care . Oat cakes ,welsh cakes are all very nice but this Tuesday will be pancake day ! Question is will you give a toss or stick to your cakes 😉 My fave was "Guns and Oatcakes" a great Stoke rock band that played wonderful tunes such as Oh Baby Baby (Britney ) whilst I got slowly drunk after a hard days work 🙃 but that's another story . Have a good day everyone 🙂
  10. How anyone could think of skimping on insurance is beyond me ? The wife felt unwell and the ships nurse thought the doctor should take a look at her. All onboard treatment is at eyewatering prices for her to lay on the medical centre bed we were billed £100 per hour . To have an oxymeter put on your finger cost £60 per go The bill exceeded 2k for the ships treatment alone . I agree with the posts advising "get yourself insured" ,crazy not to.
  11. The snow is having a go this morning now dipped to 1.c. Our lad is in his artic wagon heading for Glasgow today and sods law..he's got a puncture 😟 Good news is the tyre fitters now fixing it. Time for a cuppa me thinks 😊
  12. Glad to read your mums settled in and likes shaking her maracas about ,sounds like fun 😉 Morning everyone , my phone has given a snow alert for today but as yet it's overcast 2'c with a feel of -2.c. Hope you all have a good day ,take care .🙂
  13. You got paid for eating Black jacks ,nice work if you can get it 😉 We were down St Ives and with the pin episode you had I had the same happen eating a bag of chips. Cant remember how much they cost but turned out to be an expensive bag of chips with the dental bill that followed 😬
  14. Morning only 4.c here this morning . I think that British Gas are doing the right thing with the pet awareness reminders as some pets are happy to see visitors and others are not . As a school kid we had a woman who had a very big white rabbit that she used to let run free in her back yard . My school mate said "go to open the gate " Quick as a flash it was at the gate making a racket . The woman who owned it said " He would have you ,if you open the gate " as it had bit people in the past . Have heard of people who have cats that do not like visitors to their homes as well. Have a nice day and take care everyone .
  15. Morning it's 11.c and blustery here . I would like to say quiet but when we opened a window all we could hear is a panel of a neighbours fence panel "clunk, clunk" in the wind 😒 @grapau27 you Missed the lovely Ian Lavender who I am sure will be having fun at the pearly gates 😉
  16. Last two weeks the house keeping manager kept asking folk not to put anything down the loo other than the supplied paper via the PA system and posted same in the Horizon mag as it was causing lots of grief for adjoining cabins . Luckily we had no problems .
  17. I thought the same ,on select fare, P&O let you cancel and move to another cruise F O C but only once . Maybe it could be due to a change of cabin ? Maybe Lindy could enlighten us on what changes has caused this charge ? 🤔
  18. Thanks Gill ,those iffy days were more early morning wake up calls . As our flight was 6am and in the depths of winter we decided to stay at the pinewood hotel. For about £30 more than parking in the new multi at the airport at 3am and trekking over Woodhead moors at silly o'clock. We thought it better to park our car in their grounds, in a place of our choice and keep our keys and the next morning jump in a taxi that's part of the package(there and back) . I did the maths and yes we could have used other car parks for £90 and hump the cases around to a shuttle bus That's after driving over the moors in the early hours .. Nah ! We were happy with our arrangements . Looking at the weather there was a real chance of snow over the moors and looking at the same hotel even a day earlier we had the chance to book a room for £68 and this came with free breakfast and parking and WI-FI. Burning their leccy and heating ,what was not to like ? Also on our return the Jet2 flight was not due to land until 4.30pm ,so we booked to stay on our return rather than trek over those hills ,when we can settle down in a nice warm room with a take away . Going out our taxi was waiting at 3am and whisked us to the terminal 2 doors, much better than lugging our cases onto a shuttle bus on what was a sub zero morning and hoping a a car park shuttle bus would rescue us from hypothermia . It was a good flight and transfer and we were soon onboard our lovely ship the Azura . We had a couple on our second week who were not young who we dubbed the "Malbec heroes" . They were very loud ,we thought maybe a bit deaf being the reason, when they had a conversation it was like two sergeant's barking orders to their ranks . We didn't mind and just got on with it . Now what we did not like ,was when they were coming in at 2am and having blazing arguments ,attacking each other fighting and throwing things and turning the air blue with their language . The first episode ,we thought was possibly a one off ,thinking that would be the end of it but that was not to be ! Going on for 3am she was screaming ,"get off me ,put that down ,your hurting me .." Enough was enough we rang reception ,who said they could hear it through our phone and sent for security . We could hear security banging on their door which they themselves eventually broke off their argument and the woman shouted .." Oh security's here !! please do come in and share a glass of Malbec with us ,why don't you ?" After that the rest of the week they toned it down a little . Apart from that we had two great weeks on the Azura chilled out and relaxed. On the cruise I have been a good lad and happy to see my weight is where it should be. We found some nice balcony treats in the ports shops that were low sugar and salt . I did frequent a few McDonalds but only for a cool drink and their free Wi-Fi, so I could read what you lot were getting up to as I do not post when away . Some of the good stuff .. And some of the nice stuff.... Nice view and free Wi FI .... Nice Sun and moon from our balcony ...
  19. Morning 9.c and overcast here this morning . Hope you all have a good day !
  20. Thought for the day .... If your sparkling water loses it's bubbles, that's ok... It's still water.🙃😉 Be happy 🙂
  21. We have always done things together (hence the kids ) and we shared a paper round 🤣
  22. Thanks Eddie yep two superb weeks very relaxing apart from 2 nights of mayhem . will explain another day. It was my two year delayed retirement cruise and our combined birthday cruise and Mrs K's retirement ,, My perfect pensioner as I now call her 🤣
