  1. Just did it and absolutely loved it. Got to call the three ports twice so did everything we wanted. Highly recommend 🥰
  2. Gratuities – Onboard Service For our Australian passengers, when sailing on cruises departing from Australia, a daily gratuity amount will no longer be added to your on board account. You are welcome to reward our on board crew for exceptional service, however, tipping is not required.
  3. Prob best port to to this. Vancouver can take four ships docked at once. Everything is signposted very well and plenty of info people around.
  4. That’s great to hear then. I had read the opposite in researching prior to our trip as far as I’m aware. we definitely had plenty of time to hike to the falls then come back to the visitor centre with a good look around plus watch the short very interesting movie. we had two hours there.
  5. We booked through the ship and had a fantastic driver who was both knowledgeable and very funny! We were dropped right at the visitor centre whereas I believe the blue and white regular transport drop you quite a way from the centre. the walk to nugget falls is about 1.5km each way from the centre. It’s an absolute must do. the visitor centre is also a must. so allowing as much time as possible for those boys the glacier we felt it best to go right there. absolutely loved our time there.
  6. We’re just back from Alaska. Whale watching & wildlife quest with the Allen family. Highly recommend. We booked it through Princess but I’m sure they do private. They guarantee you will see whales or they give you $100 back (and they love never given a refund in 15 years). Saw lots of whales and at least three gave big waves of their tails 🥰 plus sea lions, bald eagles and otters. it was a highlight of our trip
  7. Mornington Peninsula is beautiful. So are the Dandenong ranges. Fortunately, there are plenty of lovely places surrounding Melbourne CBD that you can do a few of them. Otherwise, if you prefer to stay in one spot then the Mornington peninsula will definitely fill your week.
  8. We’re just back from Alaska, indescribably beautiful. We did the white pass return trip from the ship. We were on grand princess and just walked along from our ship to board train. I’m not sure if it was mixed cruise passengers and private bookings. However they boarded people by having steps up to carriage lowered and we could board any carriage we liked with the steps down. They checked every carriage was full, two to a seat, before they “opened” up another carriage. it doesn’t matter where you sit, especially on the return journey, as you then see both sides equally. commentary was broadcast in English so no headphones needed, so guess those would only be issued on bilingual journey. Mathis is our train. We were about half way along.
  9. It’s one of our favourite cruises, once we leave Melbourne we have 3 cruise days which we love, then 6 days exploring NZ including enjoying Fiordland, then 3 sea days home. It’s a perfect combination for us. And so many things to choose to do in NZ
  10. If our cruise (Alaska) is anything to go by then definitely. Even on other cruises not everyone dressed formal so I would think it would be fine. Enjoy 🥰
  11. It was a very speedy process when we just disembarked Grand Princess in Vancouver 20 May. If you register for self disembarkation you keep your luggage with you and they were very early walk off times.
  12. They definitely had them in Ketchikan but no idea where they were made but they looked very nice. We are just off the Grand Princess and they were in at least one of the shops just over from the ship on the same street. I honestly didn’t notice them elsewhere but then I wasn’t looking for them. The display caught my eye because it was at eye level and each of the “family” were laid out individually in little rows. I think that’s a lovely idea you have as a souvenir 🥰
  13. Loved circumnavigation of Sus on princess October 2022 on Princess. Something special about going right round the country 🥰
  14. We are absolutely loving our pre-cruise stay at the Pan Pacific. We are here for 5 nights prior to sailing tomorrow (6th). Sumptuous buffet breakfast included. Huge room though just their standard room. It’s absolutely the perfect location to get to anything and everything.
  15. And where do the “different story” flies frequent and when????
  16. We’re thinking taxi which says is specific set price for zones ($38 to port?) after long flight from Australia. Return journey we will plan on the skytrain.
  17. Definitely. We are believing for the best.🙏🏻🙏🏻
  18. Was that Vancouver return voyage of the glaciers? If so what did you do in the changeover day (Whittier? Anchorage? I did look at the 26 glaciers tour and even booked it but then thought we might be glaciered out so cancelled it (unfortunately as I lost money in the exchange etc).
  19. I agree, it can happen to any ship. The fact that some older princess ships have gone to P & O which are still happily sailing proves older still have some life left (like all us oldies 🥰)
  20. wow definitely. We are on the Grand May 6-20 Alaska!
  21. It comes up as first option once you go into payments from memory but guess it’s making sure payment option is covered gir those who don’t have OBC or enough OBC
  22. Thanks for the info. I know about wearing layers but I must admit I wasn’t thinking summer.
