  1. Yes to Auckland; have you heard which hotel we are staying at? What about Australia and Indonesia? Marc
  2. Fantastic! I am on the Mariner in the UK so I only get the British Regent site. I guess Brtions don't get visas so it is not listed; glad to know it is stil there for Americans. On our Grand Voyage next year with you we need New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and India visas (or other approvals) and a visa on arrival in South Africa. I sure hope Regent either handles or provides us with a link to a visa service to handle these. I know I will have to get all the West Africa visas on my own.
  3. The waiters in La Veranda do use the push button coffee machines to fill orders so if you don't like the machines you might want to stop by Coffee Corner.
  4. Removed from Grand Voyages as of 1 July 2024 update. Don't know if this is on purpose or a quirk of the pricing updates. Hopefully find out soon. Marc
  5. We will be arriving for the day at Berth 102 in Horizon Terminal. We are planning on taking the passenger ferry to Isle of Wight that leaves from T2. What is the best way to get to and from Horizon Terminal and Ferry Terminal? How long should we allocate for each trip? thanks, Marc
  6. We have sailed a number of times in Cat H 664 with never an issue with sound. Slight vibration but never an issue. I really like the direct access to Horizon Lounge.
  7. Mariner has a short five day dry dock this October. 12-17 October but they need to get from Barcelona to Rome so I can't imagine more than four day dry dock (and I don't know if dry dock or wet dock). I heard it was for critical repairs. Probably plumbing but haven't heard that from a reliable source.
  8. Don't know number of kids; probably less than ten. This cruise was marketed as special offer for kids. We had a fantastic Grand Voyage Brunch today in Horizon Lounge. Both bar and culinary teams put a lot of work into it. Last night we had 4.5 meter waves so I think most were late getting going today so brunch well attended. We just docked in Torshavn and will be here overnight. Andy announced at the brunch a very special group of entertainers coming on for a pre-dinner pre-departure show next Sunday. If you track our itinerary, you could probably figure out who these entertainers might be. We have skipped lots of excursions so far as we have spent lots of time in Greenland and Iceland; however, tomorrow starts a ten day stretch where we are likely to take our excursions each day; will be nice to get to St Malo for our next "sea" day. More later, Marc
  9. Club Mariner has arrived; Conference Room is “adult free zone.” Crew this segment is 456 versus 458 last segment so I don’t know where they got the staff to run Club Mariner.
  10. You will be able to tell which ship is being deleted when the 26/27 schedules come out next week. If the Voyager or Navigator is slated for Mediterranean fall 2026 followed by trans Atlantic then Caribbean then back to back Panama Canal then more Caribbean then that ship’s itineraries can be swapped out for the PCH. Since neither of those ships have done that order of itineraries it will be a tell tale sign. If neither ship has these itineraries I will be totally wrong; not the first time.
  11. Explorer class has forward balconies on both 12 and 14. The picture of prestigious seems to have only regent suite balcony. I agree with Scott that having no forward looking outer decks is a terrible design choice. We were lucky on explorer in Alaska that regent suite was empty so titanium and diamond got to see Hubbard glacier from regent suite.
  12. Bill, if you could update your Mariner spreadsheet: 802 Cat F Forward Tub/shower combo Absolutely terrible room. Maintenance tried four times to fix shower. Water temp keeps changing. Regulator replaced but still didn’t solve problem. AC works great after two visits from maintenance. Do not recommend this cabin.
  13. Karen, there are four areas unique to Mariner. First is Mariner Lounge pre-dinner; it is unique amongst the lounges outside of Compass Rose in that it doesn’t need to double as the night club; Mariner has Stars Lounge for that. Second is the Garden Promenade; a great place to drink coffee; play games, work on the puzzle, or read a book. Third is the observation lounge. The only one in the fleet with outside areas to take pictures. In addition, it is two levels above the bridge so no need for strong tinting or curtains that must be closed at night like on the other ships. Fourth is Horizon Lounge on the stern of deck 6. There is an outdoor seating area which is great. Voyager also has Horizon Lounge but it was deleted from the newer ships. As you probably can tell Mariner is my favorite ship.
  14. Two years ago we spent just one day in Torshavn, this year we are scheduled for two; I will let you know if there is any change to schedule.
  15. Today we arrived in Iceland. Although no transit through Prince Christian Sound due to ice (why do those in Miami keep forgetting that there is ice up north), we did get an extra day in Nuuk. Weather in Greenland was fantastic. Ship continues to impress. Even with cold weather and a full ship, F&B Brandon and Beverage Manager Brako have continued to be flexible and get everyone fed and well lubricated. Lecturers have been good although redundant with same itinerary two years ago (to be expected). We are changing cabins in Reykjavik; living with the tub/shower combination was not as bad as I thought but I will be glad to move to shower only suite for remainder of grand voyage. Weather will be bad in Iceland (40s/50s and rain/drizzle) and Torshavn is not looking the best but things looking up once we get to Scotland. Mariner as great as ever. More to come. Marc
  16. Final summary does not show which ones I paid for. Luckily I found my printout from before I left that had what I paid. Luckily ship has $248 extra OBC on TV but they haven’t been able to get me a printout yet. I don’t want to spend it until I know it is real.
  17. Atlanta Cruiser, thank you. I book all trips without air and then decide if I need regent air later so no change for me. I just need to figure out how titanium transfers work with blacklane transfers.
  18. Has anyone had problems clicking on "view details" or "view purchases" of a cruise that they are currently sailing on? I get a pup up of "run script" with a long line after that but no listing of details or purchases. We are on a five segment trip and I would just like to figure out what we have purchased in tours on later segments; Destinations does not have this information.
  19. I just wait until I get onboard. If you want something not usually carried (like Blanton’s) I would have your TA request at least 60 days in advance.
