  1. In the absence of an accurate count of riders waiting to go to deck X, the system will prioritize fuller cars, and/or the car for X will arrive and all those waiting will not fit. The land based facilities where I regularly see these systems clearly ask that each individual make a request at the kiosk.
  2. Hmmmm DW always takes it out of the drawer and stows it in the closet to clear up drawer space.
  3. One of the hospitals where I work has these smart elevators. They are awesome; every elevator is point to point express.
  4. I don’t think you can use a VISA gift card for online account. My TA had my AMEX on file and makes all payments to the cruise line; I have never been asked to check a box giving the cruise-line permission to access my card at that time. I agree, it’s not a huge problem; but I don’t feel I am jumping through hoops. With very little effort I avoid any errant charges, and the seemingly endless credit holds and hold cancellations. I just prefer it this way, clean, clear, concise charges; like all my other things expenses in my life.
  5. I do it with the individual in the terminal that checks you in on the I-Pad. Side note; we have stopped uploading our photos; that seems to create a window in the process while they take the picture to bring up the credit card.
  6. Yes, I put in a card for check in (unfortunately online check in requires it); it’s a simple process to have the card removed on arrival, and in my opinion, worth the extra step.
  7. Not without your authorization When you check in, tell them to remove the credit card they have on file; there is no requirement to have a card on file.
  8. Another way to address this issue (which I have been doing since shortly before Covid) is set up as a cash account upon boarding, late the last evening or early the last morning go to GS (there is no line then) look at your invoice, if it's good pay it off with my AMEX. This way it is impossible for them to add any charges post cruise.
  9. This makes absolutely no sense. How is a scammer going to benefit by adding a charge to your Royal final folio statement? hint: they aren’t, they can’t, they won’t.
  10. Labadee is part of actual Haiti, it’s a peninsula not an island. No swimming necessary.
  11. No, you must hold onto your bags until rooms are announced “open”
  12. No one, (at least me) is calling you a liar. Just pointing out that the information posted about the islands requiring 6 months on your passport was errant, that is all.
  13. On your list ONLY Martinique has a passport requirement at all for cruise passengers; and even they don’t have a 6 month rule. Passport information on the state dept site does not take cruising into consideration.
  14. No doubt, inclement weather will make ANY ship feel more crowded inside than when the weather is nice.
  15. You state you have been on Liberty of the Seas. With the exception of shows letting out, and boarding day congestion; I find Oasis class ships feel less crowded than Freedom class. The ships neighborhood concept spreads people out very very well.
  16. I never said that’s what it meant. I said, according to the state department numbers, less than half the American population held a valid passport.
  17. No, a 7 day cruise. Diamond plus couple gets 10 daily vouchers. $14 value per voucher = $980 value Not a stretch at all.
  18. Enjoy the change of scenery. It is common k owl edge in the industry that Royal’s loyalty program is the best in town. 4 drinks a day for a couple is an $800 value ($1000 for my wife and I at D+) I’m good with that
  19. Interesting that State Dept stats show, in 2023, less than half the American population had a valid passport. World travel has always been a big part of my life (and many of those on this board), I have forgotten, or failed to appreciate, the it is not for many many people.
  20. Evidently not, at least not yet. As long as bookings are at all time highs, NOTHING matters as much as profit.
  21. All they need to do is go to the Royal website and create an account. Once they are in, there will be an option to link a missing cruise, they will need the reservation number. This should give them visibility and access to their booking.
