  1. It makes the people I deal with personally better off. That’s really all I care about. Dishwashers, maintenance and laundry staff don’t even enter my equation.
  2. Probably room steward AND dining attendants. I doubt anyone would be worse off, the “behind the scenes” people that everyone seems all up in arms about would do just the same as they do now; getting the contracted minimum wage, more from Royal’s pockets and less from ours.
  3. EXCELLENT POST I wish I could like it more than once!!
  4. Seafarer minimum wage for 2023 is $658 per month, it goes up to $666 on 1 January 2024.
  5. Guilty conscience about what? I guess the answer is, absolutely no, since I’ve done nothing wrong.
  6. Yeah, very few places in TX where you can just line up. Most places require an appointment; however it’s not unheard of to wait 3 months or more for an appointment.
  7. Not after 2025 there won’t be, via federal mandate
  8. It amazes me the people that believe, lock stock and barrel, what biased crew members report to them.
  9. My point was, there will no longer be the option to not get a Real ID drivers license.
  10. I just looked through my annual travel insurance policy, there is not a single mention of the word passport in the entire policy, with the exception of one clause about emergency passport replacement in the case my passport is lost or stolen. having a passport versus traveling with a passport card, or even a birth certificate and drivers license; has absolutely zero affect on travel insurance benefits
  11. In a couple years, you won’t have a choice unless it gets delayed again
  12. Thank you, very similar requirements in Texas. Actually I’m sure it’s the same requirements just about anywhere. The excuse that it’s so much more difficult to get than a standard drivers license is just ridiculous.
  13. As the percentage of cruisers removing the auto gratuity grows, the employer has to see it for what it is- a message from the clientele.
  14. “On an hourly basis” included tips. the chef’s base salary is higher than the servers, was my point.
  15. Wow, didn’t realize some places gave you a choice. I agree, dumb not to get it
  16. Not payroll taxes,(except on US based employees) I think that was the point.
  17. But when it is time to renew your DL, you won’t have a choice.
  18. I can't really speak to that; I understand what you are saying, but we go to many restaurants and often get a drink without ordering food. As a matter of fact I have never been told "you have to order food to get a drink"
  19. That’s a bar or airport rule, definitely NOT a Texas law
  20. That’s a Princess restriction, not a Texas restriction.
