No, they are subsidizing revenue. This revenue does nothing for my cruise costs except to possibly raise it as people prove to the cruise line they will pay for this type of thing.

No one on here (save one) has mentioned not tipping, many of us just do it differently

You can’t do that, auto tips are an “all in or all out” proposition

Read the room, my yelling was simply in reply to the yelling of the post I quoted. No nerve to touch here, I am very comfortable in the way I conduct my business; and the staff that cares for me and mine seem very satisfied

Grats being raised annually has nothing to do with people removing them. They raise the gratuities because you pay them without questioning it.

The crew puts the cash in their pocket and it is never mentioned again.

Upon turning 18, your points should not have reverted to 0, you should still have the number of points you earned on the cruises you physically took. if your parents were Diamond prior to your 18th birthday, then you are Diamond now, regardless of whether or not you cruised with them when they were Diamond.

I have no idea if you would be flagged or even what that would constitute. Real world experience, however, I can say having not ever paid auto-gratuity, Royal gladly accepts my cruise bookings time and time again.

By the way, you obviously don't understand the math if you consider the $20 anything but incredibly generous. No one claimed to tip only the $20, but to show a 1600X increase in daily salary of one person by simply not participating in a silly scheme
