Thank you. I am well aware the published position statement on the topic.
Behind the scenes personnel, as I stated above, are not tipped positions. My cruise fare covers their salary.
Completely different business model; you are comparing apples and oranges.
Furthermore, no one (at least me) is advocating to not tip. I just refuse to be guilted into blindly contributing a pre determined amount into a slush fund
Since win are laundry staff and dishwashers, tipped positions?
Clean linen and clean flat ware are the bare minimum expected for my exorbitant cruise fare
Then they must be aware that gratuities are optional and not guaranteed.
My statement was they know what they’re guaranteed salary is, that is what you sign or do not sign the contract for.
They still get gratuities from me, it’s just in a different format.
And Royal makes sure the crew gets paid for exactly what their contract says. If one isn’t OK with the guts red minimum wage, they should not have signed the contract
Where do your family members live? I assure you, they are being paid a living wage as determined by that home county; otherwise they would not have signed the contract to work
Hardly positive news. They were FORCED to make this change because the messaging function is next to worthless a not worth paying for. Also, no other lines joined in on this money grab, this made Royal look bad.
