Does Carnival show baseball games on Fox or FS1?
ledges1 replied to DallasCruiseCouple's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
World Series was on TV (Fox) last October on the Horizon. The bar was packed with people standing in the hall outside the bar. -

Carnival Spirit 6 and 8 day cruises to Bahamas only...
ledges1 replied to stormgrey11's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
For me this is not a good move. It appears Carnival is promoting Celebration Key and hoping people we book the private beach. Also promoting Nassau and the new port facilities. Overall,, Mobile is an expensive city for commercial flights. The best way to hold down your expense is to drive. Even then, they will charge you $20 a day to park. There are better options than Mobile if you want to take a Carnival cruise. The lack of variety may hurt future capacity. Overall, this could reduce Carnival’s fuel cost. Mobile is at the bottom of the list of cities to get a cruise ship. Additional downsizing by Carnival will cost Mobile a ship. After this new contract is complete in 2025, it may be over for Mobile. -

This is junk! -
I have gotten on the ship early and late. I have about 25 cruises on the books. I can understand purchasing FTTF if you are new to cruising. The excitement of the first cruise. In reality, there is really not that much to do when you get on early (the first 200) vs if you are number 1000. The biggest positive appears to be avoiding the long lines. This can be accomplished by getting on later and saving the money for an excursion/something fun. This is just an opinion based on my experience.

I had unused once near the end of my cruise. I visited the liquor store.

Interesting article about fuel surcharge being a possibility. https://www.businessinsider.com/carnival-says-passengers-paying-fuel-surcharge-fee-not-off-table-2023-10?utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=topbar#

You seem to be a seasoned cruiser. I have been on the Magic and the Vista Class ships (Horizon). In my opinion the ship differences is not material. Go on the trip that fits your budget and convenience.

On board credit/Carnival Credit Card
ledges1 replied to Susan in Maine's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
My Carnival credit card is issued by Barclay. I go to the Barclay credit card site and apply the points to my credit card statement and receive a credit to my outstanding credit card balance. It will show on the statement when the credit card cycle ends and drops as statement. -
I have suggested that Carnival should open a Waffle House on board for those that stay up late. After midnight, that is the go to place in the U.S.

I have been there and experienced it. It is cheaper than going to the Spa.

Carnival signs five year deal with Mobile
ledges1 replied to tidecat's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Is it the ship or the new 6 and 8 day itinerary vs the previous 4 and 5 day trips. I would lean toward the new itinerary of the the 6 and 8 day cruises. It is just an opinion. I do agree with your pricing comment. All in, Mobile is more expensive. Mobile, AL is an expensive city for flights. I live in the area and if I need to fly, I drive to Pensacola. -
I would like to try other lines, however, my wife is a coin pusher fanatic. Not all cruise lines have the machine. It appears RCL and NCL have the coin pusher. She would not be happy if the cruise ship did not have the coin pusher. She will play for hours to get the black “S”. It appears as you go up to the higher lines, they do not have the coin pushers. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

One-time free cabin upgrade OR third, fourth and fifth guests sail free ✔ I was confused. It is the 3rd guest free when becoming Diamond. I hope I got it right this time.
-
maybe this is what I was thinking about. Is this still available? Carnival Cruise Line Carnival does not offer a free cruise to its members of the VIFP Club. Diamond is the top tier of the loyalty program and requires at least 200 points. While there is no free cruise here, you can at least get a one-time free cabin upgrade or a 3rd guest sailing free once the Diamond level is reached. Some other perks for this top tier include a complimentary meal for two at a specialty restaurant and unlimited wash and fold laundry service.
-
Well crap. I thought Carnival offered a free cruise for the individual becoming diamond. That would be 50% off for 2 people. We would still have to pay port charges for the person becoming Diamond. Did they do away with this Diamond benefit. If so, I should have left before now.

If you could bring back any Carnival ship...
ledges1 replied to CarnivalShips480's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
My first cruise was on the Elation. I am cruising on the Elation in October. I have cruised on the Ecstasy and the Fantasy. I am glad they both have exited the fleet. -
I am 2 cruises short of Diamond. I have a cruise booked in October and January. After that, I will try other cruise lines. Of course, I will not forget to use my free cruise I receive for me and my wife after becoming Diamond. However, I am ready to try something different.

Will the Spirit be around in 5 years? This is good news for Mobile. They need the $s from parking to pay for the bond issue on the cruise terminal and parking deck. It remains empty during the off season. It is difficult with only about 5 months of cruising. I live in the area and prefer New Orleans. Parking in Mobile is $20 a day. That is steep for an 8 day cruise and there are not other parking options in Mobile. You can find reasonable priced parking in NO (Fulton Garage). I am bored with the Conquest Class in New Orleans.
