  1. If you use Fulton. A few tips. You will drop off your luggage on S. Diamond (side street next to deck) before entering the parking deck. Your passengers can get out with your luggage. You then pull in the deck and park. You enter the parking deck from Convention. The elevators are small and do not accommodate large bags. I drop off my wife and the luggage and then park. They have luggage handlers to put the luggage in the back of the bus. The driver will remove the luggage at the port. The bus will also be at the drop off point on the day of debarkation when the first people step off the ship.
  2. Check Fulton Place parking. They run a shuttle to the port. It is a parking deck. It is one street over on Convention from the port. I have used them several times and I am booked for my next cruise.
  3. I have been to Costa Maya a few times. The port shopping area (small) has a nice pool. If I remember correctly, if you use the loungers, you had to buy food or drinks. If not you may have to pay for a lounger. I could be wrong. However, a waiter will be at your lounger before you have a chance to relax. If there is more than 1 ship, the port can become crowded. If you go to the town, there are plenty of beach locations renting chairs. Most chairs in the public area are old. You can negotiate the price and initial bucket of brew. The beach is ok. Being familiar with the Florida gulf coast, you will be disappointed. The beaches in Cozumel are better. I have been to the town twice and probably will not go back.
  4. Mobile, AL downtown - to or from PNS Airport $120.00 2 passengers, $5 each additional passenger, kids 13 years and under are free. This is an airport shuttle.
  5. The scary part of the setup is that the woman had her arms around my neck putting the necklace on me before I could resist. Any resistance may have caused the local men to intervene. I got away cheap at $5.
  6. The necklace happened to me and the woman wanted $10 in front of the Straw Market. I looked past her and there were a couple of local men watching her. She was working for them. I gave her $5 and got my wife (at the straw market) and we went back to the ship. Nassau cruise port is a dump. You can remodel the port all you want but it does not change it.
  7. My wife becomes Diamond on the 1/14/24 cruise. She got their a lot faster (more cruises) with more moderately priced cruises.
  8. My cruise is January 14th. My boarding pass reads as above. I completed boarding information on 12/29. I have not received the email above with the detail room instructions for baggage drop off. I will update my post with information upon receipt.
  9. I remember back when the Red Frog Pub had buy one get one on embarkation day for 2 hours. My wife and I would each buy one and take one to the room. We would do it twice and have 4 in the fridge for later. The line would be out the door into the Promenade. They also had specials on the fish bowl drinks. This has gone away. Also, the Casino bar use to have $3 wine on port days for 2 hours (2 to 4) while most people were off the ship. Gone also.
  10. I am platinum and my wife becomes Diamond in January. I have dropped my bags off and left the room as you have stated before 1:30. But my boarding pass for the next cruise states rooms will not be ready until 1:30 even for platinum and Diamond. This seems to contradict dropping off bags and leaving. Is the drop off and leave policy in writing for platinum and Diamond
  11. I will be on the Glory in January out of New Orleans for 7 days. I booked this cruise thinking most kids will be back in school and an older crowd. On my last cruise in early November, Security was very prevalent through out the cruise ship. I hope this is the case in New Orleans. In Jacksonville, the police were walking a dog on board during the boarding process. Again, I hope this is the case in New Orleans. We did not smell marijuana in November but have in the past. I am sorry you experienced this behavior. If you have videos, I would send to Carnival. If this happened on my cruise, Carnival would hear loud clear about the problem, especially if I had video evidence.
  12. Mahogany Bay is a private port for Carnival and they control the schedule. In Cozumel the Carnival port can fill up and we have ported downtown as over flow, but it was scheduled to port downtown. Belize does not have a pier and is a tender as is the Caymans.
  13. I have been to the western Caribbean more times than I can remember. However, I still prefer it over Nassau and Freeport. If I spend the travel dollars to go to Miami or Canaveral, I will go to St Maarten, San Juan, Amber Cove or the ABC islands. I did take a cruise from Jacksonville. Mainly because it was convenient and was going to Princess Cay. We missed Princess Cay due to weather. The other stop was Nassau. Even with the port improvements, the city of Nassau is not inviting. We spent most of our time on the ship.
  14. I have about 10 koozies. The metal strap in one that makes it coil became exposed and cut my finger. Threw it away. I have two Fanny packs from November, I tried to give them to the thrift store but my wife wanted to hang on to them. Maybe they will become next year’s tax deductions.
  15. Your post mentioned that you put down a deposit. Was this a significant amount (50%)? Is the deposit refundable if you cancel the trip? If they refuse to refund the deposit, do you have any recourse? Do you have trip insurance? These are important factors in making a final decision. Are you willing to lose the deposit and walk away if it is not refundable? The ship missing the port is not likely. I think you have to decide if you want to go on the charter or reduce you loss now by cancelling. I went on a pirate ship in May in Aruba (3 people). We did not get far away from the shore and the water was very rough. My wife did not enjoy the trip (rough water). The rough water made the snorkeling difficult. I did not do my research. Aruba is in the east to west trade winds and the wind never, never stops blowing. We also chartered a fishing boat. Again the water was very rough and we only caught 4 fish. We were in Aruba for 5 days, the best location was on the beach.
  16. The chances are slim that you will miss the port. In more than 25 cruises, I have missed one port (Nov 2023) and had 1 cruise delay by 1 day due to tropical storm closing the port of Mobile. However, some ports have been missed recently in the Gulf and Caribbean due to high winds. It seldom rains in Aruba and it is always windy and the water rough. It seems you may be self insured on this excursion.
  17. Yahoo Finance (Earnings report for CCL, part of Carnivals financial reporting).

  19. It appears all the changes and price increases are working in their favor. With more changes to come in the future, they may be able to pay a very small dividend to their shareholders in a few years.
  20. I am not being sarcastic. Try your local thrift stores. We bought one for $.50, it was similar to the red one in the picture above.
  21. I have a 189 days cruising and I have never been turn down on stock credit. I have had some good deals during that time.
  22. I cruised with my son and daughter (30s) prior to COVID on Carnival. My son called it many things in reference to the age of the cruisers. Many of you would be offended. If Princess Cruise is older, count me out.
  23. Cookie made a joke similar to this in October of 2022. He also made another joke that he was not gay but his boyfriend was. These jokes were all made in public settings. He may have finally pushed the envelope to far.
  24. I was on a cruise with Cookie in Oct of 2022. I thought he was ok. My daughter was on a cruise with him in May and he told people on that cruise he wanted a career change.
