  1. Any secret to the “fix” to log in with just the booking reference -no name, - no dob? My Nov TATL was all complete in the app. All I had to do to get green lane status was order the Medallions. I was holding off until after the Sept Diamond cruise so that my +1 could get her gold medallion, rather than another cruise with a blue one (oh the humanity!). After my Sept cruise was removed from the app and the Feb replacement was added, the next cruise up, the November TATL, refuses to let me into the Medallion order screen with an error that something has gone wrong and I need to log back in again. If I try to go into the travel check list page and try to click on documents link, I get the same error. I did see a mention of a web URL on this site and tried that, but get the same issue. I do see the use booking number option, but the login button is not enabled until I enter name, dob and I get stuck in the same error loop. In the app, it tries to link the booking, but upon entering the data, I get a this booking has already been claimed message. How does one look/amend a booking using just the booking number? The replacement Feb cruise to Cabo is there and I can see all the info there. Same with the April 24 eclipse cruise, but if I try to add a credit card to the Feb cruise, even though the cruise ends before the end of Feb, as my credit card expires that month, the app complains that I need a credit card expiration that is valid past the end of the cruise and won’t take it. I’m pretty sure Feb 25 is before the end of Feb. You have to love Princess Cruises IT!

Despite my initial thoughts that the cruise was too expensive (balcony is currently 2x the price for a balcony on my 14 day Rome to FLL cruise in November for later this year) it is a once in a lifetime experience, so as it also met my golden rule of “if a suite is less than 2x the price of a balcony, then book the suite”, so I booked a premium suite for the eclipse cruise. It didn’t hurt that I was able to use the 3 day sale offer to get the deposit down from $1600 to $200 as all my FCDs timed out and were returned to me. See you all there.
  3. Same here. I submitted my request the day the cancellations were announced. I was getting a little worried as the replacement cruise for the only date that worked for me only has 6 cabins in my fare category and 3 of those were already gone. I feel better now after getting the new confirmation this morning. $100 credit, plus all the benefits of the original cruise show up in the cruise summary.
  4. I cancelled my mid cruise SD reservation which had been charged to my credit card on the morning of the Diamond Princess cancellation notifications later that day. The refund hit my credit card this morning, so just a few days for it to show up. That said, it was going to come back to me at some point after the cruise was cancelled.
  5. I submitted my email request last week. OBC showed up for my November cruise this morning. No notification received from Princess despite what the auto response email stated. I got caught up in the Diamond Princess cancellations for Sept, so no OBC update to that cruise. Still waiting on confirmation of my transfer request for the replacement cruise. I’d rather Princess worked on that part, rather than crediting a cruise that has not even got to final payment status.

  7. I was booked on the Sep 6 5 day Cabo cruise. I was soooo Looking forward to being able to jump in an Uber and go cruising out of my own port. I’m tempted to transfer to one of the replacement itineraries later in the year out of San Pedro as those fares on the Discovery are about 30% higher than what I paid for the Diamond cruise. I booked through a big warehouse travel agent, so who knows how many hoops I will have to jump through to switch.
  8. I don’t have that option on this particular cruise. It appears that Sterling is closed every night of my September cruise. I’m going to assume staff shortages are to blame here. If I had my way and I had to use the credit on the first night only and Sterling was available, then I would absolutely book Sterling.

  10. I submitted my request last Tuesday. I got the canned response back immediately. As of today, still no sign of the OBC. I’m not particularly worried as I still have 4 weeks till my sailing date and I’m only on day 7 of the 21 day timer.
  11. I prefer steak over Italian 😉 and I’m still miffed that Sabatini’s stopped the 10 course tasting menu.
  12. I went back and took a look at DMW for my September cruise as the $50 SD charge for day 3 Sabatini’s reservation definitely hit my credit card despite a dining credit showing at the top. If I look at the day 1 of the cruise and select SD, I see a $50 charge, but if I scroll down further, there is a $50 credit available, so if I confirmed first night dining, then no actual charge. I cancelled my day 3 SD reservation as I would prefer Sterling if I had to pay for it, but it’s not availability on my cruise. Let’s see how the refund takes to hit my credit card. Best case is that I board without a SD reservation, still have an SD credit showing on my account and I’m allowed to move it to day 3 of the cruise.
  13. Nothing showing up for arrival times in the app for my Sept 5th cruise which is also on the Diamond. Hoping that Princess is still working on arrival logistics as that cruise, along with the September 1 cruise depart from San Diego, so not a typical Princes cruise start/end port
  14. We got buzzed a few times by an F18 Hornet on our way back from Cabo on the Royal on the 2019 Thanksgiving Mexican Riviera Cruise. We were up in the Sanctuary so got some pretty nice views of a few passes along side the ship. The last pass was right down the ship’s center line bow to stern with both afterburners lit. Once clear of the ship, the pilot did a barrel roll and then went vertical. Highlight of the cruise for me for sure!
  15. I miss the old 10 course tasting menu from Sabatini’s. As a result, I usually opt for the Crown Grill when picking a SD venue. I usually opt for SD on Italian night in the MDR, so another reason to opt for the Crown Grill. I’m on the Diamond next month which has Sterling, rather than Crown, but Sterling does not seem to be open at all during my cruise dates. That said, Sterling on the Diamond is just a sectioned off portion of the horizon court, so not the best ambience.
  16. As my credit card billing cycle had ended, I went through with the SD reservation and as expected, it charged my credit card. In the App I can see my reservation, but I still get a message across to top stating that I have a dining credit. I was going to use the credit to book a SD table for 9:10PM on the overnight stop in Cabo as we are on a sun set sail excursion and will probably miss the MDR opening times. If I had to pay, I would prefer Sterling rather than Sabatini’s, so will probably cancel my reservation for a refund.
  17. I had a similar issue last month. In my case, my DOB was out by a day and Princess had me living in the UK and not the US. Neither field could be updated online, so I had to call in. My profile was fixed rather easily, but after dropping the call and logging in, I could not access any of my bookings as my DOB on the reservations no longer matched my profile, so I had to call back in again to get the reservations corrected. On of my reservations has an EZAir component, so I logged into the airline website and my DOB was correct there, so it was definitely correct at Princess at one point (I’ve had the account almost 20 years) i figured that it was it was related to a glitch I often see. I’m a UK citizen residing in the US and usually right after final payment, my reservation flips me from a US resident to a UK resident which screws up my home airport and I have to call to get it fixed. I now have a US passport so thought all that trouble was behind me, but I experienced the “some account info is missing” and saw that I had been flipped back to UK residency when trying to add it back. Ive now deleted my UK passport info, so hopefully Princess will keep me as a US resident/citizen.

My observations regarding DMW on 2 upcoming cruises (first since Nov 2019) Despite being Elite and 1 of the upcoming cruises being paid in full, the app always told me that it was too soon and come back later. Saw notes in here about a new version, so tried to update the app which always failed during the installation process. Had to delete the app completely and then install the new version. Now I could see my DMW options. Cruise #1 has access to CC, so no need to select a dining plan. I also see that I have a dining credit. Not sure where that came from. Was not part of the cruise package and despite being in a suite, as it’s only a 5 day cruise, it does not qualify for SD for the first night. If I try to reserve a SD option, I’m only offered Sabattinis. I’m guess Sterling is not operating on my cruise. If I try to reserve a slot, the app wants to charge my credit card. If I use the web based portal, rather than the app, I do not see a dining credit, but I also do not see the CC notification. For the second cruise in November, I’m in a balcony suite, so opted to book the same time slot for the entire 14 days Latest time available for a shared table was 7PM. I could go later, but only private tables were available in either dining room (Island Princess, so only 2 dinning rooms, though both seem to be bookable) Selected entire cruise, 7PM, shared in the Provence dining room and checked my daily reservations. Only the first night was shared and every other night was private! So much for that option in the app. Went into each daily booking and clicked edit. Switched private to shared and saved and ended up with 2 7PM reservations each day. Cancelled the 7PM private reservations. Rechecked each day. First week was fine, all 7PM shared, but 2nd week showed 5PM shared. Clicked edit again and switched to 7PM. As above, ended up with 2 reservations, so had to cancel the 5PM shared ones.
