  1. I second looking at insuremytrip.com - you can compare the plans and the coverage. Very easy to use. I finally made a small claim last year. Nothing medical, luckily. Air Canada refused to reimburse for 100% of the hotel after two flight cancellations forced me to spend the night in Montreal. My insurance paid the difference of the actual cost and what Air Canada covered.
  2. Did anyone hear from Green Visions Tours? If so, which tour are you taking?
  3. Thanks for the review. We will be on Jade in Nov, doing a transatlantic cruise from Lisbon. Any tips for the Jade? Did you use the Thermal Suite?
  4. You are incorrect. If you look at the deck plans on the Epic, there is a Posh deck area on Deck 18 and then on Deck 16, there is a Haven courtyard pool and spa. They are separate areas. Non Haven passengers who have purchased Posh deck access have access to the Posh deck (which is a multi deck sun deck with a bar) but they don't have access to the Haven courtyard and pool.
  5. I was just on the Epic in April and there were only 2 entrances/exits to the Posh Deck - both the doors from a deck and the elevator and to enter you needed to scan in your ship cabin card. I wasn't a Haven guest, I paid for access. Even Haven guests had to swipe their ID cards, otherwise anyone could enter.
  6. I had two cruise next certificates so I was able to apply mine to two current reservations. It was great timing as one of my reservations has the final payment due soon. I read on another post the offer expires on June 27.
  7. If you want to do mock bookings, open a "new incognito window" in your browser and search from there, then put a fake name/email if you need to see the final price.
  8. I would say it depends on when in April. Most school systems have spring break the week before or the week after Easter. Easter is on March 31, 2024
  9. If it’s also 4 months ahead of the sailing, you can use two cruise next certificates for balcony and above.
  10. I know for those in the US, if we are in another country it's better to pay in that country's currency, even on a credit card. For example if I was in Scotland, and I was charging something on my credit card, if the merchant asks if I wanted to be charged in US dollars or the local currency, I would say in the local currency. It's always been advise to not pay in US dollars on your credit card. The exchange rate is better. On that same advice, I would suggest if you have a choice, have it charged in your local currency.
  11. I'm planning to sail on the Jade in November in a Trans Atlantic crossing (Nov 3 from Lisbon to NYC). I'm thinking about getting a thermal spa pass, but it doesn't look like much seating or very big on the videos I have found on youtube? Has anyone used it and what did you think? Does it get crowded? It doesn't seem very large and doesn't seem like alot of seating either. Thanks in advance.
  12. I've used ABC tours a couple times when I've been to Aruba. I've never taken a cruise to Aruba but I stay on the island. They were good. We had a driver on the jeep. Our tour even included lunch which was really good. They even picked us up (it was at the hotel, but ask if they will pick you up at the cruise port). https://abc-aruba.com/jeep-tours/
  13. What type of cabin did you book? Did you do a mock booking on the NCL site? Have you searched a 3rd party site and do a mock booking on your sailing? If so you should do that to see what's available.
  14. Sorry to hear the hotel didn't meet your expectations. As others said, hotels in Europe aren't expected to have US outlets. Why would they? Same concept if someone from another country comes to the US and complains the hotels don't have power outlets for every other country that exists. Good you reported the issues to NCL. I've learned when you go through a 3rd party to book a hotel, the hotel sometimes give you the worse one, or not the best location. I would suggest in the future don't go through NCL to book a hotel, normally you can get the same hotel cheaper or a better one cheaper. I remember once pricing out a hotel that NCL was going to use and it was significantly cheaper to book directly (even with the additional cost of transportation to the port)
  15. I get the same thing. Everytime I do a mock booking to check on prices I get a call. They call at least once a day for several days after that. I know when I see a call from Florida to ignore it. I have found PCC's are not needed.
  16. What a shame. I saw Six on the Breakaway and had also seen it on Broadway. Both performances were excellent
  17. When I was there on the Epic in April, we docked in Amber Cove with another cruise line ship in that port. On the same day another Norwegian ship was at another port in the Dominican Republic.
  18. Thanks for the review. I agree with you about those who are vaping and are so self centered they think the rules don't apply to them. Luckily on our last cruise, we only saw a couple people in non smoking areas. As soon as they saw us, they walked away quickly (otherwise I would have reported them). I think if enough people report them to the crew, hopefully the crew will enforce the non smoking policy except designated areas more.
  19. Yes, just like cruiseny4life said, sometimes NCL reps can see rooms available that you can't see online (I've had that happened before). The other option is if you want a balcony and there aren't any regular balcony cabins available, look at what is available for a family balcony, sometimes they aren't much more or worth being able to pick the cabin you want. If you can't find the deck plan just google "ship name deck plan" and it'll come up.
  20. I think only about 5 or 6 people.
  21. I took a really interesting walking tour of Charlottetown (in addition to a cruise excursion). The name is "Secrets of Charlottetown Walking Tour". Really interesting guide and she was very informative. I booked ahead of time, but a couple people just joined and paid her at the meeting place. It was convenient, because I ate lunch at the meeting place, the "Merchantman Fresh Seafood and Oyster Bar", which had good food. https://www.secretsofcharlottetown.com/
  22. If there is a restaurant server named Cherry who works at the Summer Palace, be sure and ask to sit in her section. She was such a great server, we specifically ate in her section for every breakfast, and we weren't the only ones asking to sit in her section. She also worked dinner at Le Bistro. This was in September, so not sure if she's still working on the Pearl.
  23. Two places with good Lobster Rolls in Bar Harbor are Geddy's and Galyn's. They are next door to each other. I would suggest checking to see about making a reservation, as both restaurants get busy. In Halifax, I didn't have Lobster rolls but ate at two really good restaurants. One is the Henry House and the other was The Brown Hound Public House.
  24. Last year I wanted to book a specific cruise, but I wasn't sure if the 2nd person could go on the cruise as I was booking it about a year in advance. I was going to go as a solo if they couldn't. I called and asked NCL would it be better to add the 2nd person or remove the 2nd person later. They told me it would be easier to remove the 2nd person's name then add them (as long as we did it before final payment was due).I would have to pay the solo supplement, but it was easier to remove the 2nd person's name. It turned out the 2nd person could go after all. I would see if you can add a 2nd person's name to your current reservation and then make any changes before final payment is due.
