  1. Amazing, what a coincidence !!! That's the one... The cake costs us 60$ and the shipping -- a whopping 30$. Splurging once in a year, since pecans are my favorite nuts, hard to get them here in good quality.
  2. Thank you Terry @TLCOhio and @cruisemom42 for this encouraging info. I'm wary of traveling to Europe during winter months, I really don't like the cold and the rain. But in January we'll celebrate our golden wedding anniversary, and DH asked to see the Carnival in Venice.... in February, no less. At least we'll brave the cold but not the "acqua alta" πŸ˜‰.
  3. Helen & Co, wishing you ALL a very enjoyable cruise on beautiful Allure. One of the fun things we've done on Allure on a sea day, was looking for the "little wonders". It's the only thing I prefer to order and not bake, since their pecans taste amazing (a bakery in Corsicana, Texas). The large one.... "aussie", in looking at the pic, I think I "detect" our "roaming" grounds in Sydney... Coming from CQ, we were going up to George street, and there was a Waffle house at the corner. Such fond memories, thank you.
  4. Dave, enjoy this very special and port intensive cruise 🌼 Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences on Pride of America. Curious how it will compare to ours, thanks.
  5. Very clever on your side, John, wholeheartedly agreeing with "Brillo" πŸ‘ Bethany, Andrew's huge smile says it all. Enjoy it to the fullest 🌼 @Lionesss, Sue, so very true... πŸ’˜ Sometimes, I'm feeling such a "void" after finishing a good book... Beautiful Bobby seems very "determined" 😘
  6. +1 😒 Three years now, and we can't seem to get rid of this nasty and stubborn virus.....
  7. Sorry, I had a senior moment, or two... #29 is "Going rogue". The new series is "The Recovery Agent". I've made a real " 'balagan'/mish mash" ☹️ PS -- Barnes and Noble are working nights? 2am seems a bit "excessive"....😧
  8. Agree, it was excellent, though it left me fearing that will be Harry's last one... How many times he can be "reinstituted"? πŸ˜‰ I've also read one of my fav series, #29 of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum. "Comfort food", a good laugh all around. Encouraged, I've ordered the first in her new series, "Rogue agent".... waste of time and money. Agree also about the earliest Lee Child's books. Not in a hurry to try the new ones. So I decided to go back to some of my paper books, and right now I'm very much enjoying Elmore Leonard's "Rum Punch". I'll have a look at CJ Box, always on the look out for new good authors.
  9. + 5 😒 , Mark @h20skibum At least you have a good book with you. I've finished it in one day, even though I was left with some doubts at the ending. Love Elvis & Joe πŸ˜‰
  10. We're also DIY people, but a one day visit to Jerusalem wouldn't do it justice. There are places were a skilled guide would be worthwhile. For just a day in Israel, you might think of a relaxing day at the Dead Sea, and a land vacation in Jerusalem, and other religious places, in your own pace.
  11. It's not a visa. It's a "piece of paper" (border control) you'll have to keep with your passport, in order to gain entry. That's instead of stamping your passport with an Israeli entry, should you need to travel to Arab countries, which "frown upon" those who had visited Israel.....
  12. @OnTheJourney + 1 . She looks marvelous, touch wood πŸ‘ + 1 , Cheers to Ginny 🍷, and Mimi - so glad to see you posting, I've been thinking about you 😘
  13. I'm so sorry for your loss of beloved Jan. Please accept my sincere condolences.
  14. The key word here is "seems".... The main points of interest in Jerusalem are in the old city, with narrow streets/lanes. Besides, the traffic to and from Jerusalem is horrendous. In one word (or two), I wouldn't attempt it alone. A reliable private tour company + suite with priority perks will be the only way to go. On second thoughts -- you don't have another stop in Haifa? That will give you the advantage of spending the night in Jerusalem and then travel from there to Haifa, to board the ship again.
  15. That will make him 45 years old... I remember vividly this day, John Lennon's, as well as the day of President Kennedy's assassination.
  16. Excellent news, Sue. I admit that my heart skipped a beat when I've seen your name.. glad you put the good news at the beginning of the post 😘
