  1. http://fhma.cclfunhub.com/~/media/files/documents/funtimes.pdf While on board, can you see if this URL still works to download funtimes pdf? I was looking for a short url last week, with no luck and didn't have internet access to google it.
  2. Man, I must be blind. Never even saw lido menu's last week. But I may have just been looking in the app. I usually didn't make a trip up to lido except to do my morning walks and a water after. I know you said it was delicious. But man that is crazy. Not was I was expecting at all. Hilarious sense of humor. Love it. I saw you followed up later, but it looks like if you are in different rooms, then you are stuck carrying around luggage until 1:30? Man that sucks. I walk about 3 miles everyday and saw a few people with shirts last week, but didn't realize I could have signed up for an event or something like that. I tend to do my own boring thing and not mingle. Oh well, that's too bad. I thought the crawfish strudel was among my favorite dishes of the week. I loved it. It's funny that you enjoyed the odd BBQ glaze on the fish. I didn't like that pairing at all. And on our ship it was consecutive nights with the BBQ fish. I got it the first night and avoided it the second. I am caught up to real time and glad to hear that you are having a good time on Magic. Try to get a one day pass to the relaxation area at least once so you can enjoy the thalassotherapy pool. Magic (class) has the best in the Carnival fleet. Enjoying your review and honestly seeing more of the ship through your eyes and pictures than I saw in person, which is kind of sad. I got to end of the week and kind of felt like we were pretty boring people all week.
  3. OMG. I was on my own cruise and see this thread now and it's 21 pages long. It'll take a bit for me to catch up. Can you give me a spoiler alert and let me know if the rumor of the Magic's demise was greatly exaggerated or is it to be avoided now? I would hate to read of my beloved ships decline, (it's our favorite ship).
  4. On the ship now and it seems like kids 12 and up are allowed in the Havana pool area now. There was a time that it was adults only. I found an old JH post from 2016 that said kids were allowed in the staterooms but not the pool area until after 5. I’ve not found anything more specific than that. So I guess time will tell. Today is embarkation day.
  5. You are hilarious. I am enjoying this review, though I'll probably never sail on excel class.
  6. Seeing lots of complaints about the debark you went through. It's got me a little concerned about out 11:45 flight. Never had any issues with walking off, usually before it's officially open. But looks like your debark was a HOT MESS.
  7. I wonder if something was wrong with the ship propulsion or something. If you had self carried would it have been remedied? Or still terrible do you think?
  8. I also saw this setting mentioned on another thread to be aware of:
  9. Supposedly you can actually send iMessages with no plan at all. I plan to test that out in a week.
  10. Different strokes for different folks. I have no desire to even try the Excel class ships. Thalassotherapy pool and deck 5 with the hot tubs on dream class is my favorite ship and Vista class havana is doable. But the lack of the thalassotherapy pool and havana means we'll probably never try Excel unless there is some wedding or other thing that draws us to one. I do occasionally price out the Excel Corner Aft Suite with Private Hot Tub or Loft 19 access, but it's as much as NCL Haven most of the times I've checked. Maybe one day we'll give it a shot, but now we don't have much desire to spend that much money when we can find peace and tranquility we seek elsewhere.
  11. I think so. Looks like it's shaver only and I'll need an adapter. Thanks.
  12. Yep. On one of these sort of posts I had posted all the things I enjoy. Chief among them peace and quiet and someone else posted "maybe you should look somewhere else besides Carnival." And it got me to thinking, "yep, maybe it's time to move on." And even the wife and I were talking on one of the ships or maybe it was after watching a video and she was like "Carnival is the same as always, you're the one that went and changed. They've always been the party ships." So it's something to be aware of. If you're not happy on Carnival and you seek peace and tranquility there might be other lines that are more suited to your tastes.
  13. Hmm that will be interesting to check out. I used to always get a casino used deck but it's been years since they have given them out and they said to check with GS. So if they've switched back that'll be cool. I prefer the casino cards over the cheap souvenir cards, though there are no jokers in the casino ones. (I think.)
  14. Got a peculiar one for you, do you mind checking the bathroom outlet and tell me if the receptacle has the bump on one leg of the power? Is it the one on the left or right? I have been on cruise ships where that outlet is "shaver only" and is like the left non-polarized one and it requires an adapter like this. Thanks so much! I prefer to shower with just a night light, without the harsh overhead lights and want to see if I need to order one of those adapters before next week.
  15. I know for sure Horizon has it. Recently been on more HAL than Carnival so I can't say 100% if it's fleet wide. But I was thinking it was.
  16. They also have two flavors of gelato at lido during the lunch hours. Picture here. I found the lido gelato to be better quality than the soft serve.
  17. I've found cans and cartons of water to be hard to find. So I just order the water. They don't allow bottles, though some people are able to get them on. I haven't been on carnival since before covid. On HAL, they've done away with this perk. And it's kind of hit and miss on how it's enforced at the port.
  18. Yea I told the wife we'd go by and get on the wait list. Who knows.
  19. Oh that's aggravating. I'm not on FB, wife is. But I missed this and it's already sold out for our Horizon 11/25 cruise. I had planned to run to excursion desk right away.
  20. I feel like if you love to cruise, you probably love the sound of the ocean. Those pictures, especially the black sand pictures. Wow. Thank you so much for posting. Those were wonderful. I could almost hear the sound of the waves. When I daydream about being an expat, it's usually the Spanish coastal towns that I am dreaming about. Assuming you only speak English? How was the language barrier?
  21. And it's only up to $100 bottles now. This thread mentions the new limit.
  22. I usually don't quote pictures, but that's my favorite view and place. So thank you. So excited. And a book editor. That would be a fun person to hang out with for awhile.
  23. Jimbo what's up. How did I miss this. Woooo. We are down to 12 days until we are in Horizon Havana interior.
  24. If it fills up, they will do a waitlist and if enough interest they sometimes do a second tour. Just FYI.
