  1. We've come across a few M'ds on QV and QE [not sailed QG on QM2] and there is only one I can take or leave. We don't find QG stuffy at all Mudhen but then, maybe we're part of the stuffiness!! 😄
  2. Yes they are and in our experience, replaced when the bottom of the bottle is nearing. If not, and you will hear that hasn't been the norm for everyone, just ask your butler. Enjoy 🙂
  3. Glad to see Yealands still on the list. It's my choice of cabin wine and yes, it is most palatable! I had it on tap in the restaurant too.
  4. I used to have spikes and still have two pairs of Gina evening shoes, in their boxes, which I can't bear to part with. Memories of bygone days. I'd break my ankle in them now! 😄
  5. That I can't answer with certainty as I haven't tried but I presume just as with the previous pass incarnation before the extended dates, you just make another Covid pass application and the expiry date will be from the date of the new application and the old QR code will be null and void.
  6. They are beautiful and the shoe police will love them [I certainly do] but will they stand up to the 1am stagger back to the cabin!😃
  7. For simplicity, the NHS uses both 180 days and 6 mths. For accuracy, individuals should refer to their own pass and maybe, before the pass is timed out, it will be redundant anyway. Maybe.🙂
  8. Large parties of people, not always a good idea. We were staying in a 4* hotel 'somewhere in the UK' many years ago for a long weekend and a national company held it's 'reward' weekend there. Friday night was a total disaster. They kept most of the other hotel residents awake 'til around 4am and a room was trashed. The other residents kept the general manager and his staff awake too!! Luckily for the rest of us, the party animals were 'asked' to leave. I have no problem with large parties but if they or anyone for that matter disregards the basic dress code requests or make life 'unpleasant' for the rest of the ship's passengers, then they should be asked to toe the line or disembark.
  9. Quite right. My mistake. I shouldn't have used the word app in #15 as it's the NHS website Who can get an NHS COVID Pass for travel I was quoting from and not the app. again and yes, the app does say 180 days but the NHS see fit to use the term 6mths too. For what reason is theirs to ponder on but it's in black and white on their website. So 180 days on the app and 180 days {6mths} on their web site. Both are of use but not as useful as keeping an eye on your own Covidd Travel Pass. An NHS COVID Pass for travel can be based on either your vaccination status or on a positive NHS PCR test result in the last 180 days (6 months).
  10. Definitely 180 days, but the NHS app also has 6 mths so both are valid timings...according to the NHS. 🙂 As I indicated before, the NHS probably think it easier to remember 6 mths than 180 days and 182.5 approx for 6 mths is even more difficult to remember. Hence 180 days /6 mths on the web site. Easier still is to remember the expiry date! I'll just renew mine when ever I feel like it.
  11. You can be pedantic as much as you want. 🙂 180 days is correct but then so is 6mths for those who find 180 days hard to calculate. An NHS COVID Pass for travel can be based on either your vaccination status or on a positive NHS PCR test result in the last 180 days (6 months).
  12. Why should one be worried about wearing red soled shoes? No one would notice and if they did, so what? I have clothes with well known [to some] labels but as I don't go for clothes with logos, no one would know and I couldn't care less if they did. One thing I can guarantee, no one else will be wearing the same! 🙂 The question re shoes was asked by the OP and has been answered. Factually. It is up to individuals to decide if they give their J.C's., M.B's, or Christian Louboutin's an airing or they go with their own choice which might not suit all shoe watchers but will fit the dress of the evening.
  13. Ace, I don't give advice out like that unless I am 100% sure of my facts. It's too important to get wrong. 🙂 Yes, I am sure.
  14. I logged into my NHS app, went to the NHS Covid Pass for travel, follow the links and lazy me had it emailed to me and I printed it off.. It's valid for 6 mths from date of printing and if I want a longer dated one, I'll just print off the pass again as it will have 6 mths from that date, on it.
  15. Ace, your Covid vaccination travel 'pass' should be valid for six months once you print or download it. The date will be under the 2D barcode.
  16. If I remember correctly, Weston is not new to Cunard and so will have experience of past dress codes, but I agree with the beautiful jacket. It will look splendid for the red and gold evening. I have a silk red and gold jacket which I sometimes forget about and this has reminded me to pack it.
  17. As one could also say 'there are trainers, and then there are trainers'! I have what I would term 'athletic' [that's an oxymoron in my case as I gave up athletics after Grammar school] shoes for the gym and walking but I wouldn't wear them in a restaurant. I also have what I can only describe as 'dress' trainers which are white leather and are part of this year's must have for dressed up casual wear so I can see why the question was asked. To that I would say, yes, 'dress' trainers would be fine but then, like the t shirt question [I'm with the collared shirt fraternity], interpretation is all and my interpretation of a 'dress' trainer is a shoe which is casual but not gym or 10,000metres ready. Minefield Still wouldn't wear them though as I have other lovely shoes to wear to dinner.
  18. If by athletic shoes, you mean trainers, I guess lunch or breakfast would be OK but I wouldn't wear them for dinner and I think you'd have to be more specific when asking about 'pickiness'. I wouldn't wear crocs [I don't actually possess a pair] , casual sliders or flip flops for dinner for example. I have worn white jeggings with a lovely floaty long line Kaftan for dinner in the past when in the tropics and will be doing so again. The top took away the casualness of the jeggings but as an outfit, they both worked perfectly. Only you will know if the fancy top and jeggings will work but mine did.
  19. I'm sure Port Royal's post was t in c. We used to spend six or seven weeks a year in the US on holiday and without exception I was always asked at least once if I knew [insert Princess of the moment here] xxx and many times 'I just lurve your accent'. The Americans we met as friends were well travelled, well educated and most definitely, 'well' spoken so I completely understand your post.
  20. Thank you. As one whose husband is considered 'vulnerable' and thus on the NHS list for antivirals should they become necessary, I am relieved to hear Cunard medical centre stock them but most of all, if the ships continued to follow your practices, we would feel even more comfortable than we do now. We live with this on a daily basis and will not spend the rest of the ongoing problem living as we did in '20 and much of '21 but there is a subtle difference between being ill at home and ill on a cruise ship and when we do catch this wretched virus, by choice we'd rather not get it on a cruise ship. So thank you for your consideration. We shall be following the same protocols with the added no excursions with others and probably, not much interaction with fellow passengers but what we will not do, is let this virus defeat us and we WILL get back to cruising on Cunard but with a healthy regard, for our health! 🙂
  21. Not noticed that facility but then, not really looked over all the years. Hopefully, the system as a whole will 'get there'.
  22. As long as the Bridge know where they are, I'll be a happy camper...or cruiser!😀
  23. Menbers of the mask wearers fraternity here too. Lissie and exlondoner, fair sailing and travelling,
  24. We were happy with the Diamond allowance so we're with you as internet charges will now be assigned to part of our obc which would previously been spent on other things. However, having bought CCL shares this afternoon at a most favourable rate [as long as Carnival survive the doom and gloom] the hit won't be quite so 'severe'! 😃
  25. Were they on racks [on the wooden 'poles'] or just on tables. Poles would be harder to 'borrow'.
