  1. We were aft over ten years ago just before QV went in for a pod repair. The vibration was so bad, we didn't need to visit the gym for a Power Plate session as we had our own in cabin experience. These things happen.
  2. I take it you agree with me then! 🙂
  3. I think to a certain extent, it depends on the sea state. We were aft twice this year. During a particularly lively sea on our second trip, I would have said ear plugs were a necessity to block the creaks and rattles and yet on our first trip in May/June, the calm seas meant not a single rattle or creak. OK, different decks but even so, a real difference.
  4. Or not sure if she'll be ready for action🙂 Only joking. Sort of!!
  5. They are supplied in QG so I presume it's the same for all cabins.
  6. Any theme is asking for fancy dress from some passengers so why not go retro on the Vistas and just call it a Black Tie Gala evening'? If Mary can have Black Tie [formal suit], then so can her sisters.
  7. The cabin allowance in QG is two bottles which are replaced when empty .although if you really get on with your butler [we do], the empty/ nearly empty can be almost not nearly empty.🙂 If we have a bit of a cabin do, then we pay for the extra bottles. Some folk bring bottles onboard for such an occasion but we can't be bothered and pay the chargeable price so the only charge for in cabin drinks in QG is if you order over and above the two bottle allowance. .
  8. It certainly is and I was up at five am on the balcony with my coffee, to watch, listen and yes, smell it all. The pine smell was fantastic.
  9. Easy peasy, I'm with SedNabokos , book through a cruise travel agent. They do all the work for you.
  10. Depends how deep the coffers are and if it would be worth it. My brain says probably not, on both counts.
  11. For info, this was QV's list last July. The selection slightly changes at times but this seems to be the core list. If something isn't on the list and you would prefer it, it's worth asking if it's available as this list does change periodically and between ships.
  12. Oh how I agree. Don't pronounce on the product until it's tried and if 'you' haven't tried it, don't criticise.
  13. The dining table for 6 is nice, but oversized, who dines with so many people in the suite? We dined for six a couple of times pre Covid. It is a lovely way to spend a couple of weeks but I agree about the layout. You can't take advantage of any views as you can in the aft 1s [especially the refitted QV1s] which is a shame and the powder room needs another loo!
  14. As I'm a seefood and eat it person apart from a slight sea food intolerance if I eat too much shellfish, I have no experience of dietary needs but I have friends who do and Cunard seem to be very good in this respect. You MUST inform the M'd as soon as you get onboard if you haven't already made a note of it in your booking.
  15. Apparently so. We don't bother as we buy onboard and we do have the benefit of the QG two bottle [ongoing throughout the cruise] allowance but many folk cart bottles and bottles onboard with them.
  16. I don't know about 'get away with' but I assume the dark trousers/pants are part of a dinner suit if he is wearing a dinner jacket. If the dark trousers aren't, I guess they would meet the dark suit requirement.
  17. The benefit is applicable on sailings through July 31, 2024 aboard the brands listed below. Certain restrictions apply. Applications to receive these benefits should be made at least three weeks prior to cruise departure date
  18. seafarer68, my favourite ship and welcome to Cunard. My husband wears a jacket every night, apart from Gala evenings when it's black tie but that is his preference. You might get conflicting advice [opinions] but the truth is, on non Gala nights, a dress shirt with smart trousers fits the advised bill. A jacket occasionally would make a nice change and many chaps do wear them but if the fuss outweighs the wearing, then don't bother. edit Yes, the Carnival share option gives obc on Cunard and I think it's inform between ninety days and three weeks prior to boarding.
  19. I think many of us will completely understand!
  20. As did we. We spent four weeks on QV this year. Wonderful holidays.
  21. If already bleached the stain might be 'set' so be aware of that.
  22. I have said this before, the dress advisories are for the ship and all four 'main' restaurants are part of the whole so there is no difference in dress standards between any of them. QG has no higher dress standards than Britannia. I have seen polo shirts worn in QG on non gala evenings and whilst I don't think they fit the advisories, the polo shirt wearer has not been denied entry to dinner. To say the wearer stood out like a sore thumb is probably overstating the issue, but it was noticeable. I will add, this was last year. No polos as far as I could see at dinner time in the restaurant this year.
