  1. In July you should be able to do a beach ride if you do it early in the morning. Like at 7:30 am. You will have to pre arrange a taxi to get to the stables that early. It has to be early during beach season before the beach goers arrive. In the winter they don’t have that limitation.
  2. Bermuda is not New Jersey. You won’t get ripped off. You will be charged what is on the meter which would be about $20. A few things you should know. Many taxis don’t take credit cards. They might refuse to take you if your clothes are wet. It might be difficult to get a taxi back from BDA Water Sports. Ask them to call for a taxi. I would take a taxi but public buses are an option.
  3. At home I have a smart thermostat that can be set at different temperatures for home, away and sleep. It has motion detectors. Energy savings are pretty good. They don’t do smart thermostats on any cruise ships that I know about. I don’t leave the widows open because it will run up my energy bills and strain the HVAC. Leaving the windows open will also let dust and pollen in.
  4. I have been on a few ships that have it. I don’t recall any Celebrity ships but I have not been on Edge class. I think the newest RC and NCL ships had them. Been on so many ships it blends together. Never had a problem keeping a cabin cool either. Usually too cold at the beginning. I think the cabin attendants like it that way.
  5. Any type of card works. As I mentioned I save hotel door cards for that purpose. Been doing it for years because hotel rooms in Europe commonly use the card in the slot. Another reason to have other cards is I would forget to take the sea pass card with me and be locked out LOL. Hope they never switch to what I have at home which is motion sensors.
  6. I have saved hotel door cards and keep a few in my carry bag.
  7. But dolphins are not domesticated animals like dogs. They are wild animals. Sure they do tricks since they want to get fed. Didn’t you notice the bars keeping them in ? Of course the trainers are going to say they care. A previous Dolphin program in Bermuda at Blue Hole Park was closed down because the Dolphins were mistreated. Many dolphins have died being captured. It is fun watching them. I have not swam with them but I am sure it is fun. Still it leaves a bad taste with me. They are wild animals not pets.
  8. I am sure it is a wonderful time for watchers and those who get in the water but for captive wild animals I doubt it. Also many dolphins have died being captured.
  9. Mike Watson at https://www.watsonsbermudahorsetrailrides.com I have not done it but he has a good reputation. There are regulations about riding on the beach. There are beach trails but there are certain times when on the beach itself is not allowed.
  10. You can not add an iPhone app to your watch and Celebrity has not made an Apple Watch app.
  11. That depends on your browser. I deleted the cookie in Safari and then had to log back in. Are you using Safari? I can’t tell you if you are using another browser.
  12. FYI. The requirements went into effect after booking and after final payment. Still I agree it is their ballgame and they can make their own requirements but in my opinion the requirement has no science behind it and seems totally subjective. That is probably why they won’t justify it. Because they can’t.
  13. I found an unedited version of Royal Caribbeans answer explaining it is their requirement because the sailing was nine days with no sea days. But no explanation of the logic.
  14. When you get to Bermuda. Can’t predict the weather but at that time of year the season is changing, the high in Bermuda could be 77 or it could be 72 give or take a couple of degrees. On the ocean to and from Bermuda at that time of year it may be brisk.
  15. FYI. What I find interesting is that Royal Caribbean is encouraging the Bermuda government to raise fares for cruisers. They talk about what they charge which I assume they mean for their transfers. Cruise passengers who don't know any better buy the upcharged transfers instead of tokens ans passes available right off the ship at the dock. Royal charges $70 roundtrip to Horseshoe Bay which would cost $9 roundtrip on the public bus or $14 roundtrip on the private shuttles. It is stunning that passengers will pay $70 when they could easily pay $14 or $9. Because of that we may end up paying more. Their government minister saysin the article: “I had a meeting with the Royal Caribbean line and they told me how much they actually charge to get on the bus and ferry – I was shocked [by] what they charge to get on what we charge. I was stunned. “And they asked me ‘why we aren’t you guys charging more?’. https://www.royalgazette.com/transport/news/article/20230310/furbert-higher-public-transport-fares-for-cruise-visitors-possible/
  16. I have done the buggy ride but unfortunately buggy rides have not been offered in Hamilton for years and the buggy ride in St. George has been recently discontinued.
  17. Do you want a rum tasting or see fishes? You have to decide which. The two videos might help. You can book the same excursion that Royal is selling at the Island Tour Centre. If you book through Royal or the Tour Centre you will be on the same excursion on the same boat. Royal is acting as a middleman . Booking with the Island Tour Centre is some times a little less expensive. https://www.islandtourcentre.com
  18. As several have posted the technology does not exist yet. The ship would probably only be able to go 50 miles.
  19. Yes, it is only when you take the public buses The taxis and minibus drop you almost right at the beach. There is a very short path from their drop off area. As for the cruise line excursions they seem to use the same minibuses in recent years as the private drivers, they just charge $70 rt for them instead of $14 rt so then they would drop off at the beach. If they used the pink buses I don't think they could not but I don't think they do use the buses.
  20. What I posted is basic electronics. Watts = Amps x Volts.
  21. The charger will cut the current in half and power will be the same. 220v won’t charge electronics any faster.
  22. Your charger and phone determine how fast your phones charge.
  23. How many watts do you think those USB ports output. The original USB was 5 watts. I would guess the ones installed on Oasis are 10 watts. My phone can fast charge at 27 watts so I use a 30 watt charger when I want to fast charge. I doubt if I will be using those USB ports to charge anything in the future. I will use the mains and a charger. I can all three outlets and with fast charging the devices I have charge fast. I was happy to have those ports a few years ago but time moves on.
