  1. For that itinerary, it is closed loop, an official birth certificate ( not a hospital certificate) and a Drivers License will be sufficient. (It does not have to be Real ID)
  2. I want clean ever day too. Since I am retiring from snorkeling 😀 I will carry as much as I can in a carry on. If I run out of clean clothes I will send out to the laundry service.
  3. A park pass is also required to drive into the park. The park pass is not required for the bus tours. Bar Harbor is a tender port. I don’t get going out of town to the airport renting a car and then returning the car to the airport and back to Bar Harbor. Seems like that would eat up a bunch of time. After the tour I had time for a lobster roll and blueberry pie and a bit of time looking in the shops. Since I took Oli’s Acadia tour on my first trip to Bar Harbor I appreciated the the tour because it was narrated by a local and we learned all kinds of stuff that I would not have if I had driven into the park on my own.
  4. Here is a screenshot from MarineTraffic a few minutes ago showing that what you say is true. Docked in St. George.
  5. Yes it is true. NCL runs a free ferry for NCL passengers to St. George’s from the Dockyard. They will give you schedule info onboard.
  6. There are minibus shuttles to Horseshoe Bay when you get off the ship that cost $7 pp each way. Or take a taxi for $32 each way. That is for the taxi not per person. Still cheaper than the NCL transfer. For your 5 and 8 year old who are new to snorkeling I recommend Tobacco Bay. Shallow with a reef, no surf, and very good for beginners. Take the free NCL ferry to St. George’s. Tobacco Bay is about a 20 minute walk or a $10 taxi ride.
  7. Starlink is a broadband provider. They don’t have their own network. If Musk wants a network he would have to license spectrum for that and be approved by regulatory authorities in every country. Also there are billions of cell phones. Why would people ditch their cell phones for satellite phones? To use on cruise ships? Could the satellites even have the capacity to replace the cell networks? It makes more sense for Musk to hook up with existing cell carriers.
  8. I booked on my own to Acadia. Oli's Trolley. Check for availability. There was also another company Acadia Tours. Very similar. No need to do it with Royal Caribbean. There is also a free shuttle but it may not run your date. https://olistrolley.com/tours/ https://www.acadiatours.com/acadia-national-park-tours-our-tour/
  9. I just got it five minutes ago. A mass email has to be sent in batches.
  10. Not any time soon like you describe. There has to be a network that could handle everyone. And there has to be a network that routes calls. What is coming sooner is that the satellites will be “cell towers” and the network will be your carrier’s network. The carrier will work with the satellite providers. Current phones will work. Initially it will probably only work for text.
  11. There does not any need to be any contention. If we want the bags on the ship there are only two choices. Leave them with the longshoreman or take them on ourselves. The technical details of what happens after handing them to the longshoreman do not matter. Whether to leave a tip or not to the longshoreman or not is a personal decision but we all know there can be direct intimidation or indirect, a concern our bags won't be loaded if we don't tip..
  12. It is not really worth discussion or important, There are two choices, hand the bags over to the longshoreman or carry the bag on yourself.
  13. When you put down a deposit there are a bunch of third party insurers who will waive pre existing conditions if you buy the policy 2 or 3 weeks after putting down the deposit. There are also cancel for any reason policies.
  14. If OP books the cruise now it is too early to check flights on most airlines. The two I usually for FLL from here, for American opens bookings 331 days out and Southwest will be even closer to the sailing date.
  15. What I actually said was correct. You apparently are one of those types who can’t admit when they are wrong.
  16. I am in Fort Worth and rarely encounter pollution. Usually it is bright sunshine. I have to wear the darkest legally allowed sunglasses to drive. Of course there can be overcast days like today but they are the exception. In the 2017 I lived in the DC area and we lucked out. It was no clouds and spectacular. I think DFW has the best odds. Many more sunshine days than we had in DC. Next North America total eclipse will be 2045 so there may be a lot coming to DFW to see it. Luckily I won’t have to go anywhere.
  17. They don't sell iPhones because phones can't be activated with a cell carrier when at sea.
  18. They have not had bonfires since 2019 under the previous owners. They are under new owners. The new owners has not done much but raise the price of admission to $15 and raise the price of chair and umbrella rentals. Last year was really their first year because of Covid so perhaps they will add evening events this year.
  19. Possibly I did not give him enough of a chance. I will take another look. I will check out Emma and Rich and Helen.
  20. Galapagos Itineraries Australia New Zealand Itineraries Transatlantic/Transpacific Crossings Select Caribbean Itineraries (those visiting Turks & Caicos) Select Central and South America Itineraries (those visiting Colombia, Brazil, and Chile)
  21. I find Don to be really annoying and uses click bait titles. La Lido is not as annoying but is not far behind. Gary Bembridge is pretty much the only cruise blogger that I can stand.
  22. There was another poster who seems to have disappeared who said the same thing about evidence. Since then there have been multiple reports from the same sailing confirming. For some reason that poster has disappeared. Maybe because of the confirming reports. All the evidence needed has been provided. I am convinced it happened. When multiple posters confirm I don’t think anyone is biased.
  23. Or some of those popular YouTube bloggers report it on their site. Don and Loco Loco. Maybe they already have. I have their channels blocked.
