  1. Before the garage cars would soemtimes get painted from painting nearby when parked in the open. They paid to remove the paint and did a good job of it.
  2. No one has ever asked for my vaccination card and no place I go now requires a mask. I have not worn a mask since May. If the situation changes I will change but I am not stuck in the last war. I don’t think carrying a card and mask that no one cares about anymore is being prepared.
  3. I think this board or more specifically this thread could be confusing because many are acting like ports are requiring vaccination. They think they have to carry a paper vaccination card in their wallet. But I would suggest checking all requirements, not just vaccination requirements, check documents requirements too. The cruise lines leave that up to us.
  4. You don't know how to do an internet search? Currently you don't need to be vaccinated to visit any of those ports.
  5. I am wired with ethernet putt in the walls by the developer, done about 2010, and get 940 wired and 560 wireless. I must have better mesh routers than you. I bought them a year ago when I moved here. They are WiFi 6. If you upgrade you proably will get better speed. I think the wired speed depends more on my provider than my cables. I have fiber service.
  6. It was the Millenium Class I had in mind as not having an upgraded backend. Solstice Class had a better backend so it will be interesting to see how Starlink does on those two classes of ship, Millennium Class and Solstice Class. I was getting 4 MBPS without Starlink on Reflection so Starlink on Edge does not seem like an improvement. When I had 4G cell service I was getting 15 to 20 MBPS. Hard to imagine 4 MBPS at home. Your service is poor. That sounds like 3G speeds. I have 5G cell now, about the slowest 5G service not nhe plus, and I get 40-50 MBPS. Starlink has a long way to go.
  7. Must be a California thing 😀 In any case I have my verified digital record in my Apple Wallet. No medical provider has ever asked to see my vaccination card. Some have asked my status but they simply wrote it down. I had physical therapy for several months in early 2021 before there were vaccinations and they took my temperature. I had to wear a mask.
  8. I am not limiting to Labadee either. Some say to always carry it on person and others say leave it locked up. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, but most travel books and websites say to keep it locked up when not in use I have been to many ports and I have traveled extensively by land. I have traveled solo to Mexico, Central America Europe, etc. I have taken the same buses, trains, subways that local people take even in poor countries. I always leave my passport locked in a hotel safe if I don't need you use it iif there is a safe except in Russia where you are required to have it on person. Never happened to me but I have traveled with people who had their passport stolen, it was stolen because they were carrying it. If they had left it at the hotel like I had it would not have been stolen.(pickpockets are expert at it in Europe.) It was stressful but they were not stuck. They got an emergency passport.
  9. It does not always require an interview. I renewed about a year and a half ago and I did not have to interview . I don't know how they decide. They sent the card relatively fast. My guess is my next renewal will require an interview.
  10. People should have a passport. I would never tell them not to. I never take it out of my cabin safe and to be sure I don’t take it ashore at Labadee. But to each their own decision on that. I do trust Royal at Labadee as it is a private enclave. I have been there about ten times. I have been on over 70 sailings and recognize most of your blah, blah, blah fears are nonsense.
  11. The cruise line has a port agent whose job is to help passengers. They will contact the embassy. Whether you have a passport or not you will need assistance. Passengers have been evacuated at Labadee. There is an airport at Cap Haiten.
  12. Geostationary satelites orbit at the equator. So the farther north the coverage gets worse We sailed to the North Cape which is far north as you can go. There are also mountains. You need a line of sight to aim the antenna at the satelite. I also read about the poor servicein advance on Cruise Critic. Starlink is putting up thousands of low orbit satelites in different orbits. I expect Starlink to get better. Expectations may be too high now. Time will tell about the future. You can have the satelite coverage but you also have to have the bandwidth. So the backend is important.
  13. You never know the future but they are not going to spring it on me as a surprise requirement. If the cruise line tells me I need the paper card I would bring it.
  14. I knew there was going to be poor service in the Norwegian Fjords as it is very north for the satellites they were usings coverage, geostatioary satellites, and the geography, there was no alternative then. They also warned us in the Celebrity Today. It wqs unuasable at times but I did not complain as we were expecting that.
  15. I always go to the iLounge first if there is a problem.
  16. Where I was vaccinated would be 1200 miles away for me to try and get a replacement paper card.
  17. Yes. I don’t expect it to be perfect but if there are major issues I go to guest services. I don’t just accept it.
  18. I didn’t have any vaccinations or boosters at Walgreens. My vaccinations were not at a pharmacy. They were done 1200 miles from where I live now and no way to get a replacement paper card. Lot of people used mass vaccination locations. I did my boosters at pharmacies, two different ones near where I live now, neither a Walgreens. All the locations did enter the vaccinations into Commonhealth so I have verified digital records. No reason to have a fetish on the CDC printed cards. Considering the general tech level many probably only have the paper cards and don’t have a clue how to get the digital records so they think they must have the paper card.
  19. Only you should have to pay since you seem to be willing to accept and pay for any crap that the cruise lines shovel at you. When I have had crappy internet onboard I have negotiated the charges down or removed.
  20. I thought everyone negotiated with car dealers. At least before covid anyway. I made them remove stuff I did not want. It had a roof rack for example. A few other things they had added I did not need. They knocked the price of that stuff off. They didn't actually remove them as they wanted to move the car on their lot but they took the invoice price off for those options. I sure did not pay sticker price.
  21. You will be docked in the center of Hamilton and since St. George is small everything ithere is pretty close to the dock. I have done your Hamilton/ St. George's Itinerary a bunch of times and prefer it to the Royal Naval Dockyard that the large ships have to do do. George's is the quaint village. Hamilton is a busness center but it has some historical stuff like Fort Hamilton. Bermuda has beautiful beaches on the South Shore. I don't know if Southern Shores has something to do with that. Do you like to snorkel? If so the catamaran snorkel would be good. I would skip the glass bottom boat. Those are usually disappointing. Sunset sails seem to get good reviews. A lot of information can be found on the Bermuda Tourism website. https://www.gotobermuda.com
  22. I don't expect to pay high prices for trash. I don't know if it is trash as I have not experienced the Starlink service but the old service was overpriced for what we got. Since they have a monopoly on the service if we want internet we have to pay. Compare that $35 a day service to the 1 gigabyte service I get at home which costs me $49 a month. or my mobile service which is unlimited 5G speeds which is under $100 a month. And as I mentioned they have charged $80 a week on RCCL versus $240 on Celebrity.
  23. Well they try to charge everyone with their all inclusive pricing. I always try to find a way to book without all inclusive pricing because I don't drink much, (average beverage bill $40) .
  24. Before I give my opinion are those excursions included or do you have to pay extra? Bermuda is a great do it yourself destination but since Regent is a very premium line perhaps excursions are included?. How long will you be in Bermuda 2 or 3 days? and which port is the ship calling at.Royal Dockyard? Hamilton and or St. George? I would guess since you are on Regent you will dock at both Hamilton and St.George's.
  25. Celebrity was charging about $35 a day for premium internet before Starlink. Are they charging more than that for Starlink?
