  1. If you intend to share without using headphones here is a selection from Royal Caribbeans code of conduct. Noise nuisance covers a wide range. "Boom boxes, loud radios, or other noise nuisance(s) are not permitted."
  2. It does not matter if you don't plan to get off the ship. You will be in Bermuda waters and have to do the TA, pay the $40 and have a negative test. They check for all of it at embarkation.
  3. They sell beer and wine at the CVS a few blocks away. There was also liquor store in the same strip but I don't know if they are still there.
  4. Good call. Royal would be putting you in the same type minibus that is charging $7. They contract with the drivers, pay them the $7 each way and charge you $39. The only reason to use the cruise line transfer is if you have OBC you need to use up.
  5. I love my noise canceling headphones. (AirPod Pros). I would never listen to good music when not at home without them.
  6. I have left the batteries in. They are supposed to last about a year. I have had my AirTags one year and three months and no low power warning yet. That said I plan to buy a pack of 4 batteries at Target next week and replace the batteries as I don't want to be caught short. A 4 pack should run about $8. I don't only use them for luggage. I have one on my key ring and one in my wallet. (wont fit in all wallets but I use a zipper wallet that I keep in my front pocket) By the way batteries go bad even if you leave them out. My mother had hearing aid batteries and being OCD she bought a huge supply. By the time she used half of them the unused batteries had gone bad.
  7. They work fine inside, they are allowed inside and inside is the best place. Luggage is often mishandled at airports and outside tags sometimes get torn off. Also don’t want a thief to steal the AirTag. My luggage happens to have some small pockets inside so I drop the AirTag in one of those.
  8. I am in DFW and my primary doctor and a hand specialist required me to wear masks. That was 4 and 2 months ago. Same with ophthalmologist 4 months ago. Dentist did not 7 months and 1 month ago. So I guess the doctors practices who decide. I don’t mind one way or the other. Masks don’t bother me. I only wear them though if asked.
  9. I don't gamble. If took one of the offers are they going to pressure me to use the casino when onboard? I don't really understand why i get the email.I guess they gave me some free slot pulls as a loyalty perk and i used them. Maybe? I get them often and have been ignoring them.
  10. Bermuda still requires a negative covid test. So as it stands today you would have to get tested. October is a couple of months away so it is possible that Bermuda could make changes before October.
  11. I was going to the symphony here at Bass Hall when masks were required. I did not care. They are no longer required so I don't wear them. I skipped Andrea Bocelli in October. I could have tickets but I was advised not to go by some musicians I know who played at the concert not to go. Not because of the crowd.............
  12. From what I can tell all who booked Coco Reef have had it canceled. Is the food included at Clearwater? I have gone to Clearwater do it myself and it was $5 each way on the ferry ( you are on NCL so would pay zero) and $20 each way for a taxi. Chairs were $10 each. An umbrella was $10. I believe the NCL excursion is $145 PP. We spent $75 pp. (shared one umbrella)
  13. I could not avoid crowds on a cruise but I don't avoid crowds now at home. Since being vacinated I have been going to symphony and pop concerts. Chamber music last Sunday. I have been going to restaurants. Been to the ballpark and going again Wednesday when the Orioles come to to town. I only have so many years left and I am not going to imprison myself.
  14. There are and always be a bunch of different opinions. Some based on reading science, some based on politics some based on gut feeling. I will do what I think is best, Others can do what they think is best.
  15. I got the email and I have never gambled on a cruise.
  16. I have seen the card rooms full of Majong players. I could tell many asian players were gambling but they were not obvious about it. There as no money on the table.
  17. That is your loss. Bermuda is an island paradise and hope to go amy more times. The island does have quirky politics and culture but that is part of the charm.
  18. Smallpox vaccine does not last forever but it should provide some immunity. I remember getting vaccinated and getting a booster. And people complain about covid vaccine side effects, nothing compared to the smallpox vax they had then. I will get a second Covid booster when the new formulation comes out this fall. I have been witing for that. Saw no reason to get another dose of the same old same old.
  19. I was never in that category on Summit. The highest I did was balcony. The cabin looks awful in those photos. Those stools look like trash.
  20. The 29 cases are a big drop. They have had over 100 at times. Their number of deaths has dropped too. They will say that is because their policies are successful. Don't get me wrong, I don't like their requirements but they make sense to them and we can argue about it all the time but because of thier history with colonialism they can and will be stubborn. Also unlike some destinations while a part of their economy is tourism and they want tourists it is only part of their economy. Banking and financial services are 85% of their economy.
  21. The $40 does not bother me. What bothers me is that they don't need the Travel Authorization process. The cruise line can verify vaccination status and the negative test at embarkation.
  22. The reason they believe they need their policy is because they are small. The have one small hospital and a small medical community. They don't have a large back up medical infrastructure.
  23. There are categories for fancy people but I don't consider Concierge to be a cat for fancy people or fancy. It is more of an upsell cat that gets the cruise line some additional revenue. I never booked one but considered it on a couple of sailings based on price and location. One time the price was less than my regular balcony but I did not like the location. Aqua class not fancy either, some like the spa thing and Blu. Once I was offered an upgrade to Aqua for $400 but the friends we were cruising with were not so we didn't take it. So I don't know if Blu is worth it or not..
  24. The cruise lines have discussions with Bermuda all the time and I would guess they do put pressure on the government of Bermuda. Since the current government there has only very limited opposition right now that may not have much effect. As for full ships it seems the Bermuda sailings have been full to the capacity the cruise lines have been selling this season. Trip reports indicate the beaches and other attractions there are crowded.
