Celebrity does not operate on that model. They don't require jackets. They say dress comfortably. I suggest that those who want that model book the cruise line that has that model. It is not Celebrity's busness model. Stop saying that Celebrity is something it isn't. How successful is that model if you only have a fleet of four ships? Most people who cruise don't want that model.

It is a vacation not an authoritarian regime. Your dress rules on Celebrity are in your own mind.

That was the dress code suggestion on Celebrity about 20 to 25 years ago. There were discussions back then on cruise forums by people who were scandalized when some passengers changed out of formal attire after dinner. That was supposed to be a big no-no. Then passengers just did it until that suggestion disappeared. That is what happened to formal attire. The cruise line can’t and won’t enforce a dress code that passengers don’t want. A cruise is not a prison. Cruise lines want the majority of customers happy. They don’t care if a few old timers who have been cruising for 60 years and are living in the past are unhappy. They will be gone as customers soon anyway.

That is business casual wear in Bermuda. It is not formal wear in Bermuda. Formal wear in Bermuda is a tuxedo.

Things will change in nine months. None can tell you what Bermuda's policy will be then. Bermuda does not even know yet. As of October 25 none has to be vaccinated but unvacinated have to show proof of insurance. They have made no decision on the fee. They are ending their emergency on November 30. While there has been speculation that the fee will continue until March 2023 even that is in doubt as their health minister has said they can terminate the fee at any time.

I never had any issue with Safari and the Celebrity website. Are you using an ad blocker? I have had to turn mine off for some websites.

Princess has standby and I get standby mailings but I would call what they have as last last minute deals not a standby list like the airlines. Not on Royal but in Celebrity I have booked as close to 8 days out and got a great deal but was never on any list.

There are only supposed to be 2 even on longer cruises according to Celebrity but my experience has been that there were 3 on 10 to 14 day cruises.

Yes, it tells you what you would be comfortable wearing and Royal has formal nights. But as we know they are requests. Times change and what the cruising public wants to wear and does wear has changed. Culture does not stand still. Perhaps someday in the furure people will want to dress up again. A busness has to adapt to keep busness and the cruise lines have done so.

There is no dress code only dress request. Things have changed in 60 years. but the dress you observed on Royal has been like that about for ten years maybe more. Dress has changed on Celebrity too as formal night has morphed into a more casual Evening Chic night.

The Celebrity app is a phone app. Celebrity could make it be both a phone and tablet app but they have not.

Grand Cayman is often canceled but the operator I used there for Stingrays a few times never charged our card unless we actually arrived at their office and gave them the physical card.They know the ships often miss that port and don't want to dscourage bookings. St. Lucia tour operator took our card number but did not charge us when the ship canceled do to dock work. All they asked was to be notified. Bonaire snorkel excusion two of our family got sick and only I could go they did not charge them. I read the fine print and never had an issue.

I booked an independent excursion in St. Petersburg and if the port was canceled it would have been no problem. They did not collect the fee until the end. I always book independently and most had either a refund policy if the ship canceled or did not collect until the end. What is common in the Caribbean is that they take your credit card number but don't charge you until the excursion or they take your card to hold the excursioon but ask you to pay cash.

I am using NordVPN these days. I connect with their mobile app since I don’t do anything anymore where I need a Mac or PC when away from home. I can do pretty much everything on my iPad Pro and I have a keyboard for it. I had some inconsistency with PIA so I switched to Nord which seems to work fine. PIA by the way is owned by the company that bought Express VPN.

I do everything on autopay. And I get alerts on all my accounts of any activity. I don’t take a computer. The iPhone and iPad are more secure than a PC. A PC would be a weak link. But since everything is on autopay that was set up at home I have not needed to usually to access my accounts on the iPad.

If you are paranoid because of that bad experience go ahead and do a cruise line tour. Your piece of mind is more important than saving a few dollars.

I enjoyed the webinar too but the elephant in the room for me is that Celebrity does not cruise Glacier Bay. When I do a return cruise to Alaska it will be on Holland America again or Princess. Since Princess has sailings that do both Glacier Bay and Hubbard I am leaning to do Princess next time.

Since you sailing begins before October 25 I could see that might be a grey area. Does any of it make any sense? Why is October 25 the start date? Not much of it makes sense to me but it is what it is.

That is a good point. A nuclear powered ship would probably not be allowed in many ports. Maybe most ports. And would the US allow foreign flagged nuclear powered cruise ships in our ports?

What is your proof of that? One person has said they were disappointed and many more said the new service was great. The disappointed person may have been a one off.

They already have. The premium tier. And I would not call Celebrity's pricing for it cheap.

You have to do a seperate one for each traveler.
