  1. I think they meant Bermuda cruises. Likely the one day stop at the end of a TA won’t happen under current protocols.
  2. I almost always book with a third party. Less expensive and better. Never came close to missing the ship. That is just fear the cruise lines put out to get you to book with them.
  3. The minister is quoted as saying two days before departure in Bernews so that’s why I think it is a mistake. Plus it is not consistent with past policy and it would mean all passengers on every sailing would have to be tested onboard. Yes, it needs to be corrected.
  4. As i understand it as of September 5 you can sail from the UK, Europe and Los Angelos without being vaccinated.
  5. I think it is a typo. That they cut and pasted from air arrivals. In the article in Bernews it says 2 days before departing port. https://bernews.com/2022/08/unvaccinated-travelers-allowed-island/
  6. I believe that is a copy and paste error from air arrivals. In the article in Bernews below they say 2 day before departing port. https://bernews.com/2022/08/unvaccinated-travelers-allowed-island/
  7. In the article it says two days before departing port so I think it is an oversight copied and pasted from air arrivals.
  8. The insurance change is they are allowing unvacinated passengers. Only unvacinated passengers have to purchase insurance. You are missing the problematic change which I hope is a typo.
  9. As of August 22 Bermuda is allowing unvaccinated travelers. Testing and Travel Authorization still required. https://bernews.com/2022/08/unvaccinated-travelers-allowed-island/
  10. Unvaccinated allowed but testing and TA still required. Probably not the changes most people have been hoping for…….. https://bernews.com/2022/08/unvaccinated-travelers-allowed-island/
  11. The pricing is high likely because they want to limit the amount of day passes. They need to take care of their resort guests. Recent reports have been that most of the summer reservations this year have been canceled at the last minute do to lack of staff.
  12. I thought this thread was about Bermuda. But again Carnival did not drop it for Bermuda and Canada. Pretty likely that Royal and Carnival will have the same testing requirements shortly. I read this morning that St. Kitts was eliminating their requirements. That is a big deal for Royal as it is one of their ports that can take Oasis Class ships.
  13. RCI is not responsible for the $40 fee. It is a Bermuda government fee. I don't see how Carnival would be more atractive. If you were cruising to Bermuda on Carnival, Carnival does have a lot of sailings to Bermuda, you would have to pay the same $40 fee.
  14. That is likely. Batteries die over time even if unused.and ear bud batteries can't be replaced.
  15. I can read on my iPad outside with some shade. We have cabanas at our condo pool and that was okay but because I would like to read sometimes in the pool or the spa pool I bought a waterproof Kobo e-ink reader. Much better in sunlight than the iPad. I also prefer it over a Kindle s because it is not Amazon's proprietary book format and because it has Overdrive. I can borrow books from the library directly on it.
  16. More info in today’s Royal Gazette. The work will be completed in five weeks. https://www.royalgazette.com/transport/news/article/20220817/st-georges-mps-split-with-government-over-ferry-cancellation/
  17. I buy pros too but but most people don't. They are overkill for most people. For people who want more than the base model the iPad Air is $599.
  18. Most iPads cost less than $800. A lot less. Only the pro models are in that range and most people don't need or buy a pro version. The pro models are pretty much for artists. You can get a pretty good iPad for $329. I bought iPad miinis about 5 years ago for $300.
  19. What do you mean you try not to book a cruise that stops in Bermuda? It is not hard book a cruise that does not stop in Bermuda. I have done about 70 cruises and only 15 stopped at Bermuda LOL The beaches in Bermuda are way more beautiful than the beach at Bethany Beach. Been to Bethany and Rehobeth a few times. The people are nicer too in Bermuda. I would rather vacation in Bermuda than Bethany Beach.
  20. Well I see you are in Texas. When I moved here a year ago I had to get a Texas DL within 90 days. The earliest appointment i could get was two and a half months after I moved here at about 75 days. There was no line though. That was nice. I did have to spend 15 minutes while they went through a list and asked me if i wanted to donate a dollar for this or that fund.
  21. They can often be bought for less than Apple.com. Amazon and Best Buy put them on sale quite often. Costco usually has something off the the list. As someone mentioned there is no sales tax onboard still the sale prices at Amazon and Best Buy will probaly save more. It likely would be a saving for Europeans who have VAT taxes at home. I have bought a couple with OBC for family members when i had over $1000 in OBC but I only bought the cheapest $300 iPads.
  22. I bought my first iPad in 2010 when it came out. Bought an Ipad 3rd generation, Then an iPad Pro 9.7 and latest an IPad Pro 11 inch 2018. Also iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 and iPad mini 6. I repurposed the old ones to family members when I upgraded to a newer one. They are all still working except the iPad mini 3 which got lost when my BIL left it on his car hood and it fell off when he drove off with it on the hood. We did buy a couple of iPad minis onboard with OBC for family. None of them have died. Carried an iPad on every cruise since 2010 and never had one stolen.
  23. The prices are the same as the price Apple sells them at their store or online . The odds of someone grabbing your iPad or it dying half way through are pretty low.
