  1. yes, I've been trying to buy another CN to add to my January sailing, but can't find any on the site that sells them at cost. I'll break down and buy one from ebay this weekend if all else fails. I'll pay more than cost, but will still save a little $$$
  2. Hello. Anyone know if the casino is open while docked at Ocean Cay. I'm going to be there three days on my cruise, including an overnight. Also, are you allowed to carry drinks (alcoholic) off the ship there?
  3. I've never stayed on the Haven, but also never have a problem going to my room and dropping off my luggage. I used to drop it off in the storage area (casino, Asian restaurant) until I discovered I can just take it to my room. I just sit it in the closet to make sure it's not in the way. I just have to remember to take out a cigar, my cutter, and matches so I can have a smoke after getting lunch
  4. wow. you've never seen the flier? that's surprising. Of my 8 cruises, I would say I've received the flyer on at least half of them. I prefer the bigger ships, so the chances are higher given more people and luggage
  5. yes, they just became available in January.
  6. As a jade player, I lost free drinks. it sucks, but I'm not ready to write off NCL because of it. That being said, I am give MSC and Carnival a try on my next two cruises. All of my previous 8 cruises have been with NCL. Maybe I'll be impressed enough to make the switch permanent, maybe not. Especially with MSC since they don't even charge port fees and taxes for their comp cruise. And it doesn't look like anyone else charges the mysterious admin fee. I do have a NCL cruise booked for next year and I just went ahead and added the drink package. I had never paid $500 for a NCL cruise before (including service charges). Now it will be $150 - $200 more. Still a great deal
  7. they have solo cabins on all the ships, including the ones with studio cabins
  8. I'm hoping this is the case. although I like to arrive at the port around Noon and I'm also platinum, so I should find a nice short check in line either way. I've just become used to the CAS line being totally empty when I show up
  9. just booked my next cruise. This will be the first time I'll pay more than $500 for a cruise since I'm now taking the FAS drink package. ahhhh, first world problems 🤣
  10. what do you mean? No, I end up with $100 refundable OBC rather than $100 non-refundable. I actually don't go on any of the excursions
  11. A question I have is will I still be able to use the CAS check-in line? I'm not pearl, never been anything other than Jade, which doesn't exist anymore. I'd be interested in reading about everyone's experiences now that the changes have been implemented. My next NCL cruise is not until next January.
  12. on my last few cruises, I've done this to "launder :)" my OBC and cashed out the $100 at the end of the cruise. I've been lucky to have enough excursions $50 and below for this to work
  13. but it's still allowed on the Getaway. It was the Joy that smoking at Spice was removed
  14. and don't be like this dummy and forget to set you clock back one hour thereby showing up one hour late for the behind the scenes tour 🤣
  15. if you're into Scotch, the Macallan flight is $45. It's three shots of Macallan (Lumina, Terra, and Enigma)
  16. I'm not 100% sure about this situation because the discounts are with two different people. If you were the veteran and had the CAS discount, they would definitely stack
  17. make sure you keep this. It's now a collector's item 🙂
  18. LOL. It would have actually been easier for you to just move on to the next post. sorry I actually came here for any help. Have a good day
  19. Hello. anyone know if sister ships are pretty much identical, as far as room locations? My last cruise was on the getaway, and I stayed in room 5155. the location of that room was great. I'm planning my next cruise on the breakaway and I see that room 5155 is available. I was wondering if I could expect the room to be in the same location as it is on the getaway. thanks
  20. Good to hear from a fellow NCL transplant, as the set dining is my biggest concern as I plan my first MSC cruise. Not so much that I'm willing to pay for the experience with anytime dining though. I've prepared myself to eat all my meals in the buffet if I'm not too thrilled with the set dining
  21. I probably can't party with the kids anymore 😞, but I'm not afraid of it either 😭. I was specifically looking for a short cruise for Thanksgiving, and carnival fit. So it's a good way to give them a test run. I was also looking to do a longer one out of Baltimore, which is local to me, but I'll have to see how things go after the bridge collapse
  22. And here is one of the drivers getting me to venture out..... NCL has gotten rid of the free drinks in the casino. Carnival MSC does. My next two cruises are on MSC and carnival
