  1. That has changed. Perhaps the staff are a little more stretched these days and as you say there are a number in quarantine.
  2. Now you may know about first degree burns but that pizza looks burnt to me 😀
  3. And they get to finish early as they start early and have no other duties like waiting staff do. It's one of the best jobs on the ship.
  4. Yes I have said that and would stay on the ship as I often do in ports. A passport is a very important document. I travel a lot and wouldn't want to be without it.
  5. I can still see that the pizza is burnt despite the basil leaves.😁
  6. If I was one of the unfortunate guests that were robbed I would think that I might want some questions answered by Seabourn as to why passports were required ashore clearly against the advice of my Government.
  7. I also did Sojourn Cape Town 2014. We didn't take our passports ashore.
  8. Perhaps the Purser could be shown the instructions and recommendations from the UK Foreign Office website for British travellers. After yesterday's incident the Purser might not be so hot on the idea of passport carrying ashore. Head office might have another plan for the Purser to implement. 🙄
  9. Oh dear, Plenty of rest and fresh air. Water no alcohol 🙂
  10. I think there were a couple of copies of "What's on" on the loungers. SS entertainment has been the worst of any luxury line. The buck stops with head office and the entertainment/Cruise director booker. It's not as if RCCL doesn't have any money. Much better entertainment is had on any Royal Caribbean mega ship
  11. Yes,this is the correct procedure. Immigration is mostly done on the ship but can be done in a port building if the authorities don't want to or can't be bothered to come aboard. In this situation I would have to go and get my passport looked at and verified at the port building but I would want to get back on the ship and put my passport in the safe or give it to the pursers office. I would then take a paper copy of my passport ashore if I could get past security/Immigration without too much hassle. I had dinner with Handre on Saturday evening before he ran the London Marathon. He flew out to Cape Town on Monday evening to attend a Seabourn event. I bet he's devastated.
  12. Kava is an interesting herb,it is used to help cure insomnia and anxiety. Cava on the other hand is a cheap Spanish fizz that takes the enamel off your teeth.😁
  13. I would just show the image of my passport on my phone as I have done for a few years now. All of the information that anyone would need for immigration purposes is there to see when going ashore. The cruise card has always got me off and on again. I really can't see who benefits apart from the criminals.
  14. This rule is useful to criminals. It is never a good idea to carry your passport ashore. I never do and have an image of it on my phone which has been accepted by anyone that need my passport details ie when buying things to get tax free. The cruise card should be enough to get you on and off the ship and not worry about walking around town or on a ships guided tour. If I came across the situation that required me to take my passport off the ship,I wouldn't go. Hope everyone is OK after this dreadful ordeal
  15. Earth and Ocean It's been a great success
  16. If you don't like the taste you can use them as insoles. Very comfy apparently.
