  1. Be prepared to lose them. We have had many things taken including wooden letter openers. The scanners at the pier are very careful about what they scan
  2. Each cruise is different. If you are on back to back Alaska cruises out of Vancouver you actually go through US customs before boarding so you don’t even need to leave the ship at all just tap off tap on in a lounge
  3. We always have the plus package since we like some drinks Since we do go to bars we are generally around drinkers who also have packages. If you look at folks who just sit around the piazza with water glasses listening to music and watching games there are probably a lot less packages
  4. We always cruise in aft suites but that is just our preference. We don’t suffer sea sickness at all and love the balcony views
  5. On the Crown lunch was 12:00 to 1:30. Reserve class was in midship deck 6 but all others were in aft deck 6 dining room. This was the same for all breakfast and lunch meals
  6. We stayed at the Pan Pacific last month. Called bell desk in the morning they came up to get our 3 bags, $20 tip and they were in our stateroom by 1:00. Just went to the convention area checked in, did customs and got in ship no need to even go outside
  7. Just off the Crown ate in speciality restaurants 4 times in 20 days no problem. The restaurants were never full. We drink so we take the plus package but if you don’t drink much the packages really aren’t necessary
  8. Yes you may need to wait especially if you like to eat early. Just off the Crown and there were people lining up for dinner well before 5. More tables looked to be available after 7:30 or 8
  9. We were able to share a charcuterie plate in Vines twice and have salty Dog dinners on our current cruise
  10. I have been there many times and during the day it is a great dive bar
  11. Should be no different than getting on board after drinking all day in port
  12. You were probably talking to the off shore Princess casino department. They are pretty much clueless. Best to get the free cabin pay the $200 deposit and then get a CVP to get things straightened out
  13. By keeping Reserve and regular dining to different dining rooms for lunch it keeps the staff in Reserve from dealing with diners who cant get into regular lunch but see empty tables in Reserve and try to talk their way in especially on embarkation day
  14. But for breakfast and lunch non reserve class all dining on the Crown is in the aft dining room on 6
  15. I have seen it at every meal. Some just walking in and trying to sit down. Others want to argue that since there are open tables they should be entitled to them
  16. For our plan it is considered out of area care
  17. Same here. PNW Kaiser Medicare Advantage plan
  18. By moving non reserve diners to a different dining room for breakfast and lunch it keeps those who don’t want to wait for tables from trying to force their way into reserve. And only the reserve area is used
  19. The info on the Crown is totally out of date Captain is Lembo and the rest are old also
  20. My understanding is that if the 2nd passenger is a minor they get t he non alcoholic package
  21. No if one gets the plus package the 2nd must as well. If you only want the beverage package then yes but that costs more than plus and does not come with Wi-Fi and gratuities
  22. In the old days offering the sommelier or head waiter a taste would get the corkage ignored
  23. The Discovery used that as a jazz bar and it was fabulous
  24. Around noon. So many local cruisers with cars pulling up to the curb every minute
