  1. The card you get from either guest services or the concierge desk states that the luggage service is a gratuity based service
  2. On a last minute cancellation you may be out $10,000 +. No one really wants to risk that
  3. The only time I get free drinks in the casino on Princess cruises is during VIP cruises otherwise it is either pay or have a package. NCL is not alone in this
  4. When we were young we thought we were invincible and didn’t take any insurance. We just got reimbursed for medical stuff after we got home. Now that we are older we take the insurance
  5. I believe it depends on how many ships are in. Last October there were 2 ships boarding and they used 2 upstairs conference rooms and had kiosks. This month we were the only ship and it was downstairs. We actually had to ask at guest services at the hotel to find out
  6. When we checked in to the hotel. This was a quote from guest services
  7. With one ship in port earlier this month check in was downstairs and there were no customs kiosks you saw an actual officer. We checked in just before 2 I believe and total check in time was about 15 minutes
  8. We are still getting free play around $250-$400 and free cabins but that is less than we were getting a year ago
  9. I fail to see what any of this post has to do with an 18 year old. I do believe the can go to all the lounges for music and hang out with other young people. There are always some people in her age range
  10. Now that Canadians can have medallions shipped the blue land should be much shorter
  11. Why can’t she smoke cigarettes ? I have never seen anyone carded for smoking. She cant buy alcohol but if you have some in your cabin it would be up to you if she drinks it or not
  12. It depends on the time of year. If you are traveling during the Alaskan season it will be very high. April not so bad
  13. We usually give a $20 tip. They will tell you to tip st least $3-$5 per bag
  14. We just boarded in Vancouver about 10 days ago. We had a meal on shore and went to check in around 2:00. Very short line check in and customs took no more than 30 minutes. We have found that boarding later avoids all the crazy crowds who just have to be the first group on board
  15. That may be the case now but when we started cruising in the 1990’s there was no option. Everything was TD and there were no 2 tops for dinner. You chose the size of table and early or late sitting. If I remember right the choice was 6 or 8 tables
  16. I live in Portland Oregon and I have not owned a tie since I retired. Most of the weddings here are casual affairs after outside in Nature
  17. No that is the one and only ship I avoid if at all possible
  18. My dress does not change during formal night. Nice pants and button down shirt. I am done with carrying around a sports coat and I do not own a tie anymore
  19. Different things on different ships. Las 2 on the crown no tokens needed to wash dry just for product. Now on the Ruby and tokens needed for everything
  20. You can buy a package within 10 minutes of boarding and it will be billed to your cruise account
  21. You can buy it when you board it will be charged to your cruise account and any OBC you have will be used and any amount not covered will be on your cruise account
  22. How is that so much worse than board shorts with flip flops and ball cap
  23. New SF hips as Keats have production issues. This could have been predicted long ago. Never ever book the first few months of a new ship due to delays and shake down issues once sailing
  24. I would just see the restaurant manager pre first dinner and explain your situation
  25. When they moved the ships from strictly Asian markets to more North American markets they changed the menu at Harmony and it is a lot less ambitious then it was in Asia. It is more like Americanized than authentic
