  1. It’s not the ones who don’t want to tip extra that is perfectly alright. It is the people who pull the CA because they claim not to believe in tipping who bug me
  2. I don’t get the $90 figure Please explain
  3. This still easy as long as you like to eat after 7:30 or 8:00. We booked a table for Crown today for Monday 7:30 on the Grand. There were other people who were upset because there was nothing earlier than that any day
  4. You will have your choice if you are in a full suite. Sabatini’s is not as crowded and personal service to die for
  5. I wouldn’t wear a lanyard on general principles and if any health questions for sure not
  6. And my favorite bartenders.
  7. If you only pay the CA you are tipping way way below 15.% for all your meals. And 15% is well below the norm in the states especially in LA
  8. I was referring to tipping whether through cash tips or CA. Wait folk on ship or on land in US do not get a large salary
  9. After the uproar after what was done to the Island I would be very surprised if the do that to the Coral
  10. A good portion of their income still comes from tips just like when I was a waiter
  11. If you ever had to make a living in the hospitality industry in the United States you might have a different attitude. Tippers in restaurants put me through college
  12. Thank goodness we never ever want to eat before 7:30 or 8:00. Sometimes you can shoot a cannon through those venues at that time
  13. On the Grand right now and just like our last 3 cruises the manager for Sabatini’s Suite Breakfast is also in Crown Grill at night. When we want to book a specialty dinner we just see them while we are having breakfast. Never been an issue
  14. There are always slots to book while you are on board but they are most likely to be after 7:30. We have never b poked before any of our cruises and always gotten tables. Yes we never eat before 7:30 even at home
  15. If people could sneak people in to Reserve I would be having a word with the captain
  16. You don’t even need a SEM We always book specialty dinners with the Sabatini’s who is usually in charge of Crown Grill as well
  17. The can’t do miracles like this. If they could the Reserve Dining would have a wait and a lot of upset people. Why do I pay for a suite if anyone can bring folks in
  18. The OP stated they were not close enough to share a suite. We sail in suites and tell friends if they want to have dinner with us the must book Reserve Dining
  19. There. Is zero chance. Both Reserve Dining and Sabatini’s check medallions the first few days. I have seen people sneak someone in and the manager had a talk with them. Never showed up again
  20. It is not really a cruise line decision if the port no longer has the capacity for a lot of ships. Many ports are limiting size and number of ships these days
  21. I don’t get the plus package for the dining. More to cover the 8-10 drinks and wines we each have every day
  22. We are on day 1 of our b2b 2nd leg and just split a charcuterie at Vines. One plate only 1 charged
  23. The crew in Reserve Dining and Sabatini’s breakfast crew are still outstanding. On board now.
  24. And the casual dining spots here in the Grand have let us split one meal. That was at Alfredo’s (just one pizza nothing else) and Vines (one charcuterie plate). This was under the plus package last week. 2 pizza trips and one charcuterie and we still had 1 left if we wanted it. Neither venues were all that crowded
  25. It is a good experience but very expensive. It was free for me as a suite guest when it first rolled out. For me it is like the chefs table too much food and too expensive. You could go to specialty dining many times for the same price in a cruise and get real good food without portions that make you groan as they roll you out
