  1. We only sail in Royal class if it is an itinerary we really want and have no real urge to sail the sphere class. We stick to Grand class ships 90% of the time. Have no use for water slides and go carts. But we do love the savings the plus package gives us
  2. We always book aft. The one time we had a very forward cabin we found the pitching to be an issue. Also we were woken at every port by the anchor dropping. This was on a very small ship 750 passengers
  3. We always book casino rates and even when upgrading from a free balcony (not by bidding we pay when we book) we have always gotten the double credit. However once you are elite it really doesn’t matter
  4. It all depends on the itinerary. We have never missed the cut on Alaskan cruises from Vancouver and barely made it on our recent Hawaii cruise. 10 day cruise to Mexico out of SF forget about it. We have well over 500 days
  5. First of all I would hate to clean up a cabin with 6 people of any age in it. Also that baby can make a much bigger mess that any adult
  6. It is just like when they made the pizza restaurants a pay for venue. People freaked out and thought it was the end of the world I had been on the Discovery right before that announcement and it was a 2 hour wait to get into the venue just for a pizza.
  7. It would take a lot for a new cruiser to get up to the 500 days or usually needed to qualify for most traveled lunches
  8. Sausages in batter. I however have not seen them on a Princess menu usually the sausage dish is bangers and mash
  9. It comes down to wants and needs. I don’t use room service, I don’t use Ocean Now, I don’t take gym classes, I don’t eat the ridiculous desserts, I don’t have pictures taken. I rarely use casual dining venues. If all of these things were part of the standard cruise fare the cruise fare would be higher. The way things are now you can decide what you need and what you are willing to pay for
  10. I think that is a very pessimistic attitude when you say nothing will be included in cruise fare there is no basis for it. Except for now charging for the sit down pizza venue what is costing money that was free before ? MDR free, lido deck pizza and burgers free, IC food free, soft serve ice cream free. What has really changed
  11. I am assuming you mean Tabasco not tobacco. That would be pretty weird
  12. I would be a late ding time would be much later. Lots of those large tables will take at least 2 hours for dinner and maybe longer. I would say more like 7:45 at least
  13. I am logged on the check news and sports and don’t want to log on and off all day. Also emails from friends and family. Also contacting private tour guides
  14. And most sailings from Whittier are. In the evening. They have all afternoon to board
  15. What child does not need internet ? I am logged on all day myself and would not want to share. CA should be paid for all. Ever seen the mess a child can make ?
  16. It is not parents. The OP is taking grandchild by themselves
  17. We find that if we stay on the non smoking side that it is not usually an issue. However there are times when our preferred machines are only on the smoking side with can be a turn off
  18. One of us seems to get covid about once every 4 cruises. We are both vaccinated about 7 times which keeps symptoms to a minimum.but there is no way to totally prevent it. We do test once a week on a long cruise but only use masks in the casino if we decide to play a slot in the smoking side
  19. Especially if some patrons order multiple courses that was always the issue with traditional dining. One person orders 2 appetizers, a salad, a soup and main course. It used to put me to sleep. We have a starter, a main and maybe dessert
  20. We gave up on trivia years ago due to the aggressive teams
  21. Princess casinos are never empty and it is many times jammed full of gamblers and had to find a table or slot to play
  22. If the ad yet is going to get the package then the 2nd person does also. Once you add up CA, Wi-Fi, casual dining and tons of waters, sodas and mocktails it can come very close especially if the adult is going to partake in alcoholic beverages
  23. We have never had an issue booking embarkation night dining while in suites. Just call the dine line when you board. Our tradition is Sabatini’s on that night If they told me it was booked I would question the “guarantee” in suite benefits
  24. Purple Cafe. Excellent food and innovative cocktails. Good wine list also
  25. Be aware that when there are events in the stadiums they use an “event menu” very few choices and no glassware all drinks served in plastic
